Cherise and Dora stepped out of the CEO’s office just as Jason was returning.
Jason, a standout recruit at GlobalVision Group, had earned his degree from the renowned Yase University at a mere 22.
Known for his sharp work ethic and sharp decision–making skills he swiftly moved from a standard office position to the executive assistant role in a single year.
Dressed to impress in a crisp black suit, Jason stood tall at 6 feet his handsome features and refined look accentuated by full lips, a bright smile, and gold–rimmed glasses that gave off a vibe of controlled charm.
Noticing the pair leaving the office, Jason offered a nod. “Ms. Xenakis, Ms. Leach”
“Oh, Cherise and I are heading out for a bit. Handle anything that comes up, Dora instructed, as she and Cherise made their way to the elevator.
“Sure thing, Jason replied, his eyes following Cherise and Dora until the elevator doors shut and the car began its descent As they disappeared front sight, a smile played on his lips, one that seemed to hold a secret.
Dora and Cherise descended to the lobby, which was now empty of the previously troublesome young woman. But they had other things on their minds,
The lobby was abuzz with the afternoon work crowd, and the sight of their CEO Dora and a radiant, stunning woman leaving the building together sparked a flurry of murmurs and speculation.
Some whispered they could be sisters. Others, aware of Ms. Xenakis’s usual lack of male company, wondered if this woman might be a romantic interest.
There were also those who, having witnessed the scene at noon, speculated that Cherise could be the mysterious figurehead behind GlobalVision Group. The rumors were all over the map.
On the way to the car dealership, Dora glanced at Cherise, who was riding in the passenger seat, and after a moment’s hesitation, she spoke up. “Cherise, about you and Morris?”
“Hmm? What about me and Morris?” Cherise responded.
“Morris seems like a different guy when he’s with you. He keeps women at arm’s length and is all business. But he’s got a softer side around you. You can see it in his eyes–they light up when they’re on you, Dora said.
Cherise thought for a moment and then replied, “Morris is a close friend of Xenia’s uncle. He’s probably just looking out for me as a younger friend.”
Dora shook her head, amused by Cherise’s innocence. “Cherise, you’re still too young to see these things.
Cherise just smiled and said, “Is that so?” She wondered if Morris really acted like that.
Before long, they pulled up to Parallel Auto, a popular car dealership in Betrico. The salesman Lyle was at the entrance, ready to greet clients as Dora stepped out of the car first.
“Ma’am, welcome. It’s an honor to serve you!” Lyle greeted with a deferential nod as Dora emerged.
Dora glanced at his badge and said, “Tyle, the one buying a car today isn’t me. It’s my good friend Ms. Leach who wants a new one,” she gestured towards Cherise, who was stepping out of the car.
Lyle, catching sight of Cherise, nearly lost sure. He’d met his share of socialites and beauties, but none as striking
as Cherise. His nerves kicked in.

“Ms. Leach, nice to meet you, What kind of car are you looking for? Lyle asked, his gaze darting away from Cherise’s.
Cherise gave Lyle a friendly smile and said, “Nothing too pricey Just something with good performance. You can recommend something for me.”
Lyle felt a wave of relief. He’d dealt with his fair share of snobby clients, but Cherise’s kindness was a breath of fresh air. His nerves settled.
Straightening his shoulders, he confidently presented a model to Cherise, ‘Ms. Leach, consider this Porsche Panamera. It’s got the performance and price point you’re looking for, and the black color is subtle yet elegant, with a stylish and classic
interior.”
Before Lyle could finish his sales pitch, Cherise cut in. “Yeah, Take this one.”
Lyle looked at Cherise, taken aback. “Huh? No, Ms. Leach, I haven’t finished introducing it. Maybe you should take a look and take it for a spin.”
Cherise smiled faintly and said, “No need. I trust you. I’ll buy this one.”
As she finished speaking a high–pitched; affected voice rang out from behind. “Cherise, is that you? Oh, Cherise. It really is you. I thought I was mistaken. Are you here to buy a car too?”
Cherise didn’t need to turn around; she recognized Shirley’s voice the moment it hit her ears.
