Chapter 71
I could already feel myself visibly calming down. The positive vibes of the whole place made it easier for the nerves eating at me to reduce.
“Please have your seat.” A man gestured to the seat before them. “My name is Caesar. I’m the company owner. We welcome you to the interview.”
“Thank you so much for having me.” I smiled.
He had a sincere attitude which I found surprising. It was a stark contrast to the pretentiousness of the interviewer back at Agnrs‘ company.
Something about Caesar seemed…genuine. He looked like he was going to bare everything to me the way it was and would not bother with sugar–coating anything.
The interview went on with them asking me about my qualifications, education and a couple of other things. As time passed, I found myself more comfortable with the questions and feeling more confident than I’d ever felt before.
The interviewers looked to be around the same age range as me so it was a welcoming and positive atmosphere.
“That’ll be all the questions we have. We’ll get back to you on our decision. Once again, thank you for coming here.” Caesar said with a smile.
“I look forward to working with your team.” I smiled.
We exchanged some more pleasantries before I eventually left the company with Haelor. That night, I received an acceptance letter to officially join the company as an employee.

The joy I felt was without any bound. Despite the hiccup from Agnrs‘ company and what transpired back then, I’d managed to land another job. I’d managed to overcome everything notwithstanding.
I felt over the moon with joy.
The next day, Haelor was sure to keep to his promise and drove me to my work place. I

thanked him and watched as his car sped off.
My first day at work was far better than my day had been back at Agnrs‘ company, I was introduced to a couple of my co–workers who were incredibly friendly. They seemed gled to show me around the ropes and explained all I’d need to know about how work was done at
the company.
For something that was described as work, I actually ended up enjoying my day there and even looked forward to going the next day,
It continued like that, with Haelor taking me to and from work whenever he was off duty, It didn’t take long before my team started to notice the mysterious, handsome man who was always dropping me off and taking me home after work.
One particular evening when Haelor came to pick me up from work, they couldn’t hide their curiosity anymore.
“Is he your boyfriend, Adella?” One of my co–workers, Yuri, asked. She had a curious glint in her eyes as she waited for an answer.
“No,” I shook my head. “He’s actually my childhood friend. We were forced apart for over a decade but we were just recently reunited.”
Yuri and some of my co–workers all nodded in understanding. Haelor looked a bit disheartened as he stepped closer to me.
Did something happened? He never frowned whenever he came to pick me, always putting on a soft demeanour just for me. What had happened now?
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
He let out a breath and casually replied. “Nothing. It’s just…I heard Froste asked about you.”
That was surprising. “What? Why is he asking of me? What else does he want from me?
The more I thought about it, the angry I got. He was the reason behind the whole drama with Agnrs and here he was, still trying to put up some innocent front.
Why was he reaching out to me now? What did he possibly want from me after everything that had happened?

“Let’s find out.” Haclor simply said.
With that, we made our way to the car and headed out to meet Froste, Haelor already knew the destination where Froste had asked to meet.
When we got to the building, I let out a breath I didn’t know I’d been holding all this time. Haelor was carefully watching me throughout everything.
I could tell he was concerned about my wellbeing but I had to be brave, I couldn’t have him worrying and fretting over me like I was a child. I was a grown adult. It was time to act like
one.
We made our way into the building where Froste was already seated at a table. His eyes seemed to light up as he saw me.
I kept an impassive expression as we made our way to his table.
“What do you want?” I went straight to the point.
He cleared his throat, pushing some documents towards me. Judging by the stamp and its content, I could tell it was from the Royal Academy.
“Cyrus already prepared those for me.” I pushed the papers back to him.
He gazed down at it for a while before turning to me. His eyes held a certain gentleness and remorse that would have sent nerves through my stomach.
“I just wanted to see you. I’ve missed you.”
Before I could respond, Haelor grabbed the coffee on the table and splashed it on Froste.
