Chapter 42
AUTHOR’S POINT OF VIEW
Savannah made her way out of the bathroom and stopped in her tracks when her eyes met Aunt Lucia in her room with an angry expression on her face.
“Lucia,” Savannah began as she stared directly into Lucia’s eyes, who obviously didn’t look pleased by her choice of words, especially with the fact that the young girl was calling her by her name and not the title of Aunt like the boys have always done.
“Savannah, I am your aunt. Your mother’s sister, who stood by her through her hard times and made sure she had the love she deserved even when things went south between your father and herself. If anything, you should give me the respect of an aunt and stop being a spoiled brat,” Lucia hissed angrily.
“Raising your voice at me will not change the fact that I do not regard you as an aunt, and I never would. I’ve been going through shit, and never in your life did you try to stand up to him!” Savannah retorted angrily.
“Stand up to who? Your father? Who am to do something like that? He is the Alpha king and has the final say as to what happens, and what should not happen,” Lucia snapped angrily.
Savannah continued, “Oh… and suddenly it’s now our father that had the final decision? That’s rich coming from a woman who enjoyed the way he treated our mother.”
“Lucia, you can fool everyone else but not me. You never liked that I had the seer gift. Something about the fact that my mom loved and cherished me made you feel like she had a weapon you could never have!” Savannah shot back, and Lucia raised her hand to hit her but stopped halfway as her eyes burned with anger.
“You’re angry? You want to hit me because you suddenly can’t handle the bitter reality?” Savannah asked mockingly.
“Savannah, whatever you think the truth is, that’s definitely not the truth. I stayed with your mother through her hard times!”
“I genuinely loved her. Yes, I made numerous mistakes in the course of my life, but that doesn’t mean I never loved my sister. You can’t stand here and accuse me of something so cruel she snarled, and Savannah chuckled.
“So now I’m suddenly the stupid one? Aunt, I saw you. This is not a vision, I knew you were having an affair with my father. You’ve always been jealous of Mom.” Savannah commented.
“You jated the fact that she was the most loved and then still got to become the Luna while you hid in her shadows. One of the major motives that drove you to my father’s bed,” Savannah accused, and Lucia slapped her across the face angrily.
“Shut up! Shut your mouth, Savannah. I knew you were up to no good. How dare you stand before me and hurt me with your words, you cursed child!” Lucia yelled, as her whole body vibrated in anger…
“I knew what would become of you. Yes, I tried my best to make sure you were sent away from the family because you do not deserve to be amongst us with this attitude of yours,” she seethed, and Savannah looked away as tears rolled out of her
eyes.
“I was never eager to live among the likes of you or my father. It hurts me that I and my brothers don’t share a sibling bond, but aside from that, I prefer staying like this, than getting to bond with you right from that time,” Savannah replied, and Lucia looked away as tears rolled out of her eyes.
“I’m not surprised by your attitude towards me, after all, I expected you to take sides with the cursed Isabel!”
“That girl has brainwashed you and your brothers, making you see me as the enemy when in reality you and that whore are the real enemies. If what Jena says is the truth, I would not be surprised if you join in bringing down the pack one day,” she spat before making her way out of Savannah’s room.

Savannah sat back on her bed and cried hard. The words cut deep because they reminded her of everything she had gone

family, not from a man. Neither would she realize the true meaning of companionship.
“Is everything okay, Ms. Savannah?” Gina inquired as she walked into the room with the tray of fresh fruits Savannah had
sent her.
“Gina,” Savannah murmured as she wiped her tears quickly.
“I saw Lady Lucia a while ago. I don’t need to ask more questions before I figure out what she must have said to you.” Gina muttered.
“After all, her words would leave Isabel hurt and broken. Sometimes, I feel like she enjoys seeing people hurt, and it just baffles me,” Gina commented calmly.
“It’s high time Isabel and I learned to stand up to her, or she’d continue enjoying the feeling of breaking us to her taste, and that annoys me,” Savannah fumed as she walked around the room in anger.
“She hates Isabel so much and feels like Isab

“You need to calm down, Ms. Savannah. I know it’s hard for you to come to terms with the way things have been handled over the years, but this is the new reality…” Gina trailed off.
“Why? Oh, please! The times have changed. This is the 21st century. Enough with trying to indulge the likes of my aunt. Isabel should put her in her place, and act on her role as Luna to protect all of us, because we honestly don’t deserve any of this,” Savannah grumbled as she ran her fingers through her hair out of frustration.
“Everything is going to be okay,” Gina assured her, but Savannah wasn’t having it. She was furious.
HECTOR’S POINT OF VIEW
A lot of things have been going around the pack, and the rumors about Isabel separating the pack keep coming to my head, no matter how hard I try to avoid it.
bullying even as little as we were, he nearly led I guess it has to do with the fact that our father destroyed us with his constant the pack to chaos before his death. Then Aunt Lucia raised us as her biological children.
If anything, that woman has loved and protected us, just like our mom would have. “Hector…” I heard my aunt’s voice as she stood outside my room. My eyes flashed in shock when I noticed she was crying. “Aunt,” I called in surprise as she ran into my arms and broke down crying badly.
“Hey, what is going on? Why are you crying? Did someone say something bad to you?” I inquired as concern washed through
- me.
“Hector, sometimes I feel like I failed my sister. I feel like I did not do enough in my duty to keep and protect this family,” she sobbed, and my heart squeezed with hurt to see her in that situation.
“Aunt, that’s nonsense! Hayden and I are forever grateful for everything you did for us. You are the best part of our childhood. Without you, we wouldn’t even be standing here right now,” I assured her, and her eyes softened in my direction.
“Exactly, without the love I built in this home, the pack would be in chaos. The prophecy is slowly coming to pass because your sister is already fighting against me,” she cried out, and I rubbed my forehead.
“Savannah? Wait, why would Savannah even do something like that?” I asked calmly. She might not know Aunt Lucia that well, but everyone knew better than to try and disrespect the mother figure in our lives. I expected better from Savannah.

“I’ll speak to Savannah. I’m sorry she spoke to you in that manner. Aunt. You don’t deserve any of that, I murmured and kissed her forehead as she smiled through her tears.
“Son, you know I would do everything for you and the well–being of the pack. I know you love and care about Isabel, and I’m not trying to make you hate her. After all, she’s a good girl…” Aunt trailed off, and I smiled.
“She’s a good person.” I responded, and she smiled.
“I just want you to be careful, there is no harm in reaching out to Jena and being five steps ahead. So you can protect the pack.
“Isabel is a witch who has no control over her inbuilt powers. What if they overwhelm her and she decides to put the people’s lives at stake to get what she wants?” Aunt asked, and I rubbed my face anxiously.
“Think about it, son. I should get some rest now,” Aunt whispered as she made her way out of my room. My mind replayed everything she just shared, and I honestly did not know how to feel.
The pack is in grave danger!
