Taking my jacket, I rounded it on her body, and immediately she looked up at me and gave me a tiny smile.

A blond, fair–skinned lady is walking towards us. She looked so excited as she waved at us, hastening her steps.
I looked down at Birdie, seeing the smile that spots on her face, this was the best friend she talked about, it was obvious.
“I am overly excited to be here.” Her friend said immediately she got closer, as the both of them were wrapped in each other in a bear hug. “I cannot miss today for anything.” She whispered to her as she looked up and our eyes met.
The both of them moved away from each other. Birdie looked at her before her eyes landed on me.
“Ummm Matteo, this is my best friend, Daisy, the Sweetest soul you will ever meet, and Daisy, of course, is Matteo.” She introduced all smiles. The earlier tension she had is all gone.
“I’m so happy to see you again Matteo, you might not remember me, but I have seen you plenty of times.” She blushed, pushing the hair in front of her behind her ears.
Birdie nudged her and both of them were all smiles.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Daisy, thank you for coming”
“With all pleasure.” She chanted happily.
Both of them were suddenly speaking to each other, all smiles, and I could notice for the first time in a month a real smile was on her face.
It made me smile too. If I had known that, I would have brought her friend over a long time ago.
“Birdie Williams and Matteo Rodriguez.” Someone shouted our names, and we looked up of the same time.
“It’s time,” I said to her, taking my hands out.
She looked at the hand spread out, before giving me a little smile and taking it.
We were about to walk into a new phase, something temporary but something worth more than that for me.
“I haven’t seen your
r witness.” She said her hands pressed tightly to me
“Oh, Fredrick? He will be here before we get into that little space.” I nodded.
She smiled, her hands still pressed on mine as we both walked towards where the priest was waiting, waiting to tie our souls into one.
