Her Heart 34

Chapter 34
After wrapping up a conversation with Aron, Evelyn started prepping for her trip back. She ended up leaving by herself, as Aron had some business to take care of and couldn’t join her bed catch up a few days later. She had arrived in Romaine by herself, and now she was heading out solo too.
Evelyn slipped back home without telling anyour, and once the jet lag wore off, she tackled cleaning her dusty house. It was a wedding gift from Caleb, but they never lived there, preferring his place, so it remained vacant. Occasionally, when she needed some space, she’d spend a few days alone in the modest, three-bedroom house. Now, after months of neglect, she had her work cut out for her, scrubbing away the layers of dust that had settled in every corner.
After a whole day’s work. Evelyn felt exhausted, so she leaned on the couch, staring at the high rise outside the window. She was back in Glovia, and the half-month stay in Romaine was like a beautiful dream for her.
Her stomach gave a complaining growl; she realized she hadn’t eaten anything the whole day. Pushing off the couch, she made her way to the garage and drove her car that hadn’t seen action in ages into the brightly lit city.
It was already ten o’clock in the evening when Evelyn finally found a traditional restaurant with few customers.
Traditional food had always been her favorite, and she missed it so much when she was in F soon as she got back.
Romaine that she came to eat as
This restaurant had many private rooms. It was Evelyn’s first time here and she found the corridors lined with private rooms in different styles. It wasn’t until she reached the entrance of the stairs that she saw a large checkout counter.
Welcome. Miss. Are you alone?
Tes
“Okay, Please follow me upstairs.”
The waitress led her with a smile. As soon as she came to the second floor, she found that there were more private rooms
The waitress led her in and said with a smile, “Please wait a moment”
The waitress walked out, and just as she was about to close the door, she accidentally bumped into someone.
She turned around and saw an elegantly dressed lady, so she apologized immediately, “I’m so sorry, Ma’am.”
“It’s okay. I didn’t see you.” The woman shook her head and cast in eager glance toward the private room behind her.
Evelyn heard the noise outside the door, and as soon as she raised her head, she saw the lady looking at her and widened her eyes in surprise. Then she stood up awkwardly, not knowing what do to. “Jasmine…
Jasmine looked very surprised as if she didn’t expect to see Evelyn here.
She came over and took Evelyn’s hand, staring at her for a long time. Then she said with sympathy. “You’re more haggard than before, Evelyn”
Evelyn sat down with her, saying nothing.
Jasmine couldn’t stop sighing with tears in her eyes, and the moge she talked, the sadder she was. She just thought that the Mercer family failed Evelyn, but she couldn’t blame her son:
“Where have you been, Evelyn? I went to the hospital and didnnd you there. Even Bobby didn’t know where you had gone. How could you leave without telling me?” asked Jasmine.
