Chapter 31 Don’t Make Me Come in Person
When Sofia came out of the operating room, it was already afternoon.
She hadn’t slept the night before, so when Sofia emerged from the operating room, her face was deathly pale.
Her teacher, William Rowe, patted her on the shoulder and said, “You did well today. Take it slow, do more surgeries, and you’ll get better over time.”
Sofia nodded and said, “Thank you, Sir.”
“You are the most hardworking student I’ve ever seen. I believe you can become a great doctor, but Sofia, for the sake of your future, you need to put in even more effort,” William said earnestly.
Sofia was never a naturally gifted doctor.
At Cleveland Hospital, she was considered average in terms of talent.
However, her hard work had allowed her to progress steadily and solidly in her medical
career.
As a teacher, besides imparting skills, William also felt responsible for planning her future.
William said, “The higher your qualifications, the more complex cases you’ll encounter, and the more surgeries you’ll be able to perform. Sofia, I genuinely hope you don’t just focus on the present.”
Sofia said, “I understand, Sir. I will work hard to write more papers and get higher qualifications.”
William nodded. For now, that was all they could do.
After parting ways with William, Sofia sighed slightly.
Although she didn’t care much about these things, within this large system, she still had to do certain things.
Sofia felt a headache coming on as she recalled the papers she had written. wondering if

Just as she was thinking, her phone rang.
It was a call from Sylvia.
Sofia frowned, having a bad feeling.
Sure enough, after answering the call, Sofia heard Sylvia say, “Sofia, the Hank family has gone crazy. The bid has already reached 1.3 billion, and they’re still raising it.”
Sofia’s face darkened.
The starting price for that item was only 9 million, and it had been bid up to 1.3 billion.
The Hank family was really willing to throw all their money into it.
“Keep raising the bid. I’ll check some things,” Sofia said.
:
She didn’t hang up the phone but pulled out another phone and quickly accessed a system.
After checking all the events involving the Hank family over the past two years, she finally found the root cause.
It turned out that old Mr. Hank was terJustinlly ill, but due to property issues, the Hank family couldn’t let him die.
Over the past two years, they had tried every possible method to prolong his life.
This time, they had heard that the item contained something that could be used as medicine to sustain old Mr. Hank’s life.
So, even if they had to go bankrupt, they were determined to get that item.
Because compared to the Hank family’s assets, old Mr. Hank’s personal wealth was hundreds of times greater.
As long as old Mr. Hank was alive, they could continue to get a steady stream of money from him and quickly make up the 1.3 billion.
But once old Mr. Hank died, all his personal wealth would be confiscated, and they wouldn’t get a penny.

A few years ago, she had met old Mr. Hank. He was a kind and benevolent old man who had dedicated his life to the country.
It could be said that the country’s current economic prosperity was inseparable from him.
However, in his later years, he was criticized by the people, accused of being extravagant and corrupt, spending the country’s money and draining its resources.
It was around that time that old Mr. Hank’s health began to deteriorate.
Sofia had accompanied her mentor to visit him, hoping to help the old man enjoy his twilight years.
However, his descendants were extremely greedy, fighting over money and doing all sorts of bad things.
Sofia had clashed with them several times because of their insatiable greed, trying to take things that didn’t belong to them.
In fact, if it weren’t for Sofia’s respect for her mentor and old Mr. Hank, she would have wiped out the Hank family long ago when they offended her.
How could she have let them survive until today and have the chance to compete with her for something?
Sofia turned off her phone and said to Sylvia, who was waiting for her instructions, “When they raise the bid to 1.6 billion, let them have it.”
Sylvia was stunned for a moment, then realized what Sofia meant.
“Are you really going to compete?”
Sofia said, “Yes, make sure to get it for me. Don’t make me come in person.”
Hearing this, Sylvia understood how important this matter was to Sofia.
She immediately said, “Don’t worry, it won’t happen.”
After hanging up the phone, Sofia logged into the Nightfall Order app.
“Anyone available to help me find out who the doctor treating old Mr. Hank is?”

She was very clear that the person who knew about this remedy was definitely not among those doctors.
So, who was it that knew her mentor’s remedy?
She needed to find that person.
Soon, Nightfall Order’s boss, Richard Hawkins, replied, “I’ll check it for you. The other person should be arriving in Campbell City soon. Let him focus on dealing with Mr. Hart.”
Sofia said, “Okay.”
Richard asked, “He hasn’t contacted you yet? What’s he doing? Is he planning to confront Mr. Hart head–on?”
Sofia was also puzzled.
The person should have come to see her long ago, but hadn’t shown up yet, which made her very uneasy.
She said, “I’ll contact him as soon as possible. Don’t worry, I won’t let anything happen to him.”
Richard wasn’t worried about that.
He was more concerned about how to give Nathaniel a piece of information worth 1.6 billion.
“Sofia, how long do you plan to stay with Mr. Hart? We’ve fought him so many times and haven’t gained much. Don’t get yourself involved,” Richard said.
Sofia wanted to say it shouldn’t be long.
Nathaniel was already planning a divorce.
After thinking for a moment, Sofia said, “I’ll stay until I cure him. Consider it a way to repay Older Mr. Hart for his kindness to me.”
Richard didn’t say anything more.
Among the four of them, Sofia had the best judgment and was the
