Chapter 23

“Didn’t I tell her to get ready to go out with Mr. Lewis? Alex looked at Vincent’s expression.

Vincent usually hated it the most when people were not punctual. How could Tiffany run off somewhere at such an important time?

Vincent checked the time. “Call her and ask where she in”

“Okay.” Alex quickly pulled his phone out. Her phone rang, but the ringing came from Tiffany’s desk.

Vincent said, “We won’t wait for her then”

He glanced around the assistants‘ work stations. Normally, he would take Kelly with him. But she had resigned. As Ivy stood there, she had an expectant look on her face.

Based on seniority and experience, Ivy would be most suitable to take along armong all of his female assistants, aside from Kelly.

After being silent for a moment, Vincent said, “Let’s go.”

He did not mention Ivy at all.

The two walked to the elevator. But Ivy chased behind them. “Mr. Lewis, since Tiffany is not here, with you?!

Greed and ambition were written all over Ivy’s face.

Vincent did not even spare her a glance. He told Alex, “Ask her to contact Tiffany. Once she gets a hold of Tiffany, tell Tiffany to rush to the signing venue as soon as possible.”

“Yes, Mr. Lewis” Alex turned and told Ivy, “Ivy, please contact Tiffany and have her head over to the venue quickly.”

Then, the two of them walked into the elevator one after another and went downstairs.

Staring at the digit on the elevator wall, Ivy stomped in anger.

Tiffany was locked inside for nearly a whole day. She only got rescued when someone came to grab something from the archive room toward the end of the day.

As she hurried back to the office, she bumped into Alex as she got out of the elevator.

The moment Alex saw her, he asked, “Tiffany, where have you been the whole day? If you hadn’t come back, we would have called the cops.

“Sorry, Mr. Zander, I-

“You don’t have to explain anything to me. You should just explain to Mr, Lewis yourself.” Alex shook his head. He truly felt sorry that she had missed out on such a great opportunity today.

Biting her lips, Tiffany walked to the CEO’s office in defeat. She raised her hand and knocked on the door. “Come in ” A man’s voice sounded from inside.

Tiffany pushed the door open and went in. Vincent was sitting in the large office chair with his back facing the door. She could only see half his head.

“Mr. Lewis.” Standing there, Tiffany felt fidgety and nervous. “I’m sorry, something unexpected happened today. It didn’t affect your signing with Mr. Wilson, did it?”

She had lost a great opportunity. Although it was a shame, there was nothing she could do about it anymore. She could only feel a little better if the company hadn’t suffered any losses because of her

absence.

Vincent said nothing.

At that moment, Tiffany felt extremely guilty. As she recalled how Alex’s attitude was just now, her guilt intensified when she saw that she had infuriated Vincent to the point of speechlessness.

She closed her eyes and said decisively. “If my absence has caused the company any losses, I’m willing to receive any punishment, even if it means getting fired.”
