ISABEL’S POINT OF VIEW
“My Luna, are you okay? should I get you water?” Gina asked as she rushed over to me, fear evident in her voice.
“Gina I’m fine, you look nervous. What’s wrong?” I replied, and her eyes softened in my direction.
“You happened to be in a very bad shape last night. I don’t know what happened to you, but Alpha Hayden was furious at me. It’s all my fault that I did not stick close to you as I should have,” she muttered feeling guilty, and I stared at her with mixed emotions.
Gina has always been one to control her emotions no matter how hard it gets, and here she was struggling to keep herself in one piece.
“I got so scared when I saw you in that state….” she trailed off, and I held her hand.
“Look at me sweetheart, it is not your fault that any of that happened last night okay?”
“Hey, look at me, you tried your best to stick close to me. Besides, it was late and I permitted you to call it a night, remember? I reminded her, and she nodded as she tried not to shed tears.
“What happened to you?” she questioned curiously, and I got down from the bed.
“I can’t really explain for now Gina, but one thing I’m certain of, is the fact that I’m might be going crazy,” I blurted out, and she shook her head immediately.
“You are not crazy. Savannah believes your powers are surfacing and the more that happens, the more difficult it would be for you to control them if you don’t start now,” she explained, and I rubbed my forehead.
“The same powers that Jena thinks would bring an end to the pack’s existence?” I questioned.
“Gina I just looked at the glass in my room and it shattered into a million pieces. How am I supposed to live with the reality that I’m different?” I uttered, unable to control my emotions as tears rolled out of my eyes.
“Oh Luna,” Gina called, as she walked into my arms, as she tried to console me.
“Maybe you should talk to Savannah. Try to get her to explain things to you. I also think it’s important that you accept what has happened to you and try to be happy,” she suggested, and I sniffed back my tears.
I was trying so hard to be strong even when the urge to break down was just so strong in my spirit.
“Do you want to talk about anything else, I can sit with you and listen to you all day if it helps you feel better.” she insisted, and I shook my head.
“No dear, I need you to check up on Grandma Shu with me today,” I announced, walking towards the bathroom and she stared at me like I had completely lost it.
“Check on grandma shu? My Luna you know the lprinces have forbid you from leaving the pack house. I will be punished for it if anything wrong happens,” she tried to plead with me as she fought the urge to cry.
“You should breathe, take a shower get some breakfast and rest. I think the whole going out to look for Grandma Shu on your own is crazy idea, with all the madness going on in the pack,” she advised, and I stared at her.
“Gina you made a promise to stand by me no matter what happens, you can’t just wake up one morning and decide to back out. You are my companion, my best friend,” I asserted, and her eyes softened in my direction.
“If seeing Grandma Shu will make you happy, I believe I can pull a few strings with Xavier,” she suggested, and she walked

out of my room giving me space to freshen up and change into something more presentable.
“I also think we should stay back at the pack house, didn’t you tell me there were protesters in the streets the other time? What if we get hurt? Gina asked, and I chuckled.
“I thought you were determined to explore? what happened to your exploring spirit?” I teased.
“Oh, please, Isabel. I’d rather stay here and enjoy our mates than get us into trouble,” she retorted, and I sighed.
“I’m not trying to cause trouble, babe. With everything going on, Grandma Shu is my greatest support, and it makes me restless that I haven’t heard from her since we last spoke,” I confided, and Gina fell silent for a moment.
“Fine, whatever. As long as we don’t get into trouble, I’m good,” she muttered, and I smiled. I wore a green dress that complemented my skin, making me feel pretty.
“I brought someone special,” Gina announced, stepping aside as Savannah walked in.
“Wait, what?” I asked in shock.

“You think leaving the pack alone is crazy, but involving Savannah isn’t? Are you trying to get us all in trouble?” I protested, and Savannah sat on my bed, acting nonchalant.
“I met Gina on my way here. I can’t believe your stubbornness, Isabel. If you want things your way, I’d rather accompany you than let you go alone,” Savannah stated, and I sighed.
“Grandma Shu lives amongst the locals in the pack. If we want to check up on her, we would have to go into the pack, with you, and you know what that means when they get hold of you, I pointed out calmly.
“It wouldn’t be any worse than if they caught you. They believe I’m dead and will see me alive, looking the same as the last time they saw me. My curse would be revealed, my brothers would escalate the situation, and the pack would spiral into chaos. The same would happen if you got caught, so think it through!” Savannah advised.
“I suggest you let go of Grandma Chewing for now,” Savannah advised wisely.
“It’s Grandma Shu,” I corrected, as Gina chuckled from across the room, clearly enjoying this.
“So you got her on your side, and now I should listen?” I asked, and Gina laughed.
“You can’t blame me, Luna. You wouldn’t listen to me, so I had to bring in backup,” Gina confessed, and I she sat down close to my dressing table.
“Babe you had no idea what happened last night, my brothers would have roasted Gina on the spot if I wasn’t here.”
“While making certain decisions, I advise you to put the consequences of your actions in mind,” Savannah advised, and I somehow felt bad for what I caused.
“I… apologise for everything you went through because not me Gina, it was never my intention to try to get you in trouble,” I confessed, and she smiled softly.
Gina reassured me, “I understand you are anxious and you need answers, trust me, we will get
the
answers you
need.”
“All we have to do is exercise some level of patience. I have talked to Xavier, he will keep an eye on Grandma Shu, and inform us the minute he sees her,” Gina promised, and relief wash over me.
We were still talking about random things when Hayden walked into my room without knocking. His eyes moved from Savannah to Gina, then to me and the worry on his face faded almost immediately.
“I guess this is our cue to leave the couple alone,” Savannah teased, and a blush spread through my cheeks as he smirked in
my
direction. The girls left, and I looked at him, feeling shy.

“Hey,” I mumbled softly, and he sat next to me on the bed.

“Hey? Is that all you’re going to say to me after scaring the living daylights out of us yesterday?” he inquired jokingly, and my eyes flashed with guilt.
“It was never my intention to get you guys worked up like that, but it happened and I don’t know what to say about it,” I admitted, glancing up at him, and he stared into my eyes.
“I know Isabel, but Savannah thinks you should be more easy on yourself. You can start by accepting the fact that you are different and that doesn’t make you bad. It’s what makes you strong, beautiful and our Luna” he encouraged me, I smiled trying to embrace my new self in my mind.
How do I even explain to him that my insecurities were getting the better of me, and I no longer have the slightest idea on how to handle myself?
All my life, I’d faced different levels of rejection, first from my mates, then the pack members, and even Hector, though he was starting to like me, I guessed. But I thought breaking the curse would give me some level of happiness and freedom, but here am I, back to square one, I was back to the unbearable pain that made me depressed.
“Tell me what’s on your mind. We can start by figuring out what’s going on in that head of yours,” he prompted as he entwined his hand with mine.
“I’m scared, Hades. Deep down, I don’t know what’s going to happen, and that uncertainty is driving me to the edge,” I revealed, crying bitterly, unable to control my emotions.
“Hey, look at me. It’ll be tough, I won’t promise otherwise. Leadership comes with sacrifice. But Hector and I are here to give you the care and protection you deserve. We might not be the prince charmings you dreamed of, but we’re willing to be your modern day princes,” he teased, and I chuckled through my tears.
“That’s smooth,” I replied, making him laugh.
“You look so beautiful when you smile, my joy,” he murmured, and I blushed.
How does one handle two hot mates? Because I’m definitely swooning, I thought.
“We can do this together, all three of us,” he assured, and I felt better than ever after speaking to Hayden.
