Chapter 64
“Mr. Harper, aren’t you cautious, bringing only this tiny crew?” David cocked an eyebrow, casting a glance over his own entourage
ge of forty–plus strong, then back to the half–dozen trailing Felix. David’s laugh boomed, his eyes disappearing into the folds of his face, revealing a pair of flaring nostrils that was quite the sight.
Felix shifted his gaze and looked toward the gentle and refined Aron but asked David, “Mr. Thomas, don’t you fear that Caleb will pursue this matter? Or, is it that the three great families of Glovia are only harmonious on the surface?”
Aron felt eyes on him and met the look head–on. With the sun now in a different spot, he could clearly see the guy in the car. Felix looked as if he had forgotten what temptation was, all stoic and stiff. He might as well have been a mannequin.
Upon hearing this. David laughed heartily, “How could Mr. Mercer pursue the matter with us? As for the three families, there’s no need for you to worry. Mr. Harper, you should worry about yourself instead. Go catch them!”
David swiftly stepped back, pulling Aron away towards the slope, Over forty people received orders and swarmed toward the black–clad bodyguards, creating a chaotic scene. After several hand–to–hand combats, even the well–trained bodyguards were at a disadvantage.
The black–clad bodyguard vigilantly stood in front of the car. David stood to the side. He was satisfied with the scene and his face darkened visibly. “Mr. Harper, let’s not be deadlocked here for a long time. It won’t benefit either of us
Aron stood next to David, his brow furrowed the whole time. Sure, he was itching to make a name for himself in Glovia fast, but not by stooping to these tactics Aron turned to walk toward his car but was abruptly pulled by David. He immediately shook off David’s grip with disgust and reached toward his lower back. A cold glint flashed in his eyes.
Aron said, “Mr. Thomas, if you really want the goods, you can get them yourself. Don’t drag me into this. My business in Irinland is good enough. I wouldn’t stoop to doing such a thing!
“I’m afraid you can’t leave now either, Mr. Quinn, David replied.
“What do you mean?” Aron asked.
When Aron saw David looking behind him, he also turned his head to look over and saw dozens of people coming with guns. In the middle of the group was none other than Caleb Aron tightened his hand at his back and looked at Caleb, who appeared suddenly, with caution. This was the first time they had a formal confrontation, and Aron’s gaze flickered.
“Mr. Thomas, Mr. Quinn.” Caleb led people to Felix’s car, nodded to Felix, and then looked up at them. “Both of you didn’t get enough of my good stuff yesterday, and you came back to admire it again today? What? Are you planning to rob?” Caleb fiddled with the exquisite and small pistol in his hand, and suddenly raised his hand towards the sky, firing a shot. Everyone was in shock, and Caleb let out a sneer. “You guys even dare to snatch my goods?”
He sneered as he stared at Aron, feeling a surge of irritation within. So, this was the type of man Evelyn fancied?
He said, “Mr. Quinn, this is Clovia, Clusia, not Romaine where you can act like a king. Mr. Quinn, if you want good products, there are plenty of them in Romaine. So why do you want to get involved in Glovia?”
When this sarcastic remark reached Aron’s ears, it was akin to throwing a stone onto his already unsettled heart. He suddenly felt that during his time back in Clusia, he had been too hasty. Caleb was stronger than he had imagined. Aron silently loaded the chamber and stared intently at Caleb.
“Well, Romaine is not bad, and Glovia is also quite good. After the three powers have dominated for so long, doesn’t everyone have their eyes on Gloxia? Even someone like Mr. Harper also gets involved, right?” David said. Facing the dark muzzle of the gun, he still had a fake smile on his face. He tapped his cane heavily on the ground twice.
