Chapter 7
Sitting in the taxi, I opened the surveillance feed from the cameras I had installed in
Camilla’s apartment.
The footage showed Wesley sneaking into her place, looking around nervously. The moment he stepped inside, Camilla threw her arms around him, startling him.
“What are you doing? Nora’s on her way here. I need to go wait for her at the entrance. She’s already upset about how close you and I are, and if she finds out about this now, all our efforts will go to waste,” Wesley said, pulling away.
But Camilla seemed unfazed.
“What are you so nervous about? She’s too dumb to notice anything. If she were smarter, she wouldn’t have waited until I was eight months pregnant to figure things out,” Camilla said with a sneer, her hand sliding suggestively toward Wesley.
Wesley quickly grabbed her hand.
“You’re in your third trimester now; it’s too risky. We need to be careful.”
Camilla, however, didn’t care.
“Weren’t you the one who said I’m even more alluring when I’m pregnant? Besides, Nora’s not here yet. What’s the harm in having a little fun? Isn’t it more exciting this way?” she teased with a sultry smile, clearly getting to him.
Wesley hesitated for a moment before giving in.
I smirked coldly and sent Wesley a text:
“Traffic’s bad. I might need another 30 minutes.”
In the video, Wesley visibly relaxed upon reading the message. He put his arm around Camilla’s waist, and the two slithered into the bedroom like snakes.
I closed the video feed, a mocking smile tugging at my lips. Giving them 30 minutes is already generous.

Sure enough, less than 15 minutes later, Camilla emerged from the bedroom, tong dissatisfied and multering under her breath.
When I arrived at the complex, Wesley was already waiting for me at the entrance, Seeing me, he eagerly took my bag.
“Are you tired?” he asked, his tone filled with coNERTI
I didn’t even glance at him. The stench clinging to him made my stomach churn.
Quickening my pace, I walked ahead without a word, Wesley followed behind like a lapdog smiling obsequiously,
“See how good I’ve been today? You don’t like me being too close to Camilla, so I waited here at the entrance just for you.”
The memory of the surveillance video, of him and Camilla tangled up in each other like snakes, made my stomach turn. Before I even reached the door, I couldn’t hold it back and
threw up.
As soon as we entered Camilla’s apartment, Wesley rushed to the kitchen to get me a glass of water, moving around like it was his own home,
I didn’t call him out on it. Instead, I took the glass, drank it, and then turned to Camilla with a polite smile.
“Sorry about that. My stomach’s been feeling off lately,”
Camilla shot me a wary glance, her eyes drifting to my abdomen.
“You’re not pregnant, are you?”
I didn’t answer, tilting my head slightly toward Wesley instead.
“Now that you mention it, my period has been late for over ten days,” I said casually,
The moment those words left my mouth, both Wesley and Camilla visibly panicked. Camilla’s expression darkened with barely contained fury,
“That’s impossible!” she snapped, pointing at me with trembling fingers.

I touched my stomach lightly.
“Wesley and I are married. We’ve had the wedding, and it’s just the certificate that’s missing. Isn’t it normal for me to be pregnant? But your reaction… why does it seem like you’re more upset than I am?”
I turned my gaze to Camilla, my eyes sharp and probing. Wesley’s forehead broke out in a
nervous sweat.
Nora, you’re overthinking it. Camilla didn’t mean it that way–she’s just happy for you!” he said quickly, sitting beside me and wrapping an arm around my shoulders.
“Let’s go for a check–up tomorrow to confirm it. If you’re really pregnant, that would be wonderful!” Wesley added with a forced smile.
Camilla looked like she was on the verge of exploding.
“Wesley…” she ground out through clenched teeth, her tone dripping with malice. She looked ready to spill everything if he dared to act happy.
I chuckled softly at the sight of them.
“Look at how scared you both are. I’m not pregnant. My body’s just been a bit off lately, and my cycle’s irregular, that’s all.”
At my words, they both let out simultaneous sighs of relief.
