As Crow and Leo stepped outside, they hurried along the wall, eager to reunite with Morris and Cherise.
Before they could reach the staircase, the elevator chimed.
Just as they sought refuge, Morris emerged from the elevator, calinly holding Cherise’s hand.
Seeing them felt like a family reunion, and Crow and Leo rushed forward, excitement clear.
However, they were stopped by the penetrating gazes of Morris and Cherise.
Instantly, Crow and Leo fell silent, exchanging a glance.
Leo spoke up, “So, your boss is Ms. Leach, huh?”
Crow nodded vigorously, glancing at the pair still holding hands. “That’s your boss? Why does he look so familiar?”
Suddenly, realization pierced through Crow’s thoughts. ‘This is the man who won Cherise’s heart. I feel like I’ve seen him somewhere, but I can’t recall.‘
In that moment, a wave of black–clad bodyguards surged in from the stairwells.
Morris and Cherise remained composed, hand in hand, confronted by the dense mass of bodyguards surrounding them.
Crow and Leo instinctively positioned themselves in front of Morris and Cherise.
Crow whispered to Leo, “Could it be that our excitement earlier gave us away?”
Leo, resigned, replied, “It seems likely.”
Darrow approached them, eyes narrowing on the mole displayed on Crow’s face. “It’s you again! I knew you had accomplices.”
Darrow craned his neck to glimpse Morris and Cherise, unable to see their faces but spotting the document bag in Morris’s hand.
He bellowed, “Be sensible and hand over your documents!”
Before he could finish, a stone struck him on the mouth, instantly distorting his features.
Wincing in pain, Darrow covered his mouth, rage flaring as he shouted, “Who hit me?”
Moments later, a chilling feminine voice resonated, “It was me, for the offense of mentioning my boyfriend.”
Morris chuckled at Cherise’s boldness, laughing aloud.
Leo was accustomed to such exchanges.
Meanwhile, Crow was in astonishment. ‘Is that Boss? Am I hearing things?‘
Darrow roared in fury, “Charge at them! Show no mercy! If the boss lays blame, we’re all doomed!”
With those orders, a surge of bodyguards advanced.
Leo and Crow sprang into action, striking their foes with speed and precision, but they were soon overwhelmed.
Moreover, Morris and Cherise quickly spotted snipers stationed on the upper floor.

Upon hearing this, Cherise’s initially cold eyes softened under his guidance. She wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her head against him.
Glancing at the ongoing fight, Crow felt frustrated at Cherise’s seemingly leisurely embrace with Morris, nearly on the verge of tears. “Boss, can you take action? What are you waiting for?”
Yet, it seemed Cherise was oblivious to the commotion around her.
Morris drew his handgun, leaning against the wall with Cherise as he aimed at the snipers on the third floor, dispatching them with precision shots that sent them crashing down.
Upon hearing the gunfire, other bodyguards quickly drew their weapons. Cherise, still nestled against Morris, suddenly lifted her head and asked, “Do you have any other guns?”
Morris, looking down at her affectionately, replied, “Rest for a moment. I’ve got this
Cherise surveyed the continuous influx of enemies and noted the time; it was nearly 1:30 PM, and she had classes tomorrow. Releasing her grip on Morris’s waist, she reached into his pocket and retrieved a silenced pistol.
Departing from his embrace, her gentle demeanor transformed into fierce determination as she declared, “I have to be up early tomorrow. Let me help you.”
Having learned from Hugh that Cherise was a trained marksman, Morris nodded in approval. “Alright, but be careful.” In the next instant, the pair advanced with astonishing speed, their gunfire synchronized with lethal effectiveness. Together, they moved as a deadly duo; Morris executed ruthless precision while Cherise exuded icy detachment, akin to dual furies.
Dozens of black–clad figures fell before them.
Crow and Leo exchanged amazed glances.
Crow mused, “This man is not only handsome but exceptionally skilled.”
Leo pondered, “How many talents does Ms. Leach possess that we haven’t seen?”
As the count of defeated individuals grew, a wave of panic washed over Darrow. “Inform the boss!”
Before he could utter another word, Morris delivered a decisive kick, sending Darrow flying.
Cherise, along with Leo and Crow, followed closely behind Morris as he fought his way through the exit of the chemical plant.
Once outside the Lewis Chemical Plant, Cherise turned toward her sports car but was pulled back by Morris, who asked, “Did you drive here?”
Cherise nodded.
Morris instructed, “Hand me the keys.”
Cherise obediently retrieved the keys and presented them to Morris.
He caught them, tossing them to Leo while addressing Crow, “You two drive. My girlfriend will stick with me.”
