Chapter 12
As the sunlight took its last bow, Chinowa Town got all cozy in the evening’s cool light. A shiny black SUV rolled up to the hotel, and out came a tall girl, killing it in a red dress, her hair swaying just right. She threw a wave at someone in the car, her bright smile and chic outfit complementing each other perfectly
“Thanks for the lift, Aron!” she called out.
Aron, chilling in the backseat, just smiled and then, like he suddenly thought of something awesome, rolled down the window. He waved her over, saying, “Hey, since you’re the new girl and haven’t had a tour yet, what do you say I show you around? I’m kinda free these days.”
Evelyn thought it over for a hot second and then nodded. “Sure, that’d be cool.” Aron held up his phone. “Deal. I’ll give you a buzz and we can figure it out. I’ll swing by to pick you up tomorrow morning.” He watched her nod and duck into the hotel. and then told his driver to get moving
“Mr. Quinn, you’ve got that thing with Julius tomorrow night. We ditching it?” John Lee, the driver, threw a quick look at Aron in the rearview. Aron was kicking back, eyes shut. At the question, his eyes snapped open, all sharp and focused. John quickly looked away, sticking to the road.
Aron rubbed his forehead and checked the time, then said all cool–like, “Hit up Julius. Say we’re meeting
at Caesar’s.

While Evelyn was out like a light in her hotel room, miles away in the flashy center of Romaine, trouble with her name on it was brewing in some swanky joint.
Aron was there, playing it cool with a glass of red, with his crew in black standing by, all packing heat. The moody red lights made everything seem kind of like a gangster movie. John peeped his watch, and then gave Aron the eye, doing a mental countdown. Just when he hit ten, the door got booted open and three dudes, all tied up and muzzled, got chucked into the
With a loud laugh, a dude in a bright pink suit waltzed into the room like he owned the place. He saw Aron chilling on the couch and his face lit up. Without waiting for an invite, he plunked down right next to him. “Man, Aron, came through for you big this time, didn’t I? So, what’s the plan with these guys?” Julius asked.
“Appreciate it. Julius,” Aron said, giving his glass a little toast with Julius before eyeing the trio. These three were the men for the Alsia, and Aron had Julius draw them out for a takedown initially planned for tomorrow.

Aron put his drink down and signaled his crew to yank the gags off. Scared out of their wits, the three started yammering for mercy “Spill–the deal at the docks, what’s the scoop? Why’d you switch out the goods?” Aron’s voice was cold, and his were like lasers driting into them.
