Chapter 63
“Impossible. This can’t be. Aurora must have cheated: Alison’s eyes widened in disbelief, her hands trembling slightly as she held her phone.
Maura quickly checked her phone, too. Seeing Aurora’s name at the top, her first thought was the same as Alisons. It had to be a glitch with the school’s network. There was no way this coull be real.
Maura rubbed her eyes vigorously, opening and closing them several times to make sure she wasn’t seeing things. But no matter how many times she checked, the name in the first place was still Aurora’s.
Maura thought, ‘How could this be? Isn’t Aurora from the countryside? How could a rural education possibly keep up with the standards of Mereida High School? Were the questions she solved as difficult as those at Mereida? No, she must have cheated”
Suddenly, Alison thought of something and smiled smugly. She pointed at Aurora and shouted. “I was in the same exam room as Aurora. Every single time, she hands in her paper early even saw her finish math and science papers in just an hour. She must have memorized the answers beforehand.”
Besides attending Mereida High School, Alison had a private tutor at home. Even with that advantage, she had spent all three hours of the exam working on math alone and still didn’t have time to finish the last problem. She thought. There is no way Aurora could’ve finished so quickly without cheating”
As for how difficult the exam was, no one knew better than the students in Class F.
Hearing Alison’s accusation, the Class A students, unwilling to admit they had been beaten by someone from Class F, quickly jumped on the bandwagon.
One said, “We don’t accept a first place earned by cheating.”
Another added, “If
u want to be number one, cam it fair and square.
Erik didn’t even bother arguing with them. Instead, he hurriedly pulled up the class rankings, skipping past the average scores for each subject. He looked at the final overall class score
Suddenly, Erik burst into laughter, his face lit up. He declared, Class A lost. Their average score is 1260, while ours is 1275. We beat them. Class A, get ready to scrub the toilets.”
The other students from Class F, who had just seen the scores for themselves, joined in Erik’s boisterous laughter. “Class A lost. You lost. A bet’s a bet. Go clean the toilets already.”
Students from other classes gathered around Class F and saw the rankings, too. All the hostility from before vanished, replaced by amused smirks.
Especially the Class B students, who had always viewed Class A as their biggest rivals. They couldn’t hide the delight on thei faces. It wasn’t every day they got to see Class A make a fool of themselves.
Margaret clapped loudly. Out of nowhere, she pulled out two colorful streamers, holding one in each hand, and began spinning around Aurora. “Rory, you’re the best. The very best.”
Aurora stood still as a statue, unaffected by the fanfare. The streamers glittered as they waved through the air, casting vibrar reflections that only highlighted her cool and aloof demeanor. She looked like a cold moon atop a distant mountain, untouchable and impossible to look at directly.
Alison, incensed by Margaret’s voice, snapped. “Idiot, you have no right to speak here.”
Hearing this, Class F wasn’t having it. They weren’t about to let anyone from another class insult their own. “Who do you think you’re talking to? Are you sure your mouth didn’t just come out of a toilet? You’re spewing nothing but garbage” One

Alison trembled with rage, shrieking. “Say that again, I dare your No one had ever dared insult her to her face like that,
Aurora, already uninterested in further squabbling, swept her gage over Maura and the other Class A students standing behind Alison. Her tone was dismissive, dripping with superiority. “Anyway, you lost the bet. It’s time to go clean the toilets.”
Aurora’s words set off a wave of howls from Class F students. Phones were whipped out as everyone rushed to record this historic moment.
Class F students had always been looked down upon. People said they were hopeless, unworthy of any effort. Well, what now? Now, they had beaten Class A students.
What did that say? It meant they weren’t the lost cause everyone thought they were. It was the teachers at Mereida High School who had judged them unfairly and couldn’t teach them properly. Otherwise, how did they do so much better than Class A students with Aurora’s guidance?
Alison’s face tumed grim, her voice sharp and angry. “You only got that score because you cheated. I don’t accept this. I’m going to the administration office to report you,” “Then, she pushed through the crowd and stormed off toward the office.
Alison knew exactly what kind of people made up Class F. She thought, ‘Even if they were given ten years, they would never outperform Class A
Just wait. Once the administration confirms that Aurora cheated, I’ll make sure to throw all her belongings into the toilets. Then I’ll wash that mouth of hers before kicking her out for good”
Several other Class A students followed Alison, shouting that they would report Aurora, too.
Aurora shook her head with a smile, her gaze full of disdain. “Class A, if you couldn’t afford to lose, you shouldn’t have made the bet in the first place. Now you’ve lost, and you’re throwing a tantrum. Tsk.”
Damon, who had stayed behind, looked at her with a face as dark as thunder. “Why don’t you go to the administration office? Are you scared?”
The moment Damon spoke, Erik, who had always butted heads with him, shot back instantly. “Only sore losers are afraid. We’ve got nothing to hide. Today, we’ll prove you wrong once and for all.”
With that, Erik waved his hand, motioning for the rest of the Class F students to follow him. “Let’s go to the administration office too. Let’s make sure those with dirty minds don’t tamper with the results just to win.”
The other students quickly followed, heading towards the office. This drama wouldn’t end anytime soon, and none of them minded the extra entertainment. After all, who didn’t enjoy watching a good farce!
Maura bit her lip, wanting to say something, but seeing everyone else’s eagerness, she held onto a sliver of hope and followed. She thought, ‘What if… Just what if the administration had made a mistake when recording the scores?‘
The students didn’t know that the administration office was already in chaos.
Ruby, the homeroom teacher of Class A and a renowned educator, had been leading Class A since she joined Mereida High School. Under her guidance, Class A had held the top spot for the past two years.
But now, they had been beaten by the trash from Class F. She could barely tolerate being surpassed by Class B, but being beaten by Class F was absolutely unacceptable.
“Where are the Class F students‘ papers? I want to go through them one by one. They must have cheated” Ruby had barely put down her textbook before storming into the office, demanding to check the answer sheets
Frank handed her a stack of answer sheets. “Here, take your time.

The students were shuffled–shuring the test, Int afterward, the silent union would sort them by class for the subject teachers to grade.
Ruby hefied the stack in her hands, frowning, “Why are there so few Only a dozen?”
Frank glanced towards the corner, where the student union was all sorting the answer sheets. “Start with these for now

Ruby then lowered her head and began to go through them, and her expression grew darker with every sheet she reviewed. By the time she finished, she was furious. “How could Class F students possibly answer these questions? Someone must have leaked the answers.”
Her eyes narrowed. She demanded, “I want to see the surveillance footage
