Liam suppressed a smile, taking a long sip of tea.“So, back in the headlines.
again?”
The altercation had taken place in a public area of the hospital, witnessed
and livestreamed by numerous patients.
Ian rubbed his temples wearily. Ethan and Chloe had been a constant source
of headaches since he’d taken over the company.
“Once they wake up, they’re out of here.”
His mother had protested vehemently, until he threatened to cut them off
financially.
Once they were gone, their drama wouldn’t be his problem anymore.
“I’ll issue a statement. Ethan and Chloe are no longer affiliated with the
Carter family.”
Liam didn’t pry further. He texted the details to Amelia, then started making
plans to return to New Zealand.
He missed her.
Three months later, Amelia and Liam were reunited at the airport, holding

Finally, Amelia looked up, smiling.“I missed you.”
He smiled back, his arms tightening around her. “I missed you too.”

As they walked hand–in–hand towards the exit, they didn’t notice a
woman watching them, her eyes wide with shock.
Ethan’s half–sister, Jessica Carter, stared at Amelia, her mind reeling.
She’d seen Amelia’s body. She’d witnessed the cremation. People didn’t

She replayed the video she’d secretly recorded, zooming in, analyzing every
frame.
Her hand trembling, she sent the video to Ian. She couldn’t send it to Ethan,
not yet. He was too fragile.
Ian’s call came immediately. He didn’t ask about Amelia. He simply said, “If
you want to kill Ethan, send that video to him.”

Jessica hesitated. It was her brother. She didn’t want him to suffer another
breakdown, but she couldn’t bear to see him trapped in his delusion, wasting his
life.
She sent the video to Ethan, then turned and walked away.
In the car, Amelia listened as Liam recounted his trip, adding her own
comments and laughter. As they entered Liam’s house, his phone rang
He answered, his face darkening. He glanced at Amelia, then hung up,
walking towards her, pulling her into a tight embrace, his voice trembling.
“Hope, he knows… he knows you’re alive…”
Liam didn’t have to say his name. Amelia knew. Her heart sank. “So?”
Liam stroked her hair.“Don’t worry. He can’t come after you.”
“Ian won’t let him cause any more trouble. He’s confined to the hospital, his
leg is broken. He can’t travel.”
Liam smiled grimly.“His sister saw you at the airport. She sent him the video,
despite Ian’s warnings.”
