Chapter 12
As expected, Ricky Grayton didn’t come home again.
He always had some “urgent work” excuse, and I no longer bothered to figure out whether
he was lying.
he
he irony was, while I had completely given up on him, his little secretary seemed to be
obsessed with my existence.
“Alexia, Ricky asked me to come over and pack his bags.”
Early the next morning, before dawn, Sharna Allison unlocked my door with a key and walked in like she owned the place.
She had deliberately left a few buttons undone on her shirt, exposing a trail of hickeys on
her skin. Her face was smug with contempt as she looked at me.
“Is he going out of town for another project? How long will he be gone this time?”
I remained calm and composed.
In the past, Ricky would let me know about his trips in advance and ask me to pack his bags.
But now, he no longer needed me. He had someone else to take care of him.
Sharna walked straight into Ricky’s bedroom and began packing his clothes and daily
necessities like she’d done it a hundred times.
As she heard me speak, she stuck her head out of the room and flashed a sweet smile; her dimples adding a touch of innocence.
“He’s not going out of town for work,” she said, her tone almost triumphant.
So, he was moving out of the house entirely.
I quickly put two and two together.
Humming a cheerful tune, Sharna added,

“Alexia, this is my first time moving in with a man. If I do anything wrong, I’ll need you to
teach me, okay?”
I smiled slightly and handed her an old photo album that Ricky had treasured for years.
“Make sure you take this with you. It’s his most prized possession.”
Frowning, she opened the album.
Aside
side were photos of Ricky with another woman.
The woman wasn’t Sharna, nor was it me.
“Ricky takes this out to look at it almost every night when he’s home. You really should take
it with you. Otherwise, I’m worried he won’t be able to sleep or eat properly.”
“Who’s the woman in the photos?” Sharna asked, a trace of disgust flashing through her
eyes.
I smiled brightly.
“That’s Ricky’s beloved first love. Over the years, every girl in his life has looked like her. You’re the one who resembles her the most–it’s almost uncanny.‘
Sharna froze, her entire body stiffening.
Without another word, she turned her back on me, finished packing in silence, and stormed out, clearly furious.
Later, it seemed she couldn’t stomach the fact that I’d gotten the upper hand, so she called- me, her voice filled with indignation.
“Ricky told me I’m the most important person to him. Stop lying to me. His first love is married–they’ve been out of each other’s lives for years.‘
I couldn’t help but laugh.
Sharna still believed I was jealous and trying to break them apart.
She decided to retaliate.

Chapter 12
Using her public social media account, she began following me on TikTok. Every day, she posted videos of her sweet moments with Ricky, complete with captions dripping with
affection:
“When love is mutual, it becomes meaningful.”
I knew she was doing it on purpose, trying to provoke me.
But she was too young to understand the consequences of her actions.
She didn’t realize how this could damage her career and reputation, branding her as “the
other woman” in everyone’s eyes.
After all, Ricky and I were officially engaged. Our family, friends, and even colleagues knew
about it.
And yet here he was, living with another woman and flaunting their happiness online for
everyone to see.
