Chapter 90
“Dad… I’m back,” Evelyn said.
Brian turned his head and looked at Evelyn for a long time, saying slowly, “You’re back. Go to your room and clean it up. Then come down for dinner.”
After saying that, he turned back to watch TV. Evelyn opened her mouth but didn’t know what to say. She said nothing but nodded and walked towards the bedroom in her memory.
When she pushed the door open, she smelled the dust. She put her luggage on the bedside, opened the window, and looked around the room that she had not stepped into for five years.
It was the same as what she remembered. Even the order of the books in the bookshelf in the corner seemed to be the same. Nothing changed in the room, as if she had never left.
Sitting in front of the dresser, Evelyn placed her belongings. A moment later, she suddenly looked up at herself in the mirror. In a trance, she had a feeling that she was arranging her clothes like a lady.
Of course, she was not as charming as a lady but was a little gentle at most,
The phone in her bag rang, She came to herself, saw it was from Aron, and answered it.
His voice was gentle which calmed her down a little bit. “Evelyn, where are you? Do you have many bags? Do you need me to pick you up?”
Evelyn was moved by his worried tone. “Aron, I’m at home now
Aron asked, “At home?”
She replied, “Yes, I’m at the Brin residence. My Dad and Jason let me go home just now.”
Aron was stunned. He had just investigated the reason why Evelyn didn’t go back to the Brin residence after he came back
Five years ago. Evelyn and Caleb had a one-night stand. But Brian and Mara didn’t agree with their relationship. When they heard the news, Mara was angry and went out to relax. However, she was hit by a car and died on the spot. Brian was so furious that he spat blood. Later, it was found that he had a cardiac infarction. The happy family had been ruined overnight, which made people sigh.
Since then, the Brin family had no contact with Evelyn, which meant that they had severed the relations!
Now the Brin family accepted her again and Aron felt glad for her.
with her.
Evelyn’s uncontrollable excitement made Aron smile. “Well, congratulations to you. I won’t disturb you. Hope you have a good time with your dad and Jason.”
There was light in Evelyn’s eyes. She nodded but didn’t realize that he couldn’t see her. After hanging up the phone, she kept giggling in front of the mirror.
She smiled but her eyes turned red. Her face was wet. A knock on the door made her stop. She wiped her face in a hurry,
eyes raised her head, and blinked her quickly. Then she quickly walked to open the door.
Jason glanced at her and said. “It’s time for dinner. Wipe your tears away and don’t let Dad see them.”
Evelyn followed him. When they were halfway down and there was still a corner to see the living room, Jason suddenly turned around and stared at her. After a while, she looked back in confusion.
Jason said, “You know what you should say and what you shouldn’t. Don’t make dad sad again.”

After saying that, he went slownstairs without looking back. He helped Brian sit in the dining room. Evelyn wanted to help. but she found that she could do nothing. She missed so much that she did not find her sense of belonging even if she stood
at her home.
“What are you doing? Come and have dinner,” said Jason
Chapter 91
Jason prepared the meal for Brian.
Seeing that Evelyn was still there, he frowned and said, “Get the meal yourself. Do you think you are a guest though you haven’t come back for a few years?”
She was excited. Although Jason’s words were not very pleasant, they almost made her lose her countenance. She thought, “Yes, I’m still the host when I come back after so many years. That’s so good.”
It was the first time that they had dinner for so many years. The atmosphere was subtle, and no one spoke during the dinner.
After dinner, Evelyn washed the dishes and came out. There was no one in the living room. She was in a daze for a few seconds and suddenly felt a little disappointed.
She walked to her bedroom and saw Jason standing in front of her door. “Jason?”
Looking at her, he nodded and asked, “What else do you need? Ell go out later and bring it back for you.”
Evelyn shook her head and said, “I need nothing. It’s so late. Why do you still need to go out?”
“Okay.” He nodded coldly and went downstairs. After a while, the sound of the engine came from the courtyard. Standing on the balcony, she saw Jason driving away.
Closing the door of the balcony, Evelyn lay on the bed. It was still unbelievable when she recalled what had happened. Did she really return home?
Although Brian and Jason didn’t treat her well, at least they allowed her to live.
She didn’t even dare to think about it in the past.
She was in a trance and picked up the phone.
After a long time, only the sound of the breath could be heard on the phone. Confused, Evelyn took the phone and saw it was a call from Caleb.
She immediately sat with her legs crossed. A few minutes later, there was still no sound. “Caleb
“Where are you?” he asked.
Evelyn suddenly had a subtle feeling. “Where am I? Why should I tell you? It’s none of your business.”
Evelyn put the phone far away in disgust and guessed that next he would suddenly roar.
However, there was another silence. After a long time, when Evelyn wanted to hang up the phone, he spoke, “You don’t recover but you run away. If something happens, Mom will think that I do it and I don’t take good care of you. I don’t want to be nagged by her.”
Evelyn was amused. “What does it have to do with me?”
She hung up speechlessly. Did Caleb still expect her to put in a good word for him in front of Kyla? She would never do that.
There was a busy tone on the phone. Caleb suddenly threw the phone, with rage. He thought, ‘She dared to hang up my phone. That’s so typical of her
He lit a cigarette. After taking a deep drag, his depression slightly dissipated.
In the afternoon, he finished his work earlier and bought the food that Evelyn often ate. Sitting on the driver’s seat, he
