Chapter 34 I’ll Handle It
Sofia didn’t rush home but instead found a coffee shop to sit in.
She specifically asked for a private booth, and the first thing she did upon entering was hack into the coffee shop’s system using her phone, disabling the surveillance in her booth.
Once that was done, Sofia got to work on her phone.
She needed to quickly learn everything about that safe.
She recalled that the safe had a self–destruct mechanism that would cause it to explode if not opened within a certain time, with a blast radius large enough to attract government attention if it happened domestically.
Sofia couldn’t take that risk.
She had to figure out how to open the safe before Sylvia landed to avoid any complications.
But the more she looked into it, the darker her expression became.
According to her research, it seemed impossible to open.
Frustrated, Sofia slammed her phone–on the table and gulped down her now–cold coffee.
What the heck, it couldn’t be opened any other way!
Sofia could have had Sylvia change course to an uninhabited island and throw the safe into the sea, avoiding the risk of an explosion on domestic soil.
But she was reluctant to do so.
The substance inside the safe was crucial for Nathaniel’s treatment.
Without it, she could still cure him, but it would take much longer, and he would suffer
more.
Sofia couldn’t understand why she was so obsessed with getting that medicine.
She simply wanted to cure Nathaniel quickly and spare him the pain.

Angry, Sofia ordered another cup of coffee from a passing waiter.

The waiter looked at her curiously; she had already ordered the most bitter and strong black coffee, and now she wanted another without any cake to balance it.
He worried about the toll it might take on her body.
“Miss, perhaps you should try a different coffee. Drinking too much of this can cause heart palpitations,” the waiter suggested.
Sofia gritted her teeth, “No, I need it to stay alert.”
Seeing her determination, the waiter didn’t argue further and left with her order.
When the coffee arrived, Sofia downed it in one gulp.
She rarely drank coffee, especially such bitter coffee, and it was torture for her.
When she came to the coffee shop and ordered this coffee, it was just to avoid suspicion.
She didn’t expect to get so angry and lose her mind, using coffee to suppress her anger.
Despite the waiter’s warning, Sofia didn’t feel any heart palpitations, just an increased bitterness in her mouth and stomach, worsening her mood.
She decided she’d buy some macarons later to counteract the bitterness.
She picked up her phone again and continued working.
Finally, she found a solution.
Her lips curled into a mocking smile.
The person who designed this safe was incredibly clever, using such an extreme method.
They must have thought that the presence of such a complex unlocking method would make people overthink it, leading them to miss the simplest solution.
Sofia sent detailed instructions to Sylvia, saying, “Land on an uninhabited island in ten minutes. Use the method I sent to open the safe, retrieve the contents, and then throw the safe into the sea before taking off again.”

Sofia added, “Remember, you have five minutes to complete everything. Don’t make any mistakes.”
Sylvia, seeing the message, felt her own tension rising.
She understood Sofia’s instructions clearly: if she couldn’t open the safe, retrieve the item, and take off within five minutes, the explosion would affect her.
Sylvia quickly memorized the instructions and replied, “Got it. I’ll handle it.”
Sofia didn’t send any more messages, knowing this was now a race against time.
She trusted Sylvia’s abilities but couldn’t help but worry.
Sylvia was the person Sofia had known the longest.
Their bond was unbreakable, and if anything happened to Sylvia, Sofia would never forgive herself.
As the minutes ticked by, Sofia received a message from Sylvia, “Done! I need a raise!”
Sofia finally relaxed, smiling as she immediately transferred money to Sylvia.
Shortly after, she received a thank–you emoji from Sylvia.
Sofia chuckled, “Job’s not done yet. Keep going.”
On the plane, Sylvia saw Sofia’s message and couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
Sofia’s words implied that as long as Nathaniel wasn’t cured, Sylvia had to keep working hard.
Sylvia wanted to tell Sofia that she didn’t care about Nathaniel’s recovery.
From what she knew, Nathaniel was a dangerous man.
Healing him might not be a good thing.
But Sylvia understood Sofia well and knew she wouldn’t listen.
All she could do was support Sofia, ensuring things went smoothly in places where Sofia couldn’t be.

Sylvia looked at the item they had fought so hard for.
The fact that it had reached a bid of 1.6 billion was indeed crazy.
