Chapter 137
“You…” Solana was left speechless by Darell’s words.
After speaking, Darell felt a faint pain in his heart.
While he had aimed his words at Solau, they also hurt him deeply. If Emily had known how he treated her children, she would have been heartbroken
Darell loved his wife, but he had constantly hurt the child she had fought so hard to bring into the world, Emily would definitely be upset. Darell had been hiding behind his supposed love for Emily, but deep down, he knew that he lud failed to protect her, and had instead shifted the blame onto a cluld–making her bear all the guilt
Emily would have seen through his excuses a long time ago. 11 she wer
she would have given him a piece of her mind….
Despite his inner turmoil, Darell remained as cold and stoic as always, his expression betraying nothing.
Solana saw that Parril was determmed to protect Nina Continuing to argue with him would only lead to a confrontation that would benefit no one. Het expression changed slightly, but she eventually softened,
Rubbing her temple, Solana sighed, Tise, After all, Nina hus your blood in her veins. Even though Emily died because of her, what can I as a mother, say” It’s your house, you’re the one farcliange. I’ve rarely come here, so I’ll stay for a few more days, Just arrange a room for me”
Only someone like Solana could pretend to give in and still find a way to throw more mud.
But at least she was willing to keep up appearances and soften her anitude. Darell couldn’t really throw her out, so he ordered the servants to prepare a room for her.
Nina, hearing that Solana was planning is stay for a few more days, felt a headache coming on. She quietly complained to Charlie and Gabriel, “Ugh, I feel like Solana’s going to keep picking on me these next few days”
Charlie replied, “What are you scared of? Your dad’s on your side now. If she bothers you, just hit back.”
Nina sighed. “I feel like she’s about to have a heart attack any moment. I’m afraid if I punch her, she might just fall apart
“Then hit her back?
“Wouldn’t that give her a stroke and kill her on the spot?”
“Damn. When did you become such a saint? Why are you worried about her! Stop talking like that or I’ll hit you.”
Although they were whispering. Nina and Charlie’s voices were loud enough for the whole family to hear.
Darell and his sons were speechless.
“Can you not talk so loudly, Nina? We’re on your side, but can you at least tone it down a bu?”
Rachel and Jessica also had enough of Nina.
Rachel thought. To talk so casually about hitting and insulting people, and even having Richard encourage Nina to fight! That’s ridiculous. But what was even more absurd was how everyone was just turning a blind eye, clearly indulging Nina!
The only one who didn’t seem to hear a word of it was Solana. Given her age and her hearing, she didn’t catch any of Nina and Charlie’s
conversation
When everyone stared at her, she was confused, furrowing her brows and saying, “Why are you all looking at nue? What’s the problem? Don’t I
Everyone was speechless,
Pour Solana had no idea that two of the younger generation were discussing whether it was better to beat her or insult her, completely oblivious to
Solana, who had high blood pressure, started feeling dizzy after Nina’s provocations. She decided to rest in her room alter it was prepared.
Rachel and Jessica quickly followed her to discuss how to deal with Nina,

Chapter 137
In the bedroom, Jessica cried out, “Grandma, please think of something to get Nina out of here. You saw it yourself–Dad and the brothers are all protecting her now. Mom and I can’t stay in the Woods family any longer.
Solana, hearing Jessica’s sobs, felt even worse.
She rubbed her temples and snapped at Jessica, “Cry! Always cry! Is that all you do when something goes wrong! You haven’t learned anything good. You’ve inherited every single flaw from your mother. You’re just as useless”
Jessica hadn’t expected to be scolded by her grandmother on top of being confronted by Nina and her brothers. Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked utterly wronged.
But Solana didn’t feel an ounce of sympathy. She turned her face away, showing nothing but frustration
Rachel, seeing Jessica hurt, couldn’t stand it. Solana’s disdain for her was one thing, but now she
was being rude to Jessica too,
For her daughter’s sake, Rachel decided to stand up to Solana. She said firmly. “Mom, if you’re so capable, then why don’t you come up for me and Jessica? This isn’t just about us, if we fall, it won’t be good for you either. Right now, we’re all in this together, so don’t start turning your un with a plan
back on us.
What are you saying. Rachel‘ Are you threatening me?” Solana’s face darkened, and she glared at Rachel.
But Rachel wasn’t backing down. She faced Solana head–on and said, “This isn’t a threat. I’m just analyzing the situation for you. Right now, you can’t keep criticizing me and Jessica”
“You!” Solana was furious, wanting to scold Rachel even more. But this wasn’t the time to escalate things. Seeing Rachel’s displeasure, Solana reined in her temper and snorted, “Fine, line. You two are useless, but in the end, you’ll still have to rely on me
Rachel raised an eyebrow.
“Mom do you have an idea?” Rachy
Solana sneered. “It’s not much of an idea, but at this point, we have no choice but to keep bringing up Emily’s death during childbirth. We need to stir up Darell and the kids‘ guilt and resentment towards Nina. Only then will they push her away again.”
“Do you think that will work!” Rachel had thought Solana might have a better
plan.
“Why not?” Solana’s eyes gleamed with hatred as she gritted her teeth and said. “If it weren’t for Nina, Emily wouldn’t have died. It’s all her fault. Emily died in childbirth because of her. The Woods family, a bunch of ingrates, have completely forgotten who killed their wife and mother. If I don’t make them remember, can I ever face Emily“”
Rachel fell silent, neither agreeing nor disagreeing with Solana’s words.
At this point, Darell had clearly come to terms with things, even going so far as to say that not taking care of Nina properly would dishonor Emily’s spirit. Trying to make him hate Nina again would not be easy
The one still trapped in the whirlpool of hatred was Solana
Solana was one of the people who resented Nina. She believed it was Nina’s birth that caused Emily’s death. Had Emily been in control of the Woods family’s finances, the Bush family would have been more prosperous than ever. It was Nina who ruined everything.
But the true culprit wasn’t Nina
Rachel knew the truth. Emily had been well cared for by the Woods family. Having given birth to several children before, Darell was cautions with this pregnancy, worried that something might go wrong.
especially
He made sure Emily had regular check–ups. Though Emilly’s health had declined a little, her condition was still within normal ranges. There was no trason to believe she wouldn’t deliver the child safely.
Yet, Emily still died.
It wasn’t an accident. It was a horrific conspiracy. And that event Rachel had never spoken of it to anyone. Even now, whenever she recalled that day, she still felt a chill run down her spine, unable to sleep for hours, haunted by the memory
