Chapter 27
ISABEL’S POINT OF VIEW
“So what do you intend to do, now that you know Lady Lucia would do everything in her power to try and ruin things for you?” Gina inquired as we scanned through different colors of fabrics.
Coronation and mating season were fast approaching. After the mating season, I’d be crowned as the official Luna of the pack. The whole palace was already preparing for the season.
“I’m not going to do anything, I just have to be very careful. All I can do at this point is protect myself from whatever madness she has in mind because that woman does not look like someone who would give up without a fight. Yuna coming back to apologize to me happens to be the most suspicious thing I remarked, and Gina gave a nod in agreement.
“So, white or purple?” she asked as she raised the fabrics.
“White is good,” I replied, and she put the fabric in a box.
“This is going to look good on you, trust me,” she assured, and I smiled as I watched her leave my room.
My mind went back to everything, and I sighed softly. The princes have been very protective lately, they’re not about to let me out of their sight because they believe I might get into trouble.
Sighing softly, I lay down to get some sleep because it was already late. The moment I closed my eyes, I wasn’t even asleep yet when I saw blood. I snapped my eyes open immediately, trying to figure out if what I saw was real or just fiction. Astared at my hands and gasped when I noticed drops of blood on my hand and the bed around me. I screamed in horror.
“Luna! Is everything okay? Luna!” Gina cried out in panic as she held my arms, trying to help me relax, but I was too

Hayden and Hector rushed into my room, and Hector held my hands, trying to soothe me as I cried bitterly. “You need to breathe, try to breathe, my love…” he coaxed, and my heart warmed with relief.
“We’re here with you. Nothing is going to happen to you, Isabel, not on our watch,” Hector assured, staring directly into my eyes.
They called the pack doctor, who arrived for a check–up. “It turns out she was not injured in any way. If she had access to her wolf, she would have healed on her own. But I’ve checked, and there are no marks of injury,” the pack doctor explained with a confused expression on her face.
“I would ask that you stay close to her and try to help her rest. Everything will be alright,” she encouraged as she left my
room.
“You heard the pack doctor, Isabel, maybe you’re stressing yourself too much,” Hector uttered, and I stared at my feet.
“Hector is right, babe. I know all of this is overwhelming for you but you have nothing to worry about when you have both of us,” Hayden spoke calmly as he kissed my forehead. Hector kissed the back of my hand, and they gave Gina a knowing look before making their way out of my room.
“I would swoon at how much they care for you,” she teased.
“It’s not about the care, Gina. I feel like the curse is already getting stronger by the day. I tried to get some sleep, and all I could see was blood, so much blood that I couldn’t even sleep. And then when I opened my eyes, I saw drops of blood on my hands,” I muttered in fear, and her eyes softened in my direction.
“Come with me, Gina. I need to see Savannah,” I declared, and she shook her head.
“The princes have instructed me to take care of you, I don’t think they’d like it if you visited the East Wing so late at night.

