Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Someone asked about the situation with Larry. Jonathan narrowed his eyes and said, “Whoever’s caused the problem will have to deal with the fallout themselves.”
He wanted to see how long Giselle could hold out when she had no one to rely on in Seaworth City. As long as she was obedient, he didn’t mind putting a roof over her head and giving her some help. They’d been together for seven years, after all. He didn’t think she could sever their ties so easily.
Unless… Jonathan thought about the gown Giselle had worn to Richard’s birthday celebration. His annoyance surged. Who the hell had given her the gown?
The others in the room shut up when they sensed his irritation.
Outside, Giselle leaned against the wall, thinking about the conversation she’d just heard. Once upon a time, she’d considered these people her friends. Now, they were badmouthing her behind her back. It was revolting.
She didn’t stay there any longer–the conversation had destroyed her good mood. She went to the restroom and washed her face, feeling a lot more lucid after that.
Her irritation was strong, as was the urge to hit someone. She had to hold herself back.
Giselle hurried back to her private room, so preoccupied that she didn’t notice the figure behind her. Charlotte only revealed her malicious expression when the door shut before her.
Jonathan had asked her to join him at the bar; she didn’t expect to see Giselle when touching up her makeup in the restroom. The jealousy she’d felt in the past surged in her, and a plan formed in her mind. Tonight, she was going to stomp all over Giselle and ensure she couldn’t recover from this!
So what if Richard liked Giselle? Jonathan was the one who would call the shots in the future! As long as Jonathan despised Giselle, she would forever be stuck in the lowest level of society.
“What the hell is wrong with you, Charlotte?” Giselle turned, her annoyance peaking when she saw Charlotte.
For once, Charlotte didn’t waste her time talking nonsense. She strode to the table and grabbed a half–drunk bottle of beer. Then, she poured it over herself as Giselle watched in surprise.
Her hair became plastered to her face, and she reeked of alcohol. This wasn’t enough, though. She gritted her teeth and smashed the bottle on her arm. Then, she fell to the floor and started crying.
Giselle stared at her. Had she escaped from the asylum? Soon, however, she knew why Charlotte had acted the way
she had.
“I’m sorry, Giselle. I’ll leave Jonathan… Please, stop hitting me…”
Footsteps rang out behind them. Jonathan happened to arrive as Charlotte spoke. His blood boiled, and he roared, “Giselle Stone!”
Caught off guard, Giselle was shoved aside. Her shoulder, which was still injured, rammed against the wall. Pain washed over her, and she paled.
Jonathan hurried over to Charlotte and took off his coat, wrapping her in it. She curled up in his arms and trembled fearfully. The blood on her arm was a frightening sight.
This was an urgent situation. Jonathan lifted her into his arms. As he strode past Giselle, he snarled, “I’m not going to let you off the hook for this, Giselle.”

He left with Charlotte. The rest of the trust fund babies with him shared looks before deciding to teach Giselle a lesson. They squeezed into the private room and shut the door.
This made the alarm bells go off in Giselle’s mind. She surreptitiously backed toward the couch, wanting to grab her phone to call the cops. However, a man with dyed green hair noticed this and snatched her phone.
“I’ve told you this before, Giselle–Jon doesn’t like you anymore. You wouldn’t have ended up in this miserable state if you’d agreed to be my lover.”
