Chapter 58
Terry
“What did you just call me?” I serihed, facing him.
“Well, you looked like a lost puppy, drenched to be precise” He went on.
“You know the kind of look you have, don’t force it just maintain your image as the baby–faced looking food god.” He continued with a neutral
“The f*ck! Is he kidding me! I am handsonse and manly. What did he mean by baby faced?” I thought

I would have given him a punch, but we were in the front of many people. It would not make sense, plus it will only
get on my nerves like he did back at the restaurant.
Believe me, I gave the girl a hard glare. Quinn was spooting nonsense, he just wanted to ge
“Or, like I said before, squint your eyes and harden your jaws tighter. He said.
“Thank you, I don’t need it” I replied calmly, despite myself. What I had in mind was to tear him apart, but I had to calm down.
“I see. Just in case of next time, so they don’t get the wrong impression. He added.
What’s your concern if they get the wrong impression, eh?” I exclaimed…
“Well, for a start, it wasn’t my concern. The only reason why I spoke, was because they associated us together. I have no business with you.” He
I only glared at him and kept quiet, watching the two kids. They were clearly having a good time together.
“Alright, fathers, it’s game time!” A man’s voice boomed, he was the coordinator in charge of the games.
The kids stood and started cheering in anticipation
“We will stan with rug of war. Interested and able participants should corne down, emphasis on the able. We do not want anyone collapsing now, do
He asked, and the crowd burst out laughing.
Young fathers of about twenty–five to thirty years started coming down.
Sh*t I cursed. I didn’t think that it would be such a game that required one to come
our What happened to board games!
Junior and Moon faced back simultaneously, looking at us. The look in their eyes, they wanted us to join the game. I stood up, ignoring Quinn and going down to join the game
“Yes” Moon squealed excitedly.
Quinn sat for a moment, as if contemplating, before coming down. We were about thirty men who came out for the game, the rest that didn’t come out were middle–aged and elderly men.
“We have thirty men, I’ll divide you into a group of two. The coordinator said,
We were asked to pick a group, the hefty ones packed themselves to one group. The coordinator called me and Quinn aside to ask us to join a group of our choice, he knew who we were. Such is life, the power of money and fame.
I refused, and I knew Quinn would refuse too.
“Now, let each of the groups align” He shouted
The other fifteen aligned. Well, the men in our group seemed skeptical to align. The men in our group w
men in our group were had slender frames.
“I don’t think we stand a chance to win. Why don’t we complain and let some brity ones come here?” Amman suggested.
“See the look at their fares, they’re not ready to exchange. A man a with a small frame said.
“Let’s pick a leader. The two sladd stay at
at the front. A man said, pointing at both of us
“They are more built than we are, it would only make sense? He went on. The others agreed with him. We aligned, and I refused to take the lead, making Quinn take it instead. A strong rope was brought, a line was drawn in between us.

who manages to pull the other across the line, emerges as the winner.” The coordinator shouted.
“One_two_three!
The pulling began, the other group began pulling. We pulled on the rope with all our might, when all of a sudden Quinn said.
“Tell the rest to stand on defense and let the other group pull.”
I passed the information to the others without questioning his decision, and I heard some whisperings.
“What did he mean by stand on defense? We’re going to lose! We are already short of man power, we need to pull to keep up!” The man with the small frame from earlier said in a hushed tone.
“Just do as he says.” I said in a cold voice, which made him grunt and keep quiet.
I could see Moon cheering for us. Junior on the other hand just stroked his jaw, grinning annoyingly.
The other group pulled, but we weren’t moving. We just maintained a steady balanced and held the rope firmly, I had to accept that Quinn was smart in this one.
He knew we didn’t have enough man p
power, so this was to help the men maintain their energy before the final pull. The other men kept on pulling and pulling, but we only moved a little.
I felt the pull on the other side weaken, that was the signal. We started pulling, and this time around, we were gaining on them. They were already weakened from trying to pull us when we maintained a steady stance
It remained only a little for them to cross the line. “Pull” Quinn shouted.
By now, the crowd had gone silent. I could see some kids close their eyes.
With a final pull, we had the other team crossing the line. The kids started cheering, we had won.
“And for the first round, group A won!” The coordinator exclaimed.
I looked at Moon, he was literally “over the moon.” He was clapping and jumping excitedly. Junior, on the other hand, was looking at us with a “I’m proud of you look.
Some men laid on the ground exhausted, while the rest jumped to meet their children. Some men from the other group looked at us in disbelief, they sure hadn’t expected that.
