Chapter 76
Terry
“I feel nothing for you” Those words rang in my head. I looked down, taking a deep breath and trying to calm myself. It hurts, it really hurts. When the one you love doesn’t love you back. It feels good to love somebody and somebody loves you back, but unfortunately, I wouldn’t be able to experience that with her.
I had hoped, and prayed that my actions would get to her, would make her feel something, but it seemed it was meaningless now. It seemed I had to let go now. I know it wouldn’t be easy, but I had to
“Terry” She called softly.
I took a deep breath again, keeping my emotions in check before looking up.
I’m sorry” She muttered softly.
“It’s alright.” I said with a small smile on my face
“I’m really sorry. Believe me I ned, I really tried, but it just

but as a person and my best friend. I do not wish to lose you.” She said, her eyes
“You don’t have to be sorry for what wasn’t your fault. You did nothing wrong, you didn’t ask me to fall in love with you” I said firmly.
1 guessed she still loved him, the bastard who caused her pain all those years. The jerk who didn’t even acknowledge her all those years, Quinn. It seemed I had lost to him, he had won without even trying. Though I hate to admit it. Quinn cared for her. I needed no soothsayer to tell me that the criminal incident and was all for Ana
1 had figured out that the criminal he had chased might be the one responsible for grandma Mira’s accident. He did it for their safety.
“Do you do you still love Quinn?” I blurted without thinking
“Huh” She looked at me surprised.
“1, uh…I don’t even know.” She stuttered, her shoulders dropping as she sighed.

in response.
I guess this is a date gone wrong.” I whistled and she let out a light laugh.

Chapter 76
“Ol, please laugh like you do, stop faking it.” I teased.
“And how do I laugh?” She giggled.
“You laugh like a Hyena.” I said, grinning
So you’re comparing my laughter to that of a Hyena’s ch” She glared at me.
you laugh you sound like a pig” She said, before bursting out laughing
“Well let me tell you what, when y
Now it was my turn to glare. The tensed atmosphere suddenly turned light. Maybe she was right, maybe I was better off as a friend to her.
“We’re good now?” She asked looking at me nervously.
“Yeah, better than never.” I flashed her a smile.
Though my heart ached, I was happy it had ended this way. In most cases, I’ve seen, the friendship would end but ours didn’t. At least she loved me as her friend. I didn’t think I could stop loving her even after her rejection. But they say when you love someone, you would always want to see them happy even if you didn’t end up with them, and they ended up with another.
“Let me take you home, Miss Hyena.” I teased.
“I don’t accept rides from pigs you know.” She grinned.
As I drove her home, we joked and laughed like before.
“Good night Hyena.”
“Goodnight pig.” She giggled before running into the mansion.
“Hey! Slow down do you want to fall?” I yelled.
“Shut up and go home pig!” She shouted back.
I chuckled as I entered my car and zoomed off. Tomorrow, I was going on an outing with Quinn and the kids. The infamous cold billionaire was asking me to go on a fun day with him and the kids. Wait, did I just say kids! Moon was the only kid, that boy Junior was a demon.
I wondered when Quinn and I had become close for him to ask me for an outing, I had a bad feeling about this, I wouldn’t have agreed if it wasn’t for Moon and Ana. It didn’t make me feel better knowing that boy was coming with us.
“Ughhh” I groaned as I massaged my head, the thought of it was giving me a headache.
I reached home and met my assistant waiting for me outside. Could I even call him an assistant? He was always taking two weeks leaves all the time. I was sure he was here to ask for another leave. His wife and children lived quite a distance, she had some kind of illness. She couldn’t be moved, would be bad for her health.
This was part of the reasons 1 always left him and hadn’t sacked him yet. Besides, he was very good at his job. Before he goes on his infamous leave, he always does his work ahead
“Good evening sir.” He bowed.
“Evening. How many I help you?” I asked
“What’s your name again? Ray or something like that?” I asked.
“No sir, it’s James” He replied.
“Okay”
“Sorry sir, I meant John.”
“Alright”
“I made a mistake, it’s Vonn, no Philip, sorry it’s Mike, no Isaac” He went on blabbering different names.
“The f*ck are you saying man?“I looked at him, bewildered. This man was crazy,
“My name sir. I’m saying my name. I have a condition that makes me forget my name.” He said.
“Oww I see. I’ll just call you anything then.” I chuckled.
“No sir, you have to know my name.” He said, with a serious look on his face.
“It’s Chad, no Wick, no Carl, sorry Kai-
“Enough, you want a two week leave right?” I asked, cutting him short.
“Yes sir.” He answered sheepishly
“Good, granted. You can go now.” I ordered.
you have to know-
“Good night, send my greetings to your family” I said, before walking into the house and locking the door.
Thank you sir!” I heard him yell.
I sighed as I walked upstairs, my head still banging at the thought of spending tomorrow with Quinn and his nephew,
