Evelyn couldn’t figure out why she and Ava, of all people, were tied up in the same place, at the same time.
Evelyn craned her neck to get a good look at the kidnapper towering over her a large, shadowy figure with a mask obscuring his face. His eyes bore into her, wild and menacing. Lasten up, he growled, “If you play nice. I’ll make sure you’re okay. But if you try any funny business, I swear I’ll sell you off to some hillbilly backwoods where you’ll never see the light of day again!”
Evelyn didn’t waste a second and started pleading. “Look, man, you’re in this for the cash, right? Just tell me your price; I’ll pay it okay? Please, just let me go. I’m literally begging you!”
“Zip it!” the thug snapped ferociously. “My brother got killed working for Caleb, and that guy thinks he can fob us off with a measly 70 thousand dollars. Both of you are his ladies; if he doesn’t cough up a decent explanation, well, you’re on your

So, this was all because of Caleb.
Evelyn stole a look at Ava, still knocked out cold, and a wave of despair washed over her. Sure, she was Caleb’s wife, but the guy loathed her to his core. How could he possibly risk anything for her?
Caleb would probably throw a party if these goons got rid of her, saving him the trouble of doing it himself.
After what felt like an eternity, a lanky man with eyes sharp as blades walked in. This had to be the head honcho of these kidnappers.
the tough guy who was all up in Evelyn’s face moments ago turned into a yes-man in front of the new arrival, “Boss, we got them. What’s the next move!”
The boss took a drag off his cigarette, his voice dripping with malice, “Take a video, and send it to Caleb. Tell him we’ve got his two broads. He wants them back in one piece, he’ll pony up 70 million dollars. If not, he’d better be ready to say goodbye to their pretty little faces.
The big guy hurried off to do as he was told.
Caleb was in a meeting when his assistant rushed in with a video, The atmosphere got tense as his face went dark with anger. Nobody in the room dared to say a thing.
“Did you get the address?” Caleb snapped.
Got it. Mr. Mercer called the Glovis police too, and they’re on it, the assistant replied.
Caleb didn’t waste a second. He grabbed the address and left the conference room, his face set and serious. He raced down to his car and zoomed off, not even caring about the red lights or stop signs.
By the time Caleb got there, the police had the factory surrounded. The kidnappers, totally trapped, held knives to the hostages throats and shouted, “Don’t move, or I’ll kill them
They thought kidnapping would be a quick way to get rich. Instead, they ended up with cops and their flashing lights and kud sirens everywhere.
The big guy was so mad, he thought it was the women’s fault the cops came. He was about to hurt them when his boss said, Hold on! If you do that, we’re toast Let’s use them to bargain. right still work out,
Just then, Cale showed up.

The lanky kidnapper kept yelling. “Where’s Caleb Mercer? We’ll only talk to him!”
“I’m right here. What do you want?” Caleb said, his voice cutting throught the noise like ice.

Evelyn and Ava were tied up and couldn’t talk, but Caleb was their only hope. They made noises and used their eyes to beg him to do something.
The kidnappers were desperate. “We want 70 million! Throw in a car so we can get out of here. Do it, or you’ll never see your sweethearts again!” they shouted.
