On the stage, Cherise supported her grandfather as he stood firmly in front of the microphone.
Shirley, watching the time closely, thought, Logically, the drug effects should have kicked in by now. How is there still no
reaction?

After helping her grandfather, Cherise stepped back and ended up beside Shirley.
Out of the corner of her eye, she glanced at Shirley and, appearing sisterly, took her hand and softly asked, “Shirley, why do you seem troubled? Is something wrong?”
Shirley, feeling a bit guilty, stammered slightly. “N–no, nothing all. Let’s just see what Grandpa has to say!”
Cherise smirked, released her han

After a moment, Oliver said, “Hello, friends and family, thank you for being here. I am Oliver Leach, and Ed like to take a bit of your time.
Today is my granddaughter Shirley’s engagement to Jeffrey of the Chambers family, and I’d like to take this opportunity to distribute shares in my holdings among my grandchildren.”
His announcement caused a lively stir in the audience.
Everyone thought Oliver was being shrewd, choosing this moment to allocate shares; with so many witnesses, no one would dare challenge the distribution afterward.

Oliver continued, “The current share distribution within the Leach Group is as follows: I hold 60%, the first branch holds 10%, the second branch 20%, and the third branch 10%.
“What I am about to say has been drafted with my lawyer as a witness. I hope everyone here can oversee this and serve as a
witness.”
With that, he pulled a piece of paper from his pocket and unfolded it.
Neither Jacob nor Mandy, seated at the host’s table, nor Shirley on the stage, had any idea what surprise Oliver had in store; he seemed mysteriously secretive.
After a couple of coughs, Oliver resumed, “I am now granting Andy and Yves 2% of my shares each, and 1% to Shirley. The remaining 55% will be given entirely to my eldest granddaughter Cherise.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the whole venue was in an uproar. Granting Cherise 55% of the shares essentially placed control of the Leach family in her hands.
Someone remarked, “I thought he chose today to announce this because he wanted to give his shares as an engagement gift to Shirley, but she only got 12. However, this made sense–she is adopted, after all.”
Cherise showed no surprise, standing calmly, neither pleased nor upset..
The first and third branches of the Leach family seemed satisfied with this arrangement.
However, the second branch and the Chambers family were clearly less than pleased.

Shirley couldn’t keep her cool. She had long overheard her parents discussing how she was indeed a true Leach by blood. though they chose to keep it hidden due to societal judgment, leaving her to endure the label of adopted for years.
This injustice stung, especially now as Cherise ended up with authority over her. She refused to accept the arrangement and said, “Grandpa, don’t you think this is a little unfair to me?”
Then Mandy stood up and asked, “Oliver, others might not know, but surely you do, right? Shirley’s your granddaughter too,
isn’t she?”
Jemma, hearing that her future daughter–in–law receiveil so little was upset too. “Mr. Leach, with so many people here. today, surely we shouldn’t show such favoritism, should we?“
Cherise couldn’t help but chuckle, thinking, ‘It’s interesting to show easily they lost their cool.”
Morris also let out a cold laugh. He picked up the red wine from the table, clinked glasses with Truman next to him, and took a sip, as if he was enjoying an interesting show.
Suddenly, Felix from a few tables away slammed his hand down stood up, and strode angrily to the stage.
Before he reached the center of the stage, he declared angrily. “Mr. Leach, I respect you as my family’s in–law, so I won’t get violent with you.”
“In the past, I wasn’t fully established myself, so I worried about public opinion and feared I wouldn’t be able to protect my
sister.
“But today, I have no such fears. Please tell us the truth: whose daughter is Shirley really? Or rather, is she truly a blood member of the Leach family?”
Seeing her brother there, Mandy became more confident and pulled Jacob up beside her.
