Chapter 11
Wesley was arrested, and Camilla was so terrified her legs gave out. She had to be helped out of the marriage registry office by a kind stranger.
Wesley repeatedly requested to meet with me, but I refused every time. Only after the police formally pressed charges did I apply for a meeting.
When we met again, Wesley was no longer the confident man he once was. He looked haggard, his face full of bitterness, and his eyes glared at me with malice.
“Nora, are you proud of yourself now? How could you be so vile? I only had an affair, and you went this far to ruin me? Camilla and I are already divorced, and I planned to make it up to you. Why did you have to send me to prison?”
I stared at him coldly.
“You shouldn’t have threatened me.”
Wesley froze, likely recalling the day he used the apartment to threaten me. His expression shifted, and he quickly began pleading.
“Nora, I was wrong! Please give me another chance. I don’t want the apartment anymore–it’s all yours, even the part of the down payment I made. Just sign a settlement agreement and get me out of here. Fifty thousand dollars is nothing to you anyway.”
I chuckled lightly.
“Alright. Sign the property transfer agreement now, and I’ll sign the settlement in front of
you.”
Wesley’s eyes lit up with disbelief.
“You’re agreeing so quickly?”
I nodded.
“Why not? Do you think I have the time or patience to come here and talk to you every day
in a place like this?”

Still wary, Wesley scrutinized the documents I handed over, checking, every word coflauty to ensure it was indeed a settlement agreement. Once satisfied, he signed the propery transfer and notarization documents I had prepared, along with the sea
After stamping his fingerprint, he looked at me expectantly,
“Nora, take the settlement to the police as soon as you leave. Get me out of here quickly–this place is unbearable,”
Acasually packed the documents into my bag and looked up at him indifferently,
“I’ll pass it along to the police, but as for getting you released, that’s not up to me.”
Wesley’s face darkened. He slammed the table with his handcuffed hands.
“What do you mean? Didn’t you already sign the settlement?”
I gave him an innocent nod,
“Yes.”
Then I feigned surprise, looking at him with wide eyes.
“Don’t you know? Your case has already escalated to criminal prosecution. No matter how many settlements I sign, it won’t make a difference.”
I leaned in closer, my voice dropping to a whisper.
“Oh, and one more thing–you stole over 500,000 dollars worth of jewelry. That qualifies for
a life sentence.”
I patted his shoulder with mock sympathy.
“I hope you have a peaceful life in prison.”
Without waiting for his response, I turned to leave. Wesley’s furious and panicked gaze
followed me, but I ignored it.
Just as I reached the door, I paused and turned back to face him, a faint smile on my lips.

“Oh, One last thing—I forgot to tell you. The baby Camilla is carrying? It’s not yours. If belongs to a real estate boss. And besides you, she’s been with several other men.”
The moment I finished speaking, Wesley shot to his feet, his handcuffed hands grabbing a chair and hurling it toward me.
“You bitch! I’ll kill you!”
Before the chair could hit me, the guards restrained him.
This time, even a settlement agreement wouldn’t save him.
