Chapter 5
The moment she saw me, Omega Bianca’s face flushed with mock embarrassment as she frantically waved her hands.
“Luna Audrey, please don’t misunderstand!” she stammered, eyes wide with feigned innocence. “I just think your wedding dress is so beautiful, and I couldn’t resist trying it on. I didn’t mean anything by it, I swear!”
Before I could respond, Alpha Jasper chimed in,
his tone casual.
“She won’t mind. You look great in it.”
He turned to me, clearly expecting me to brush it off with a laugh.

But I didn’t.
“This dress was custom–made for me by a close friend,” I said coldly. “I’d appreciate it if you took
it off now.”
Alpha Jasper’s face darkened, and his tone grew defensive. “Audrey, don’t be so petty. Every girl loves wedding dresses. What’s the harm in letting her try it on?”
I leveled him with an icy stare. “If she loves it so much, she can buy or customize her own wedding dress. Touching my things without permission is no different from stealing.”
My words were a slap in the face, but I wasn’t
done.

“And wearing your sister–in–law’s wedding
dress? If she’s not embarrassed by her behavior,
then I certainly am. Such poor manners.”

Alpha Jasper’s jaw tightened as anger flared in his eyes. “You’re being way too harsh!”
Omega Bianca, ever the actress, immediately played the victim. She lowered her head, her voice trembling with just the right amount of
self–pity.
“Luna Audrey, I’ll change right away. Please don’t argue because of me. This is all my fault.”
She scurried off to the bedroom, leaving an
awkward silence in her wake.

Alpha Jasper turned his disappointed gaze on me, a look that once would have sent me spiraling into guilt and self–doubt.
But not anymore.
I’d spent years bending over backward to make him happy, only to realize how foolish I’d been. Sacrificing my own dignity and happiness for his approval wasn’t worth it.
When Omega Bianca reappeared, now dressed in her own clothes, she smiled brightly as though nothing had happened.
“To make it up to you, Luna Audrey, why don’t we go out for dinner?” she suggested.
I wanted to refuse, but Alpha Jasper chimed in,

coaxing me to agree. Reluctantly, I gave in, if only to keep the peace.
At the restaurant, Alpha Jasper looked guilty.
He knew I was allergic to seafood, yet he let Omega Bianca choose a seafood restaurant.
I didn’t touch any of the lavish dishes in front of me–only eating some noodles.
The two of them chatted and laughed.
Then, Omega Bianca pulled out her phone to snap a selfie with Alpha Jasper.
“Say cheese, Alpha Jasper!” she chirped,

leaning in close.
Moments later, her phone buzzed with likes and
comments as she posted the photo online with the caption:

They acted as though I wasn’t even there.
For the first time, it felt like they were the real
mates, and I was just a stranger sitting at the
table.
Halfway through the meal, Alpha Jasper
excused himself to use the restroom, leaving me
alone with Omega Bianca.

The moment he was out of earshot, her sugary smile vanished, replaced by a smug, cutting
sneer.
“You saw it, didn’t you?” she said, her tone
laced with malice.
I looked up, unfazed. “Saw what?”
“Don’t play dumb,” she hissed, leaning closer. ‘Alpha Jasper was being incredibly attentive to me just now. Even a blind person could see
that.”
“Did he even look at you? You can’t compete with me, so stop acting so thick–skinned.”
Her eyes glinted with triumph as she added, “Face it, Audrey. You can’t compete with me.

You’re nothing but an old, washed–up Luna.”
I set down my fork, my movements calm and
deliberate.
“No matter what, I’m still the officially recognized Luna of the Ambersy Pack,” I said,
my voice steady.
“Your husband has been dead for less than a
year, and here you are, throwing yourself at his brother. Tell me, Omega Bianca–are you not afraid Vernon’s ghost will come back to haunt. you?”
Her smug expression faltered, a flicker of panic crossing her face.
“Vernon was kind to you, wasn’t he?” I

continued, my tone sharp and unrelenting. “He adored you. And now, you’re trying to repay his love by crawling into his brother’s bed?”
Omega Bianca’s lips pressed into a thin line, her composure cracking.
“Stop trying to scare me,” she snapped. “For your information, I never loved Vernon. The only reason I got close to him was to be near Alpha Jasper.”
Her words dripped with venom as she added,
“And you know what? Alpha Jasper feels the same way. He’s only sticking around with you out of pity and responsibility. If it weren’t for that, he’d have left you ages ago.”
I leaned back in my chair, meeting her gaze

without flinching.
“Then why don’t you tell him that?” I said, my voice calm and deliberate. “Tell him exactly what you just told me and see how he reacts.”
Omega Bianca’s confidence wavered, but before she could respond, Alpha Jasper returned.
Her demeanor shifted instantly, the sneer vanishing as she plastered on a sweet smile.
“Alpha Jasper, you’re back!” she exclaimed. “I was just telling Luna Audrey how grateful I am for all the care you’ve given me. I’m thinking of getting you a gift to show my appreciation.”
Alpha Jasper raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical. “What were you saying about me?”

“Oh, just how wonderful you’ve been!” she said, her voice dripping with sweetness.
I silently slipped my phone into my pocket, pausing the recording I’d started when she first began her little tirade.
I had no intention of engaging in petty arguments, but that didn’t mean I would let her walk all over me.
Omega Bianca’s birthday was just around the corner, and I was already planning the perfect gift.
A gift she would never forget.
