Chapter 97
Outside the South District, a massage center was well–known for its good service. Zoey kept introducing it to Evelyn on their way there.
Evelyn listened and saw that her face was red and her eyes were full of excitement as if she was not introducing a massage center. She listened to the conclusion of Zoey confusedly.
Evelyn asked, “Is it owned by your family? You can even publicize it for free.
“Yes.” Zoey murmured, avoiding eye contact with her.
When she was about to pull Evelyn in, a commotion suddenly came from the small park in the South District.
Evelyn subconsciously looked to the park. Several old people helped a lady out. The lady’s face was pale and was helped to sit on the long corridor outside the park
When Evelyn saw her face, she immediately ran to her.
She was anxious and looked at the elders who were supporting Kyla, asking, “What’s wrong with my mother?”
“Ah, you’re her family. We’ve called 911 but don’t know when the people will come. If you have a car, send her to the hospital as soon as possible,” one said.
“Yes, We don’t know what’s going on. When we were exercising, an old man suddenly heard the scream of the lady from the forest where few people go. When we rushed there, we saw her fainting. That place is very strange. I guess something evil caused her fainting another said.
When Zoey
ran over, Evelyn was flustered and taking over Kyla from the old man. She was shocked and looked at her. “What happened?”
Seeing Zoey, Evelyn’s eyes lit up, and said anxiously, “Zoey, drive here quickly. I’ll explain to you later!”
With the help of others, they put Kyla in the back seat.
Evelyn drove to the hospital quickly. The doctor who had received the call came up with others and soon sent Kyla to the emergency room.
Evelyn let go of her hands and leaned back in the chair, feeling scared.
Sitting next to her, Zoey patted and comforted her. “Don’t worry. She will be fine.”
“Well it will be okay, it will be okay…” Evelyn tried to comfort herself. Just now, Kyla lay motionless in the back seat. If it weren’t for the fact that Zoey had checked her pulse and breath, she wouldn’t have been able to hold the steering wheel,
“Evelyn… Zoey sat beside her.
After a long time. “I knew him because of his mother and then we got married. She has been very good to me. After my mother passed away, she treated me as her daughter. After I divorced, she still wanted to recognize me as her adopted. daughter… If…” Evelyn sobbed. Hearing her voice, Zoey looked at her and found that her face was covered with tears.
She took out a piece of napkin and handed it to Evelyn, She knew that Evelyn was talking about Caleb and realized that the woman inside was Kyla.
She knew that Evelyn just wanted to say something and didn’t need her response, so he quietly listened to her faint cry. She didn’t have a mother so she knew how it felt to lose a mother.
