Rita grinned, “Phoebe, you really don’t know when to be content
“Even though I’m not worldly, I still know about your grandson,
“He’s everywhere on economic channels and in financial newspapers.
“Your grandson is the richest man in Clusia, truly outstanding. He’s always busy with so much to do. Where would he find the time to be with you?”
As people aged, they enjoyed hearing nice things, and Phoebe was no exception.
But she also caught a different meaning beneath Rita’s words and sighed, “Let him be. I don’t have high hopes for him. Money and status are just superficial. Happiness and health are what truly matter.”
Rita nodded, tapped her fingers on her thigh a couple of times, and said slowly, “Morris is almost 30 by now, isn’t he? At this age, he should be settling down.”
Phoebe paused for a moment, unsurprised by the topic that had finally arisen, and responded with a slight smile, “Exactly. He’s almost 29 now. It’s time to urge him to get married.”
“A person of excellence won’t be held back by age, but we’re not getting any younger, and we’d love to see our grandchildren settle down and start their own families, Rita concurred.
Then, after a brief pause, she asked, “I wonder if Morris has someone special in his heart?”
Phoebe was sipping her coffee, not at all surprised by the question. She glanced sideways at Rita, as if trying to extinguish the spark of curiosity in her heart.
Putting down her cup, Phoebe flashed a sly smile, “Oh, there sure is. A wonderful young lady, so lovely that I think my grandson isn’t good enough for her.
“Next time she visits, I’ll bring her up to your house so you can meet her.”
Hearing Phoebe say this, Rita wasn’t surprised. She calmly commented, “Oh? Morris is excellent, so it’s only right that he should be with someone equally impressive.”
The two exchanged a few more pleasantries. When lunchtime arrived, Phoebe politely invited Rita to stay for lunch, but she graciously declined.
Once Rita left, the Chivers residence returned to its calm state.
Enya came in with a bowl of herbal soup. “Mrs. Chivers, she’s gone. You should have this while it’s hot.”
Phoebe glanced at the steaming soup. “Let it sit for a bit. I’m not ready for it yet.”
“Mrs. Chivers, are you thinking about what Mrs. Muller said just now?” Enya asked.
Phoebe nodded. “Yes, I’ve always thought she wasn’t someone who would easily give up.
Back when she was younger, that wasn’t her nature. I wonder if she’s mellowed now that she’s older.
“Yet, she’s never been a simple person.
“Given her status and her mother’s background, in ancient times, she would have been addressed with utmost respect, like a princess.”

As night fell, the lights came on, illuminating the place with a vibrant glow.
It lost a bit of its mystery but added a hint of solitude to the scene
Yulia headed straight home after work. As soon as she walked in servant approached her. “Ms. Muller, Mrs. Muller is waiting for you in the living room.”
Yulia glanced at the clock and nodded. “Alright, I’ll go now. It’s nine o’clock. You all can rest. I’ll look after Grandma.”
“Yes. Ms. Muller,” the servant replied and then left.
In the living room, a faint candle scent wafted through the air.
Rita was sitting by the table, holding a pen.
With a blank expression she wrote the big word ‘endurance” on the paper.
Every stroke was strong and powerful, showing a sense of determined resilience.
As soon as Yulia came in, she saw Rita sitting by the table.
With a smile, she greeted Rita and then walked over to sit across from her.
Rita looked at Yulia. “You’re here. Did you lose the competition today?”
Hearing this, Yulia pressed her lips together, “Yes, the opponent was really strong. I still have a lot to learn.”
Rita nodded and put down the pen, looking at Yulia. “We must always keep learning and improving. Losing once doesn’t matter. You’re still young, but you can’t keep losing forever.”
“That’s true.” Yulia nodded in agreement.
“Yulia, you know you’re turning 23 in just a month, right? Any thoughts about your life partner? As soon as Yulia finished speaking. Kita suddenly asked.
Yulia paused for a moment. “Yes, in a month I’ll be 23, and I haven’t really thought about relationships yet. I think it’s not the most important thing at this stage. No rush”