Chapter 27
It’s dangerous, Luna, she warned, and I took a deep breath.
“Who do you answer to, Gina?” I prompted, and she stared at me speechless.
“You,” she replied, and I smiled.
“Good, let’s go,” I instructed, and she walked over to my closet to grab a shawl and gloves, helping me into them.
We left my room late at night and headed toward the East Wing
“Please be careful, Luna. If anything happens to you, I’ll pay for it, Gina whispered, and I gave a nod 1 is up the light as we approached the door, which opened of its own accord.
“I sensed it, I knew you’d come to see me,” Savannah revealed as her eyes met mine.
“What do you mean?” I questioned, and she smiled.
“I’m connected to your soul ever since I saw right through you. It’s hard to explain, but I felt it, she noted as the handed me a glass of water.
“Savannah, I think I’m going to die… I… I… I’m so scared,” I cried out, overwhelmed by fear,
“You won’t die. It’s not just the curse, Isabel. You saw something in your dream, and when you opened your eyes, it happened. That’s a gift,” she explained, and I glanced at Gina, then back to Savannah.
“A gift? I’m the girl without a wolf. How can you be so certain that I could even possess any gifts? After everything I’ve gone through in the hands of my own family and the pack members. I trailed off.
“You’d want anything but a seeing gift,” Savannah observed, and my eyes flashed with guilt. It felt like I was throwing jabs at
her.
“That’s not how I meant it. Maybe it’s a curse. Why else would I get a message like that?” I wondered, fearful
“You need to get a grip on yourself. This is just the beginning. Once you succeed in mating with the princes, another version of you will emerge. I can sense it,” she stated, and a smirk appeared on my face.
AUTHOR’S POINT OF VIEW
“I’ve had enough of these stupid plots that don’t even fetch us the results we seek! What exactly do you guys have in mind?” Amelia burst out angrily.
“Making a lot of noise like that hasn’t brought us any results, Amelia, so please shut up if you have nothing else to say,” Evelyn snapped back.
“How dare you speak to me in that manner? I have done everything in my power to turn things in our favour. What do you have to offer this family?” Amelia demanded, and Evelyn slapped her across the face, making an uncomfortable silence fill the room.
“Hitting each other won’t solve the problem at hand. It’s not going to change the fact that the mating season is fast approaching, and she might get to break the curse. If that happens, we all know the outcome,” Eric, Evelyn’s father uttered calmly.
“I’d rather slit my throat than watch Isabel rise to power in this pack!” Evelyn burst out.
“Mother, we need to do something. You picked that girl and gave her the life she has today. You have every right to snatch it back. She doesn’t deserve to live happily ever after with the princes. Even the thought of it makes me want to lose my mind, Mom, Amelia exclaimed dramatically.
“Losing your mind won’t help the situation. I think we should grab the bull by the horns,” Evelyn declared.
Chapter 27
“What bull are we grabbing?“, Amelia asked, looking clueless, and Evelyn facepalmed herself.
“Are you serious right now?” she questioned, and Lisa smirked.
“Stop arguing over things like that. You were saying something, Evelyn…” Lisa encouraged.
“I think we should kill her, Evelyn replied, and everyone stared at her in shock.
“Kill her? Isn’t that too harsh?” Amelia asked in surprise.
“Sometimes, the long awaited opportunity only presents itself once. We can’t let the fear of consequences make us lose out on what we have to gain from all this, Evelyn explained, and Amelia gasped.
“I hate Isabel, but is the killing part necessary? I mean, the curse could kill her, and I wouldn’t have a problem with that… Amelia trailed off.
“And that doesn’t make you a good person anyway. It just shows you want the girl dead, Evelyn noted, her eyes flashing with
hurt.
“Do whatever you want,” Amelia snapped.
“That’s enough, girls. Amelia, you know your sister is right. I want the both of you to work together and end her,” Eric commanded.
“What’s the plan?” Lisa inquired calmly.
It’s going to take place on the night of her birthday. It’s better if we kill her a few minutes before the time she’s waited for all her life,” Evelyn said, and they laughed hard.
[AT THE PALACE]
“Are you out of your mind?” Lady Lucia snapped as she locked the door and turned to him angrily.
“I sent you a note and was hoping you’d show up at our hideout as promised, Lucia. What’s with these games?” Viktor questioned as he kissed her shoulders sweetly.
“Keep your mouth to yourself, Viktor. You know I have bigger problems at hand. I have no intention of sleeping with you when Isabel has my nephews wrapped around her finger, that cursed girl,” she retorted.
“You call her a cursed girl, but what amuses me is that your nephews are cursed too. And in the long run, they need her help to break the curse,” he remarked.
“I didn’t ask you to rub it in my face, Viktor,” she responded angrily, looking away.
“I’m not trying to rub it in, my love. I just want my woman back, he insisted, and she pushed his face away.
“I have a responsibility towards my sister’s children, you know how much I care about them,” she argued, and Viktor laughed.
“You can fool everyone but not me, Lucia. We both know you never loved your sister. If anything, you were only envious of how unique and different she was.”
“You did everything in your power to take her place, and now you stand before me, claiming your undying love for her. It sounds horrible, he declared, and she slapped him.
“Viktor, you have no right to say that, especially when you’ve done nothing but humiliate and cheat on your wife, who’s done nothing but love you,” she spat angrily.
“Well, my sons are hidden within the four walls of the pack. No one knows about them, and you know better than to try and

cause me humiliation,” he responded, and her eyes stung with tears.
“You have a lot to lose if you try to pull a fast one on me,” Viktor warned, his words making her body shake with anger.
“From the affair with your sister’s husband to the role you played in her death…” he trailed off.
“I played no role in her death. How dare you!” she screamed, attempting to attack him, but Viktor held her in place.

“We can always protect each other, my love. No one has to know if you just play along, as you’ve always done,” he assured her, and she burst into tears.
“Viktor…” she whispered weakly.

“You know you want this, Lucia…” he murmured, playing on her weakness. She moaned at his kiss as her hands moved to his waist, pulling him closer. They kissed hungrily, the dim lights in her room made everything more dark as they made their way to the bed.
Lucia knew at that point that she was w
