Chapter 34
ISABEL’S POINT OF VIEW
After my conversation with Savannah the other day, I wanted answers, if not to everything, then at least to what brought Jena into our pack and why she was making false allegations against me.
It’s been a week since the protests began, and I’m unable to leave the house because there’s a possibility I could get hurt in the process, which breaks my heart.
“My Luna,” Gina bowed in respect as she entered my room.
“Gina, how was it? Were you able to talk to Grandma Shu?” I inquired, and she shook her head.
“No, Grandma Shu wasn’t around. I waited for hours, but there was no sign of her anywhere,” she revealed, and I stared at her, shocked.
“Grandma Shu never leaves her house. If she left and hasn’t returned, then I think something is wrong,” I remarked, and she raised her eyebrows.
“What if she travelled out of the pack or something?” Gina suggested.
“No, I sense something’s wrong,” Ryna spoke to me telepathically, and I rubbed my forehead.
“Gina, something is wrong. I can’t place my hand on it just yet, but something is definitely wrong,” I paced around my room.
“Grandma Shu isn’t the type to travel out of the pack. She hs never left because she has no family to visit. Her whole life has been here in the pack with her human mate. If she left, then someone may have hurt her or perhaps she went to get something. Her number isn’t going through,” L’explained calmly
“Should I inform the princes on your behalf? If you think something happened to Grandma Shu, then now is the right time to act,” she suggested, and I nodded.
“I’ll inform Hayden,” I decided, leaving the room with Gina following behind. We arrived at the sitting room, and Aunt Lucia looked at me with disgust in her eyes.
“You’ve done nothing but bring pain to this family. The pack members are out in the streets, protesting for the well–being of this prestigious pack. The least you could do for us is back out and leave this pack as if you never existed!” she snapped, and I stared at her in disbelief. Her words hurt, but I was too tired to respond.
“The brothers have stayed united with the pack ever since they lost their parents. For years, they’ve been united, but maybe, just maybe Jena was right when she gave that prophecy!” She pointed at me.
“You will become the reason this pack is divided,” she accused, and I could no longer take her words. They hurt like hell.
“I have no intention of separating the brothers or the pack, but I’m beginning to think Jena was a setup out of the pack. Maybe you’re part of it,” I retorted, and her eyes widened in shock.
“Yes, I loathe you with every fibre of my body, but I wouldn’t stoop that low!” She steered.
order to get me
“I believe you’re not meant to be Luna, and no matter how long it takes, you will leave this pack,” she declared angrily, storming out of the room. Her words insulted me, no matter how calm I tried to remain;l, they just had a way of getting to
- me.
“You look stressed and sad, my Luna. Don’t let Lady Lucia get to you. She can be everything evil and more. I think we just have to prove to the pack members that the allegations against you are all false,” Gina advised, but I felt too upset to respond.

Chapter 34
I bit my lips in anger, “I just need to talk to Hayden or Hector. I can’t let them hurt me like this. Maybe everyone in the pack thinks like Lady Lucia. It’s only a matter of time before they spread these harsh words to everyone willing to listen.”
It breaks me… I… I don’t know what to do or how to think about it. I feel broken and alone,” I said, as my voice shook
“Oh, dear,” Gina murmured, pulling me into a comforting hug.
Giving up on finding Hayden and Hector, I went back to my room to get some sleep. I was too exhausted to deal with more emotional turmoil in my head. Lying in bed, I tried to rest.
“Please!”
“Don’t hurt me, please!” I cried as I ran down a dark alley, trying to escape my attacker.
“Please! No… No… please, don’t hurt me! I beg of you!” I pleaded in fear as I reached the end of the road. Everything looked blurry and terrifying, making it hard for me to breathe.
“Stop running!” I heard a voice in my head and screamed, waking up suddenly as I breathed shakingly, panting in bed.
My eyes moved to the glass on the table, and it shattered right in front of me, making fear flow through me. I struggled to catch my breath as beads of sweat rolled down my face.
This is real!
It was reality. I had stared at the glass, and it broke right before my eyes. What if Jena was right? I tried to breathe, but my racing thoughts overwhelmed me.
“Oh my goodness! Isabel! Isabel… breathe, please try to breathe… Savannah’s voice reached me as I struggled to calm down. She rubbed my back and kept talking, but soon I couldn’t hear her anymore. I was scared to death!
“Isabel… Isabel,” was what I heard, and then everything went black.
HECTOR’S POINT OF VIEW
“What did you say happened to her again? Gina, I asked you to keep an eye on her. What the hell happened to Isabel?” Hayden burst out angrily, and Gina lowered her head, tears streaming down her face.
“I swear she was doing quite well before I went to bed. In fact, she dismissed me herself,” Gina replied, staring at her feet.
“Hades, she’ll be fine. You just have to stay calm,” I reassured him. I had developed a liking for Isabel, but if we both reacted this way, Gina might pass out from the tension alone.
“She must have had another realistic dream. That is the only way to explain her reaction. When you start seeing things and don’t know how to control your power or channel your energy, it can become overwhelming, causing you to pass out,” Savannah explained, and I stared at her in surprise.
“Powers?” Hayden and I questioned in unison.
“Isabel is gifted, she has unique abilities that even she hasn’t fully realized. Somehow, I can sense it when her powers overwhelm her, like today,” she revealed, standing up from the bed.
“She has powers? How are we supposed to explain that to the pack members who don’t even trust that she has a white wolf? They believe Isabel’s curse will bring the pack down, all thanks to that seer!” I vented, frustrated.
“This whole situation is getting more and more complicated! How are we supposed to protect her when we don’t even understand what is happening with our mate?” Hayden asked angrily, as he breathed heavily.
Beneath his frustration, I could see the care he had for her, something I was still working on expressing. We’d started off on the wrong foot, and we were still trying to get comfortable with each other.

Chapter 34
“We should let her rest, we can check on her in the morning,” Savannah advised, tying her hair up in a bun.
“But someone should stay with her…” I trailed off.
Savannah stated, “So let’s allow her to sleep. I’ll talk to her first thing tomorrow. You can check in later in the day. If she sees both of you, it might make her feel worse.”
“Isabel has gone through hell, and I’m sure you understand what I mean. With everything she’s faced, it will be hard for her to open up more about herself. The more she discovers, the greater her trust issues may become. I believe she’ll trust me because we’re both gifted,” Savannah explained.
“Thank you for your help, Savannah. I don’t know how things would’ve turned out without someone who understands her gift,” I said, and Savannah smiled softly.
“We all need to keep a close watch on her, there are tougher days ahead. With Jena and her enemies within the pack, Isabel isn’t safe. Discovering her powers has only exposed her to more danger,” she explained, and tension filled the air as my eyes drifted to the sleeping beauty on the bed.
“She’s still finding herself, and when she does, the forces in the dark will come for her white wolf. You must protect her…” Savannah trailed off.
“Sh!t! This is intense,” Hayden muttered, rubbing his forehead in frustration.
Indeed, everything about Isabel’s presence was becoming more and more intense with each passing day.
Aunt Lucia disliked her, the pack members under Jena’s influence would do anything to prevent her from ruling as Luna, and her backstabbing sisters seemed determined to make things worse.
“Goodnight, brothers,” Savannah said, leaving the room. Hayden’s eyes met mine, and I knew he had the same thoughts running through his mind.
