The whole crowd started cheering. The noise almost blew the roof off.
Even Ruby was screaming.
I didn’t know whether to take it or not.
“Jordan, you’ve met my fiancé,” I said.
Even though it was fake.
“I don’t believe your taste could’ve gotten so bad,” he said.
“Just think of it as bad taste,” I said.
“Fine, even if he is real.”
Jordan leaned in slightly, close to my ear.
“Then leave him and come back to me,” he whispered.
His deep voice was like a spell, full of temptation.
I almost gave in.
Just a little more, and I would’ve given in.
After all these years, Jordan was still that handsome.
After the ceremony, the classmates came over to drink with me.
I accidentally drank too much.
All I remember is running to the staircase and sitting down.
No matter how noisy it was outside, the staircase was always the quietest place.
Jordan found me. “What are you doing here?”
