Chapter 90: The Deep Thinker
Chloe was indeed very angry, but Julian was even angrier. He had been walking outside when he spotted Chloe, and at that moment, he felt a hint of triumph.
He wanted to talk to her, but then he noticed another person beside her–Daniel.
If it had been anyone else, he wouldn’t have been this upset, but seeing Daniel there made him
furious.
After holding back his anger, he finally couldn’t take it anymore and rushed forward, but he hesitated to knock on the door. From past experience, he knew that if Chloe didn’t want to open the door, she probably wouldn’t.
He waited, thinking Chloe would never come to answer, but to his surprise, she finally did.
The moment the door opened, he couldn’t contain his anger any longer. He grabbed Chloe’s hand tightly, his eyes red with fury.
“Do you know who he is? He’s Daniel! He’s been groomed by his family since childhood. How could he possibly care about you? You’re overestimating your importance. To him, you’re just a plaything!”
Julian was livid, glaring at Chloe, confused about why she was still associating with Daniel.
Daniel was the type who only schemed for his own benefit–everything he wanted, whether it was possessions or people, was treated this way.
If it weren’t for that, Julian wouldn’t be so fixated on Chloe.
Chloe, hearing Julian’s words, couldn’t help but laugh in anger. “Who I associate with is none of your business! Whether I’m just a plaything to him is my problem, not yours!”
She didn’t want to care about the intentions of those around her; she knew that continuing to tangle with Julian wouldn’t benefit her at all.
But after hearing her response, Julian trembled with rage. He came to remind her not to underestimate Daniel.
A carefully cultivated heir could never be simple.
He had never seen Daniel express strong likes or dislikes; he was always indifferent, which made it hard to discern his true feelings and avoid surprises.
Despite growing up together and being brothers for many years, sometimes Julian couldn’t understand what Daniel was thinking.
In this situation, the wisest choice was to avoid provoking someone like him, but Chloe didn’t seem to realize that and continued her relationship with him.

This time, their years of brotherhood had been shattered.
Julian believed it was Chloe’s fault on the surface, but there had to be other reasons he hadn’t figured out yet.
Regardless of the situation, underestimating Daniel was clearly not an option.
Chloe looked at Julian. “You’re misunderstanding something. Whatever his motives are, they have nothing to do with me.”
Hearing this, Julian felt a bit relieved; as long as Chloe didn’t fall for his tricks, everything would be fine.
But he only heard half of what she said; he hadn’t yet heard the rest.
“It doesn’t matter if he’s not related to me; you’re not related to me either.”
This was what Chloe wanted to express–whatever they wanted to do or exploit had nothing to do with her.
She didn’t want to get involved in their schemes.
So, whether it was with Julian or Daniel, Chloe’s attitude was the same.
“It’s late; don’t disturb others‘ rest. If you want to throw a fit, I suggest you find someone else and go somewhere else to do it.”
Without looking at him again, she found it ridiculous that he would come to her door at this hour.
It was late at night, and he stood at her door, completely oblivious to the disturbance he was causing. She turned and went back inside, shutting the door.
Julian watched the door close before him, feeling a surge of anger and wanting to do
something, but he realized it was pointless.
Taking a deep breath, he turned to leave. He wouldn’t let it end like this.
He was reluctant to see Chloe with Daniel and was determined not to let Daniel succeed in his pursuits.
Little did he know, Leila from the fire escape had witnessed everything. She silently observed the interaction between Chloe and Julian before slipping back into the shadows.
The next morning, Chloe heard the door open and poured herself a glass of milk. As she finished, Mia came over.
“Looks like you had a good time last night?”
Chloe smiled, handing her cup to Mia, who nodded and drank it all,
“It was indeed great. By the way, did you make breakfast just for yourself? Is there any for

or did you not think of me at all?”
Mia noticed the table was filled with food but realized it seemed to be just one person’s portion. Did that mean she hadn’t prepared anything for her?
“Let me tell you about last night. It was amazing–truly top–notch.”
Although she complained about not having her breakfast, she grabbed a piece of bread and started recounting her delightful experience from the previous night.
Her eyes sparkled with nostalgia, clearly satisfied with the events.
Especially the impressive abs of that guy from last night; they were real and felt so good to touch–she couldn’t have been more pleased.

If it weren’t for Chloe on her mind, she wouldn’t have returned so quickly this morning; she would definitely want to go back again.
Of course, she had other appointments too and couldn’t afford to waste all her time on just
one person.
