Chapter 64
Frank rubbed his temples, the sharpness of Ruby’s voice making his cars ache. Sighing helplessly, he said, “Ms. Bates, calm down. I know you’ve placed much hope in Class A students, but weren’t the exam questions set by the Class A subject teachers and the senior–year director? The answers were only will you two, so…
If anyone had leaked the answers, it could only have been one of them.
Ruby was at a loss for words. She thought, “The senior–year director is also the vice principal. There’s no way I’d dare accuse him. But it’s equally impossible that I leaked the answers myselfCould it really be that the Class F students solved the questions on their own?‘
Ruby clenches her palms, crumpling the answer sheets. Her face turned grim. She thought, ‘How could this be? I can’t believe those failures in Class F could outperform Class A students. If they were truly that capable, why would they only achieve such good grades now, just as the college admission exam is approaching?‘
At this point, the physics teacher from Class D couldn’t hold back any longer. “I was the one invigilating during the science exam. I saw Aurora’s answers to the physics problems, which she solved exceptionally well. Moreover, she didn’t even use the standard methods from the answer sheet. Instead, she employed a simpler yet more complex formula approach that saved much calculation time.

“I witnessed it with my own eyes. Ms. Bates, you’re not suggesting I’m in cahoots with Aurora, are you? And let’s not forget that Aurora entered this school with the highest score. This is only her second time coming in first place. Is that so hard to believe? Talented people excel no matter where they are, regardless of the study environment.”
Just then, Alison burst into the room, catching the tail end of the conversation. She thought, ‘What? Aurora really came to first place?
Frank was the first to notice Alison. He asked. “Alison, is there something you need?”
- Alison began, but the rest of her words caught in her throat,
Still fuming after being refuted by the Class D teacher she had always looked down on, Ruby immediately took her anger
out on Alison.
“Alison, what are you doing here? Have you even looked at your grades? You’ve fallen more than a hundred places since the last exam. At this rate, forget about getting into a top–tier school, You won’t even make it into a second–tier one.”
Alison’s face flushed bright red as she hung her head in shame. She had spent half her time watching Aurora in the exam hall, so it was no wonder her results had been so poor.
Aurora and the others had barely made it halfway when they saw Alison stumbling back from the administration office, looking utterly defeated.
“You went to the office already?” Aurora stepped forward, her long legs blocking Alison’s path.
Noticing the shadow cast in front of her, Alison looked up dazedly. When she realized it was Aurora, she glared at her. “Don’t get too smug. Next time, I’ll beat you for sure.”
This time, Margaret quickly caught the flaw in Alison’s words. “Se. Rory didn’t cheat, did she? You slandered her. You’re a bad person.
Aurora patted Margaret’s head, instantly calming her down. Then, glancing at her watch, she said, “Class A students should hurry up and clean the toilets, Don’t waste everyone’s time.”
Class F students chimed in, “Yeah, get moving

It wasn’t just embarrassing. It was a serious blow to their pride. They had no idea how to explain this to their parents if words
got out
Seeing them not moving, the onlookers began to understand what was going on.
One student said, “They’re not really planning to back out, are they?”
Another added, “Wow, this is eye–opening. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen someone so shameless.”
One sneered, “I’m going to tell my parents. We’d better be careful if we ever do business with their families. They might pull the same stunt if they can’t deliver, and we’d be left cleaning up the mess.”
As the crowd mocked them, Damon and the others turned pale, then flushed. If they actually went to clean the toilets, how could they ever show their faces at Mereida High School again?
Maura stepped forward cautiously, tugging gently on Aurora’s sleeve. “Aurora, can’t you let this go for my sake?”
Aurora flipped her hand over, holding Maura’s trembling palm. Something unreadable flashed in her eyes, but outwardly, she played the role of a caring sister to perfection. “Maura, you are not in good health. You should go home and rest. There’s no need to worry yourself over this.”
Seeing Maura speak up, someone from Class A suddenly had an idea, pointing at her. “Maura didn’t take the exam this time, but we included her in the average score. That’s not fair. Her score should be excluded.”
The other Class A students quickly followed, seizing on the excuse.
Maura was one of the top ten students in the entire grade. They could easily make up that 15–point difference if she had taken the exam. There was no way they would’ve lost.
One Class A student said, “Didn’t Maura just say she was going to drop out? That means she shouldn’t be counted as one of Class A. Her score doesn’t belong in the average.”
First, they accused Class F of cheating, and now they were nitpicking over who should be included in the score. They would try anything to weasel out of the punishment.
Alison gently patted Maura’s shoulder, putting on a reluctant expression. “Maura, I know this isn’t right, but Class F is such a bully.
Maura, though reluctant to be excluded, knew this was the easiest way out. She shook her head softly at Alison, her pale face making her look even more pitiable. “Alison, don’t feel guilty. I understand.”
Aurora was disgusted by their pretense, her voice turning cold. “Who’s really the bully here? Have you forgotten the bet you made? And now that you’ve lost, you’re scrambling for excuses to avoid the punishment?”
Erik chuckled slyly pulling out his phone and turning the volume up
to maximum.
In the next moment, an all–too–familiar, arrogant voice rang out loud and clear. “If she wants to bet, then let’s bet. You think we can’t beat a bunch of losers?”
Alison’s face flushed as if she had been slapped multiple times. She wished the ground would open up and swallow her whole.
Erik sneered, “Maura from Class A didn’t take the Why do you Class A people get so petty now?”
and neither did Jack from our class. Yet, we still included his scort
Someone from Class A couldn’t hold back and shouted, “How can jack and Maura be the same? One was raising the class average, the other dragging it down. How could they possibly be compared?

Just then, a cold, indifferent yoice cut through the noise. “What same?”
Everyone turned to see a boy in the Mereida High School uniform slinging his backpack over one shoulder and leaning casually against the hallway wall. He looked around, clearly confused by the crowd. “What’s everyone doing here?”
Everyone fell silent the moment they saw him, their expressions tightening as they instinctively stepped aside, making way for him. They all wondered why this troublemaker was here.
With his arrival, the entire group quieted down.
Aurora’s eyes gleamed with curiosity as she observed him, recalling Erik’s earlier description of the boy. He was a gangster who was ruthless when it came to fighting.
