Chapter 7
BIRDIE.
“What do you mean, you are getting married?” Joyer stood from the chair opposite mine, looking at me with shock registered in her eyes.
She looked as shocked as everyone suing here with me.
Mother is gaping at me with the suspense of what I had just delivered to them, they seerp to be in total disbelief.
I wring my index fingers together like I was expecting the ring to come back into it, but now I know that it’s a new ring from the other one.
It’s exactly as you heard, I am getting married”
Seeing all of them shocked to hear this, the disbelief that came from their inner self as they looked at me, it was with gathering them and delivering the news.
Mother cleared her throat, she looked like she was about to shout, but then kept quiet and just stared at me for a long time
“Since none of you is saying anything, I think I can start the arrangement for the wedding because…..
“You are doing no such thing” Mother shouted, standing up.
She took a step towards me when Father stood and sang her arms, stopping her from taking another step my way.
Tam
am deeply rooted to the seat like I had expected her to do the exact thing she is doing
She is so predictable that I know that she knows I’m getting married again while her beloved daughter doesn’t have a husband and is yet going to cause a lot of trouble
“You just got divorced, what exactly do you want people to say? I know there has to be a reason Erie divorced you, I told you” She looked at my father who looked as pissed as she was, but he was trying to control his anger.
That wasn’t for me, it has everything to do with controlling her
“She said she is ready to get married right now, I don’t think you have any reason to interfere,” He said, making her more mad.
“I can’t believe you just said that. Who the bell wants to marry a woman who just got divorced? Who is that person that has no iota of shame” She screamed more loudly like we all are suddenly deaf toned and waiting for only the sounds that come out of her lips.
At this point, I was getting so tired of her shouts, the only reason that could shut her mouth was when I said the person I wanted to get married to but that wasn’t for now.
“She probably cheated on Eric, that is the only explanation that will make him leave her
She left the stand and walked back to her seat.
I looked at Joyce, who had her legs crossed as she faced me.
Not that I was expecting anything from her, but even her face didn’t show remorse, it was like she didn’t feel anything.
My eyes wander to her stomach, and my blood is brimming with something hot. Remembering that my ex–husband’s child is growing in that stomach right now makes me want to scream
“Joyce isn’t the one that made you leave your husband, why are you staring at her that way?” Mother said, and my eyes didn’t move away from her
stomach

If there was a way for me to take that innocent child away from her stomach, if there was a way for me to take back everything she had made me love, then I would do that
“She is shameless, Mother, what else do you expect from her, getting married as soon as you are divorced. She spat out, “Unbelievable.”
The only unbelievable thing right now is her at peace she is, sitting there after taking what is mine, that is the only thing unbelievable.
“I just wanted to inform you about the next phase of my life, of course, I was not expecting anything much but when and where do I want to introduce this person! That will be left for me.”
And with that, I stood and walked away. Walked back to the little cabin that I called a room, where my peace was loud.
I was sitting on the bed with all the thoughts in my head so loud when the door pushed open and Joyce walked inside.

She first examined the room as my eyes were holding her in place. Before, the walked to one of the chairs arms the whortion and copplert
bebing
My room is not that massive, I have always liked the mallest of things in life and never looked at anything that didnt be the me
The only thing that stands out in my mom is my bed and the walk in closet with the desk that is sitting right there in the wide whea outside and let the air wash my face.
“What are you doing here?” I asked her after she kept looking inside and refused to say a word.
She scoffed before standing.
Tknow who you are getting married to, first telling the paparazzi to leak pictures of you tw, and now what? Planning to get married the laughed
Her high–pitched laughter is like a rod turning slowly inside my chest, and I want more than nothing to hold it and drag it dowly too far away
“I don’t care what
think
me, you don’t have that right.”
you suspect, what you did to me? It’s unexplainable, you are not entitled to come into my room and say
The fact that she carried herself into my room, the audacity of that even happening
“You can think whatever the hell you want to, but all I’m saying.
I sprang with speed out of my bed, holding her so tight against the wall as she struggled to breathe..
My body is suddenly filled with all the hatred that I have been trying to suppress
“You came into my room after stealing my husband from me, who the hell do you think you are?”
I held her neck so tight, through the shirt she was wearing, I was gripping her.
Her eyes were closed as she looked to be struggling for air. Is there anything wrong if I let her die right here and right now!
Knowing that wasn’t part of the plan, I quickly let go of her shirt as she began roughing
She held her stomach, coughing so loud as she tried to regain the air that had been sucked out of her
“Do you want to kill me?” She immediately said as she regained herself.
Walking to her, I seized her shirt and this time around she backed up, raising her hand.
“I know why I decided to keep quiet after what you did to me, I’m not a fool and I will not allow you to come here and think you can walk over mo
Letting her go, I walked to the door and held it open.
“Get out, get out, and never show your face here, you arrogant fool.”
She looked like she was about to say something when I walked towards her, and immediately she rushed out of the room.
Now the room is free of her, I am in my quietness and the agony of what lay in front of me is eating me up so slowly, I don’t know
But when I sat on the floor letting the tears chock me, I knew I could not leave them alone, they must pay for what they did to me
