Chapter 9
Alpha Jasper’s heart, as fickle as ever, began to soften toward Omega Bianca.
He started accompanying her to her checkups at the pack hospital.
One day, during one of these visits, he ran into Emma–my closest friend and one of The
Ambersy Pack’s most respected obstetricians.
“Emma!” he called, his tone a mix of anxiety and hope.
Emma turned to see him, her expression immediately darkening. “Alpha Jasper,” she
replied curtly.

“I know this request might come as a surprise, but could you tell me where Audrey has gone?”
“I haven’t been able to reach her these days, and I’m really worried.”
Emma let out a sharp, humorless laugh. Her disdain was evident. “You’re her fiancé–well, you *were*-and you don’t even know where she might be? How pathetic.”
Alpha Jasper winced at her words but didn’t
retreat. “I… I’ve been busy,” he said, his voice
faltering under her glare.
“Busy with what? Flirting with your sister–in–law?” Emma snapped, her arms
crossed tightly. “You didn’t cherish Audrey when she was by your side. And now that she’s gone,

you’re suddenly worried? Spare me.”
Emma had never liked Alpha Jasper, and she seized the chance to defend me, scolding him without mercy. It left Alpha Jasper unable to lift his head.
“It’s not like you think,” he muttered. “Omega Bianca did make mistakes before, but she’s changed. I’m here today to take her for her checkup.”
“She’s carrying my brother’s child, but my brother’s gone now. As her brother–in–law, of course, I need to help take care of her.”
Emma raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed.
After a moment, she sighed. “I’m not going to

tell you where Audrey is,And for her sake, you’d
better not bother her anymore.”
Alpha Jasper left, defeated.
A few days later, Emma sent me a video.
In the footage, Omega Bianca was standing at the door of the obstetrics and gynecology exam room, hugging a man.
But the man wasn’t Alpha Jasper–he looked
unfamiliar.
I was taken aback. “When was this?”
Emma replied, “Just yesterday. Alpha Jasper told me she was pregnant, so I kept an eye on things.”

“This woman really has no shame. What do you think? Should I send this video to Alpha Jasper? His reaction would be interesting.”
I stopped her, “Don’t send it. Just pretend you don’t know anything.”
“Why?”
“The best revenge is not to make him sad for a while, but to keep him deceived without his knowledge.”

After leaving Alpha Jasper, I found that living alone was easier than I’d expected.

For the first time in years, I didn’t have to plan my meals around his preferences or worry about what or who–he was doing. I was free, and it felt amazing.
I decided it was time for a change. I chopped off the long hair I had clung to for so many years. and got a chic, voluminous perm. When I posted a photo of my new look on social media, the response was overwhelming.
“You look stunning!”
“This suits you so well!”
“You’ve never looked better.”
Each comment felt like a small victory, a reminder that sometimes, you have to let go

of what weighs you down to discover who you
truly are.
The days passed peacefully.
Until one evening, after a class reunion, a male
friend offered to drive me home.
As I approached my door, I froze.
Alpha Jasper was there, standing in the dim porch light, his shoulders slumped in defeat. The moment his eyes met mine, they burned with jealousy.
“Who was the man who just dropped you off?” he demanded, his voice low but dangerous.
