My suspicion was confirmed at the ceremony. I seldom beard from Grant
after that accident.
Seeing him in a wheelchair, I felt a pang of sympathy. Three moon–tunts,
so much had changed.
He looked sullen, devoid of joy, as if someone had devoured his spirit
Wanda’s mother looked truly worried. She seemed unhappy.
She asked Wanda to terminate the pregnancy as soon as she heard about it.
Even though Grant had severed ties with me, she knew he still cared about
- me. No matter what Wanda did, it wouldn’t change anything. Besides, Grant was
going to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. She was truly worried that
Grant might change his mind.
To her surprise, Grant agreed to bond with Wanda. For the ceremony, she
did her best to appear calm. She gave Wanda’s hand to Grant, wishing that he
would treat Wanda well.
He didn’t reach out, however. Just as her face darkened, Wanda approached
Grant and pushed him towards the officiant
Despite the accident, the ceremony proceeded. Many events were removed
due to Grant’s condition, but not the ring exchange. Grant held the ring, staring

at it. It was the ring he’d purchased with Rosie.
Now the bonding was happening, but his mate wasn’t Rosie.
Wanda waited, her smile faltering. Then, he murmured.
“Rosie, will you bond with me?”
Her smile vanished. But with so many watching, she couldn’t leave. She
reminded him, “Grant, the rings.”
He snapped back to reality and placed the ring on her finger.
