Chapter 62
Quinn
I chased Fleur out of my room after taking a warm hath and slumped into the bed. My mind was filled with thoughts of how thrilling and fun it would be to go to a country where I’d have Ana to myself.
The offer would be hard for her to decline because it’s a big offer.
My mind went to her assistant and a frown crossed my face.
What is she suggesting that her assistant goes in her place instead? Then I’d be damural
With t
h the mixed feelings 1 had. I decided to sleep it out and let the next day decide.
1 got up as early as I could and began preparations for the meeting. The meeting was by team but I was all ready to move by nine thirty am
I answered Veronica’s greeting with him at
and walked out to meet Fleur waiting for me in the car.
“Hmm, you look happy for some
The strange reason today” He said and I smiled sweetly
“There’s only one reason and one person that can make you smile like this and I wonder what it is this time” He said with his left finger on his jaw while his right finger controlled the steering wheel.
“One would think that you’re a woman with the way you want to know everything about me. Why not make your life interesting too and share your
“Nah, you’re really good at griting entangled and telling stories so I’ll pass” He said with a wave of my hand and I hissed.
“Well, my partners called to tell me about an event that they’ll be having next month outside the country and they want me to organize the event just like 1 did for Roberts and they also want Ana to be in charge of the refreshments like the case of Mr. Roberts, I explained and he nodded thoughtfully.
“Now I see the cause of your happiness, Who would’ve believed that you would be so excited to spend time with your refused to stay within the same space for up to an hour is the same woman you’re all over the moon for because an opportunity to be with her
ir ex–wife? A woman who you provided inelf? Fleur spoke with a serious tone and I felt like pulling out his front teeth
He was always fond of reminding me of the past and the way I treated her. That was one thing about Fleur. When you refuse to take his advice, and his words realize just like he warned, he would take every opportunity to call you out and taunt you for not listening to his words.
And now, I would re–hear this for the long years of my life.
“You know what Never mind, just drive me to my meeting” I said looking outside the window and he sneered at me.
We got to the company and I walked into the meeting hall filled with other shareholders. The rate at which people wanted to be a shareholder in her company was alarming I was glad that I grabbed the opportunity while it presented itself. I could have been wallowing in regrets now that the offer has been closed.
I scanned the faces of the shareholders who were already in their seats and I noticed one of them, Kelvin.
I knew he was a businessman who also owned one of the biggest restaurants in town. I hadn’t visited his restaurant but I’ve heard a lot of good review about it.
He looked at me with scorn and I paused for a minute to ask myself if I knew him from anywhere. Nowhere was coming to mind and I concluded that it must be the result of the rumours carried about concerning me
I shrugged it off and waited for Ana to come in. When she came in, she greeted us and her assistant shared some clipped A–four papers before taking a sit beside her. She still carried her face and acted like she didn’t know who I was
She must be heard what happened between Ana and ine so I didn’t blame her.
“Thank you all for coming even with the short notice: I wanted to have a meeting with the company’s shareholders after the offer was closed so that we could also use the time to get to know each other physically” She started, her soft words sending sparks through my skin.
“If you go through the paper in front of you, you will see that we are having a bit of an issue. Now, the initial idea behind the creation of this company is to produce a fast food version of our main dishes that customers enjoy” She paused to look around the table and continued when everyone’s gaze returned to her frame
“We believe that most of our customers don’t have the time to visar die restaurant
(the weekdays because of their work routines so we wanted
to produce last foods that are also filling that they can grab or order Trunket in town and microwave within minutes.”

“A lot of you would agree to me that it’s not everyone that has the means to get a cook employed in their houses and get freshly made food with the needed nutrients in them and it’s not everyone that has the energy to make food for themselves after a long and hectic day at work. We all nodded at her words and she continued.
I wondered how prepared she was that she didn’t even glance at the paper in front of her for once
“This has made a lot of workers develop different sicknesses from cancer to kidney or lung disease because they eat over–processed foods with preservatives in them. Our foods are going to be preserved with solar–powered freezers that would be in all stores that have our products so that they would be frozen at all times and would only need some minutes in the microwave.” She looked at us once again to be sure that we were following before she continued.
I just followed her with my eyes, looking at her succulent lips move as she passed the information and her fierce, business–like face as she spoke. It intrigued me how she changed this much. What fueled her desire to become this woman of value?
“Now, here is where the problem is” She said, cutting me from my thoughts and I could feel everyone’s cars spark up.
“Most of the food–based companies in New York deal with fresh frozen foods. The last five companies that tried to do this type of business folded. up in the last two years and the survey also showed that this business doesn’t strive in this city as the people are used to their normal fast foods that don’t need microwaving or refrigerating it to preserve it?
“We started fresh frozen foods when the company was opened and we have sold a couple bags from the ones we bought but that is not what we intend to do. I called you all here for a bit of advice or ideas or thoughts on both options. If you say we should stick to the original plan, you can tick the black box on the sheet of paper before you and if you say we should stick to the fresh frozen food that we started with not to risk loss, then tick the blue box below the black one” She said and the shareholders got to work
“Mr. Quinn, do you have a problem with your paper?” Her assistant asked when she caught me staring at her boss. I gritted my teeth replied with a stiff “no” before looking down at the paper.
