Chester had an idea of what had happened after checking the surveillance footage at the management office– someone had thrown rotten eggs and trash outside Giselle’s condominium. His gaze turned cold, but she was calm.
The staff at the management office suggested Giselle make a police report. “Do you need us to call the police for you, Ms. Stone? The perpetrator’s face is clearly captured, so it’ll be easy to catch him…”
She turned him down and clenched her fists. “I know who did it.”
Usually, people covered their faces or disguised themselves when doing bad things, but this guy had even challenged them through the camera. It was apparent that he wasn’t afraid of getting caught because he had someone backing him up.
Chester asked, “Do you need my help?”
“No.” Underneath Giselle’s calm facade was a furious heart. Did they really think she was a pushover? They were wrong, then!
It was already 11:00 pm, but Giselle barged into the Grant residence all the same. The maids couldn’t stop her, so they hurriedly summoned the villa neighborhood’s security guards.
Linda and Charlotte were in the living room. The former applied an ice pack on the latter’s face, her heart aching at the sight. “Does it hurt, Lottie?”
Charlotte shook her head. “I’m okay. Don’t blame Giselle for this, Mom. She would still be the Grant family’s heiress if not for my return.”
“That’s nonsense! She’s just a faker who took over your place! If not for her, you wouldn’t have had to suffer out there for so many years… You’re just too kind, child. Don’t ever say anything like this from now on, okay? You’re the only daughter we have, and you’re your brother’s only sister!” Linda cried.
Her tone became firmer toward the end of her sentence. This was the attitude Charlotte wanted to see She said, ” At the very least, she did accompany you and Dad on my behalf.”
“She accompanied us? All she did was cause trouble! I really wonder what her biological parents are–” Linda was gearing up for a tirade about Giselle when a rotten egg flew her way. There wasn’t enough strength behind the throw, so it landed at her feet.
Her face turned steely when she smelled the stench. She whipped up her head to see Giselle standing at the door with a bag full of rotten eggs.
Charlotte gasped. “Giselle?”
Then, her gaze became shifty. She was clearly diffident. At the same time, she wondered whether Giselle had already discovered that she had sent someone to provoke her.
Giselle didn’t say a word. Instead, she started attacking them with the rotten eggs. If they were too slow to avoid her, the eggs would land on them. This was especially true for Linda–the eggs landed on her head, matting her hair.
“Are you out of your mind, Giselle?” she screamed, and it reverberated through the villa.
Harold, who was rudely awakened from his sleep, came downstairs to be greeted by havoc. He scowled and barked, “Stop right there, Giselle!”
It didn’t achieve anything, though. She continued throwing the eggs until she ran out. The stench made Linda and

Charlotte break down. They wanted to kill Giselle!
She watched them mockingly while standing there with her back straight. Then, she said calmly, “I’m just returning the favor.”
Charlotte had been petty enough to send someone after her because she’d slapped her, so Giselle was now returning the favor. There wasn’t anything wrong with that, right?
As for the rotten eggs at this hour, Giselle had to thank Chester and his money for that. She mentally took that
down.
Charlotte held Linda’s arm, supporting the latter as she glared at Giselle. “Apologize to Mom right now, Giselle!”
As far as she remembered, Giselle was an idiot who didn’t talk much. She would suffer in silence no matter what happened–even when kicking up a fuss after seeing Jonathan and Charlotte together, she would be the first to cave and ask Jonathan for forgiveness. She was spineless.
So, her insane behavior was baffling. Could it be she’d lost her mind after being pushed too far?
“Why should I apologize when I haven’t done anything wrong? I told you I’m just returning the favor.” Giselle paused poignantly before raising an eyebrow and smiling. “Are you guys happy with this gift?”
Linda trembled with rage, unable to form a coherent sentence. Just then, Harold joined them. He was like Linda and Charlotte’s savior. He shielded them behind him and glared at Giselle, his demeanor commanding. It was the result of spending an extended period in a leadership position.
When Giselle was still the Grant family’s heiress, she was terrified of Harold. He had been strict with her since childhood and would reprimand her even if she scored 99 marks out of 100.
“Get on your knees, Giselle!” he roared, his face filled with rage.
She kept her back straight and looked him in the eye without a hint of fear. This only infuriated him more–he couldn’t stand seeing people disobey him. Giselle’s refusal to submit to him had pushed all his buttons. “So even my words are not enough to make you obey? You’ve become so unruly now!”
Charlotte hurriedly said, “Don’t make Dad angry, Giselle. Everything will be okay once you apologize–Mom and I won’t hold a grudge against you.”
This was how Charlotte had always been. She would step forward and pretend to be the nice guy when things were
at their worst.
It disgusted Giselle. She looked at Charlotte with revulsion. “Why would it matter to me whether you hold a grudge against me? Your parents can blow their tops for all I care.”
Her arrogant tone infuriated the Grants, making them want to get violent with her.
“You really are an ingrate!” Linda snapped.
Giselle smiled mockingly. “The day you brought Charlotte back, I made a list of all the money you spent raising me and repaid you for that. Don’t you think it’s too much to call me an ingrate when you’ve already taken my money?”
She’d spent almost all her savings on repaying the Grant family. During that time, Jonathan had given her a black card and told her to quit. He wanted her to stay at home all day. She’d accepted the card but had never used it. To this day, it was gathering dust in a corner. (1

amount of money make up for the time and effort we spent on you? Remember that you’ll always owe us for this, Giselle!” Harold snapped, glaring at her.

She snorted, her eyes cold as she said, “Stop trying to gaslight me, old man. I’m not buying it.”
She’d been too kind in the past, resulting in people constantly bullying her. She wasn’t the one who’d put Charlotte through everything she’d suffered, so what right did the Grants have to make her live with that burden for the rest of her life?
Since they didn’t want to leave her in peace, she would do the same to them. They could suffer together!
The situation reached a stalemate. Linda and Harold were furious–Charlotte appeased them, pretending to be the good guy. In comparison, Giselle was a monster.
Linda’s stomach turned from the stench of the rotten eggs. She dry–heaved before turning to Giselle again, her expression twisted. “Don’t you want to know who your biological parents are?”
