“He just wants to use the medium to get back to you Ana, he wants to manipulate you to pity him and care for him when he has a girlfriend who should be doing that. He’s just using you like he did before.” I said and paused when I said the last word.

Hooked nervously at Ana, expecting her to say something hateful to me but she just drove the car to the mansion, dropped Grandma Mira off and drove to her restaurant.
“Thank you for your concern. Terry and if it makes you feel any better. I’m not going to give him food in the hospital. She spoke calmly and a part of me felt happy at the decision while another part felt sad about what I sel

“It’s okay Terry. I just don’t want to talk about Quinn again. Can we not bring him up in our topic of discussion?”
“Oh sure. If only Grandma Mira would leave him out.” I replied with a shrug.
She sighed at this, Grandma Mira was becoming a thorn in her flesh and she couldn’t speak to her harshly else she might make the old woman think and hurt herself
“By the way, don’t you think that our last date is overdue?” I asked and she gasped in remembrance.
Tm sorry, a lot has been happening that I forgot about it.” She said, tapping her forehead.
“That’s true, it’s not your fault. We’ve all been busy. How about we finish that date tomorrow ch?” Lasked, taking up her hand and placing a gentle kiss on it
She looked surprised at first then burst into a mild laughter.
“It’s no problem Terry. I’ll close carly tomorrow, go home to freshen up then you’ll pick me up from the house.” She informed and I nodded
“Very well princess” I bowed, touching my forehead with her hand.
She looked amused and laughed again, beating me slightly on my
shoulder.
Ana got to work almost immediately and forgot that I had followed her in earlier. I left when I was sure that she wasn’t worried or bothered by anything and was engrossed in work.
I went to prepare for the final date. I had to impress her, prove to her that I was all she needed and take her thoughts of Quinn.
The next day. I rushed to the flower shop to pick out some fresh rose flowers for her, I rearranged my suit at least every two minutes.
At exactly six in the evening, I arrived her mansion but she wasn’t ready yet.
I waited for her at the living room with Grandma Mira who watched one of her favourite shows.
When Ana finally came downstairs, I choked on the water I was drinking.
She rushed to me to pay my back.
“Are you okay?” she asked and I looked at her again.
“You look to beautiful” I remarked, word after word and she laughed at me.
“Thank you Terry, and stop doing that. You scared the shit out of me.” She queried hitting my
shoulder.
1 gave her the bouquet of flowers 1 gut and she collected it with a broad smile then sniffed at it
“They’re so beautiful and they y smell nice ton” She said with a sober expression and I smiled with pride.
We got to the restaurant and I pulled the chair out for her to sit down we placed our order und got talking.

I tried to be sweet to my best capability, I wasn’t going to hide the way I felt for her anymore and knowing that today was my last chance to show what I felt, I decided to take the opportunity.
They brought our order and I offered to feed her. She refused at first but agreed when I persisted.
After the meal, we changed position and moved to a sofa in a corner of the restaurant with dim lights.
We were given different board games to pick from and she choose chess.
“Smart choice.” 1 remarked.
We played the game and laughed at anyone who looses.
Im so happy to be in your life,” I began with a serious face and she returned the expression.
“I remember when you told me you wanted to make something from this cooking. I thought to myself, what’s the story behind your determination.

I got closer to you and I got to find out what an amazing lady you are. The best decision I’ve made so far in my years in this cooking industry is taking you under my wings and training you” I voiced and her gaze softened.
The air becanic stiff and the atmosphere became hot making my tummy churn
I brought my face closer to hers, closing the distance between us, she didn’t pull back and I was excited within
I pulled in closer again, I brought my lips close to hers and was about to place a kiss on her lips when she pulled back.
“W—what’s wrong?” I managed to ask and she shook her head
Terry, I am so grateful to have you in my life as well and learning this craft under you was the best decision I’ve ever made in life. And I’m also grateful for finding a true friend in you but this cannot work between UL”
Every word she spoke broke a piece of my heart.
“Do you really not feel anything for me? Not even a line!” I asked, hanging on a thin line of hope but her reply totally shattered me.
“I feel nothing for you Terry but I love you as a friend” She tried to explain but the first word already blocked had to say.
