The color drained out of the three men’s faces. One of them, freaking out, blurted, “Mr. Quinn, swear, we didn’t see this coming! Mr. Quinn… ah!” A gunshot snapped through the air, and that dude hit the floor, his eyes frozen wide open.
Juhus checked out the body and was like, “Oh, man. RIP, dude. Here’s hoping you don’t end up working for Mr. Quinn again on the flip side. Aron shot Julius a frosty look, and Julius just shrugged it off and smirked at the last two guys, who were scared stiff. “Mr. Quinn doesn’t mess around Play tough and get off easier; confess and it’s gonna hurt,” he told them.
The other way around, sir.” John said under his breath, getting it straight.
Julius slapped his leg. “Whatever, they get my point. Talk now or you saw what happens.”
The two remaining guys locked eyes, and then glanced at Aron’s gun still warm on the table. They caved and started singing like canaries. Turns out, these dudes ran the show over at Ganiva Port. On a night when coast guard boats were just blinking lights in the distance, some toughs in black stormed in, tied up some of the big shots-Aron’s guys-and then disappeared. All this went down when Aron was out of town. They also snatched some of his main crew. Those toughs in black spoke Clusian like pros and didn’t mince words when they started in on threats to their families. These three port chiefs had enough dirty laundry they sure didn’t want the Romaine cops to find. With their backs to the wall, they folded and swapped out a whole heap of shipments. But when Aron rolled back into town, he sniffed out the trouble. These guys tried to bolt in the dead of night, but Julius caught them and hauled them back here.
“Mr. Quinn, we’re comered, man. Gimme a break, just this once they blubbered, bawling their eyes out at Aron’s feet. “We’re just grinding away from home, man. Cut us some slack-we come from the same place…”
Aron shoved them off, rubbed his head, all frustrated. He’d thought these guys might’ve been worth something, battling it out overseas all those years. But now they were nothing but a headache.
“Take care of it.” Aron said nonchalantly, tossing his gun to one of his men, who then dragged the pleading pair away. “Mr. Quinn! Spare us, Mr. Quinn! They clawed at the carpet, leaving a bloody mess, fighting every step. They got scooped up
and taken out.
The smell of blood stuck around in the room. Aron took a big gulp of his drink and wiped his mouth.
“Hey, you good?” Julius picked up on Aron’s squint. He shooed the others out, leaving just them and John, who quietly refilled Aron’s glass without a word.

Tell me, Julius, how’s anyone supposed to feel good after being backstabbed by their own people, even by their brothers?” John took a look at Julius helplessly before looking at Aron with worry in his eyes. Slouched on the couch, Aron kept his his face was straight-up poker-faced. After a bit, he rubbed his chest and muttered with an icy tone. “Man, they’re anakier than I thought. Now they’ve got their hands in Irinland cookie jar
“You think they re from Glovia?” Julius asked, his eyebrows going up. He scratched his head then said, “Nah, can’t be. You just back from there. If they were that big-time, you wouldn’t have walked away without a scratch. Hey, focus, pal. What in the world took you so long? You should ve been here earlier, and we could’ve dodged this whole mess Julius tried to geta nour of Aron, who seemed a million miles away. Waving his hand to get John’s attention, he motioned to him to invite
