ISABEL’S POINT OF VIEW

“I know you’re heartbroken from everything that has happened onight, but I believe it’s time we get back home before things go out of hand,” Gina advised, and Yuna’s eyes softened it my direction.

“Yes, Gina is right. At this point, you need to go back to the palace. I’ll try to do more findings outside this,” Yuna replied as she stared directly into my eyes.

I moved into her arms and pulled her into a hug as my heart ached in pain. As tears rolled down my eyes again, even my eyes were swollen from the way I had cried this evening.

“I’m sorry for cutting you out the way I did, Yuna. I promise to do better and learn to build the bridges between us,” I whispered, and she nodded with a small smile on her face as we pulled away from the hug, while Yuna wiped the tears that rolled out of her eyes.

“It’s time to leave,” Savannah called out, and I raised my lips as I turned to her.

“Take care of yourself, Yuna,” I muttered under my breath as we made our way out of Grandma Shu’s house and into the night, while still in our disguise.

A lot of crazy things were happening, at this point, I don’t even know what to think. I was scared, confused, and sad about the whole situation. Turning to take one more glance at Grandma Shu’s house, I turned, and we made our way towards the exit.

“I want you to keep things to yourself for now. We don’t want my brothers getting overwhelmed with everything they have just heard.”

“Yes, we would be needing their help in clearing your name, but aside from that, I want you to learn to handle your powers on your own. That’s the most important thing,” Savannah insisted, and I sighed heavily.

“Savannah, I can’t do that. They’re my mates. And you know how important trust is in a relationship…” I trailed off, and she cursed under her breath.

“As much as you would do anything to build what you share with them, it does not change the fact that they would go out of their way to protect the pack. And at this point, you, my friend, pose a threat to the pack that they hold in high esteem,” she cautioned, and I suddenly understood what she meant by what she said.

“Should I be worried?” I asked curiously.

She continued, “Yes, I’m not supposed to be putting fear of doubt in your mind, but my love, there are certain situations you need to handle yourself.”

“I’m sorry about the whole truth about your parents and all, but I advise you to handle yourself like the Luna that you are. It starts from how you handle yourself,” she advised before making her way towards her room.

“Do you want me to see you to your room, Luna?” Gina offered, and I shook my head.

“No, I…want to be left alone,” I murmured, and she muttered an ok before making her way towards the servants‘ quarters.

Immediately, I got to my room, I thought about the different truths, everything pointing towards the fact that these people made me doubt my existence.

Every day of my life, I thought about what I had done wrong that made them hate me to that extent. Now it made sense, they hated me because I was not one of them. Now, this left me with even more questions.

“We can do something fun,” he suggested as we sat down to eat.

“See a movie, play games, whatever you want,” he offered, and I smiled.

“You’re such a good guy,” I uttered truthfully, and he held my hand.

True to his words, we ate from the food he brought and went ahead to see one of the most popular TV shows. “Why is the female lead suddenly hiding from him? I don’t get it, Hayden complained, and I burst out laughing. “You wanted us to see a movie, and you’re not even patient,” I said, and he sighed.

“I wanted to do something you loved doing, Netflix and chill,” he joked and munching on some chips.

“How do you guys even enjoy these things?” he asked, gesturing towards the bag of chips, and I grabbed it from him. “Oh, don’t bad mouth my favourite snack, Hayden,” I chuckled, and he chuckled in return.

“You’re laughing at me,” I remarked and threw a cushion at his face, which he caught, then kissed the corner of my lips romantically, then my forehead.
