Sitting across from each other at the dining table after polishingoff their meal, Morris caught Cherise’s puzzled expression and said. “Cherise, you’re curious about what happened last night, right?”
Hearing that, Cherise let out a soft chuckle and nodded.
With an affectionate look, Morris told her. “Nothing much. You bad a drink with a bit of plum wine in it. You were on your best behavior and just played two tunes for everyone. Everyone loved it.”
“Is that all?” Cherise had an inkling that a little alcohol might affect her, but she never knew exactly how. Every time she woke up and asked, people would tell her everything was fine, so she didn’t press the issue.
She was skeptical, but it was Morris talking. He had no reason to deceive her.
“Yep, you can ask Xenia and the others,” Morris said with a confident look. He didn’t want to embarrass Cherise. He believed such a wonderful person like her should remember only the good things.
“Did you bring me back rere?” Cherise asked, her brow furrowing slightly.
“Yep, I happened to be passing by Ebb & Flow Morris replied earnestly. Seeing Cherise’s pensive look, Marris added, “I didn’t have the code to your place, so I brought you to mine. That’s how you ended up here when you woke up.”
Cherise looked at Morris, pursed her lips, and remained silent. Then, she let out a light laugh, thinking to herself, as the wealthiest man in Clusia, Morris could have any beauty he wanted with just a snap of his fingers.
Moreover, deep down, she trusted Morris. He wasn’t the type to take advantage of someone in a vulnerable state,
Morris hadn’t expected two milliliters of plum-wine to affect Cherise so much. Luckily, Truman had given him a heads–up just in time.
He thought to himself. If I hadn’t been there, what would have happened? I can’t let her touch alcohol again. How can Cherise, with her exceptional medical skills and ability to discern various drugs, be so oblivious when it comes to food and drink?
His thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door, and Leo entered, his eyes widening as he looked at Morris and Cherise sitting opposite each other.

Seeing Leo standing there silently, Morris frowned slightly. “If you have something to say, spit it out.”
“Oh! Leo snapped out of it. “Mr. Chivers. Ms. Leach, you’re awake. Here’s your phone,” he said, handing Cherise her phone. Cherise nodded slightly to Leo. “Thank you,
“You’re welcome. Ms. Leach, Leo replied with a smile. Then he continued, “Ms. Leach, you’re my idol. Not only are you a doctor, but you also play so many instruments so well. I’m a huge fan“”
Cherise was taken aback and asked Leo, “I played a lot of instruments last night? I thought it was just two tunes.”
Leo froze, catching Morris’s glare. His mind raced as he responded. “Yes, just two tunes, with several instruments played, and then you fell asleep. Mr. Chivers was worried about your safety at Ebb & Flow, with many admirers around, so he brought you back.”
After saying this, he glanced at Morris again and saw that his glare had subsided, so he let out a sigh of relief.

Cherise understood and thought to herself. ‘Well, as long as nothing happened. Just two tunes; it doesn’t matter how many instruments I played.
Feeling at case, she got up and looked at Morris. “Thank you for e risotto and for looking after me last night. I won’t keep you any longer.”
Morris watched as Cherise got up to leave. Feeling like he was about to lose a treasure, he wanted to ask her to stay but was unsure of how to say it.
As Cherise was almost at the door, he quickly said, “Cherise, my randmother has been taking the medicine you prescribed, and she seems almost better, but I’d still like to trouble you to check on her again.”
Sure enough, as soon as he finished speaking, Cherise turned around and replied, “Yes, a follow–up visit is needed. Let’s tomorrow morning.
She had made some pills yesterday, intending for Morris to give them to Phoebe, but now she planned to bring them directly to her tomorrow.
Morris felt relieved upon hearing this. He gave Cherise a genuine smile and said, “Alright, let’s make it tomorrow.”
