Chapter 46
My nose tingled and I immediately covered it, looking up at the person who had just arrived.
Before me stood a man with wine–red hair that shimmered a bold shade of dark red in the
light. His handsome face exuded arrogance and recklessness.
Apurple ear stud glimmered on his left ear, catching my eye at first glance.
I quickly apologized, bowing my head. “I’m terribly sorry, I entered the wrong private
room!”
I finished my sentence and turned to leave.
The man grabbed my arm and snickered, “Who said you could leave?”
My expression changed slightly. Was I now dealing with an unreasonable person?
I tried to remain calm. “What would you like me to do?” I looked up at the man in front of
- me.
He gazed directly at my face, then suddenly reached out and pinched my chin, “Lift your
head!”
I froze. I was already starting to get annoyed. “Please let me go!”
He took a closer look at me and then chuckled with a mischievous grin, “Since you’re here,
let’s play together!”
Saying this, he tried to pull me into the private room.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Ava opened a luxurious and inconspicuous door and saw two
men sitting in the private room at a glance.
Her expression changed slightly. She quickly nodded in apology, “I’m sorry, I entered the
wrong room!”
The girl at the door looked like a timid little rabbit, her cold demeanor clearly out of place in such a setting.

Elias raised an eyebrow and got up, “Let me see what kind of look made you enter the
wrong room!”
Ava became flustered, wanting to close the door and leave.
But Elias quickly caught up to her and grabbed her arm.
In her panic, Ava suddenly saw that I was being dragged into one of the private rooms not
far away.
Ava’s expression became extremely unpleasant. I was here to help her find someone. If something happened to me, Ava would never be able to face me again.
She struggled and was about to rush over.
From his angle, Elias saw James pulling a woman into a private room.
However, unexpectedly, he heard the familiar name from the lips of this unfamiliar pretty girl. He firmly held onto Ava’s arm, his eyes glinting. “Did you just call out Sophia?”
Ava didn’t expect this man to know me. In her desperation, she quickly answered, “Yes, it’s Sophia. Do you know her? She was pulled into that room!”
Elias looked up and glanced over there, his eyes flickering. He spoke, “Wait here for a
moment. I’ll go in!”
Ava stood there in bewilderment, growing increasingly anxious, but she obediently nodded.
Elias raised a questioning eyebrow. His curiosity piqued as he entered the private room. Inside, Lukas sat, nursing a drink. A grin curved Elias’s lips as he announced, “Lukas, care to guess who just crossed my path?”
Lukas, his demeanor nonchalant, barely lifted his eyelids in response. “Does it have
anything to do with me?”
Elias chuckled, claiming his seat, and looked at him. “Absolutely! We were just discussing that particular person. Well, guess who’s here?”
Lukas frowned, “Are you in need of psychiatric assistance?”

Elias clicked his tongue, “How boring! We were in the middle of the Sophia talk, remember? And who should I spot but our dear James King spiritedly escorting her into a private room! She’s a designer at your company, isn’t she? Should we perhaps ensure her well being
Lukas immediately understood the meaning of Elias’s words just now speak of the devil, and the devil appears!
A shadow flickered in his gaze. How could this woman be so troublesome?
Le rose promptly and made his way toward the door without hesitation.
Elias’s mischievous smirk lingered, “Just as I suspected. Your actions speak louder than
your words!”
Meanwhile, within the neighboring private room, I was just pulled in when the man who brought me in laughingly introduced me to the crowd, “Let me introduce you all to Sophia Lopez, the designer from Strakovski who’s enjoying a lot of limelight at the moment.
The men and women drinking in the private room all came to a halt, their gazes diverse as
they turned to see what was happening.
Some were curious, some disdainful, while others were filled with envy and jealousy.
To make matters worse, someone had already started pouring out the drinks.
My surprise at being recognized by this man was evident.
I was certain we had never crossed paths before, at least not in person.
Few could accurately identify someone from a video and then pinpoint them in the flesh.
I delicately perceived that staying here for too long would certainly not lead to anything
good.
I took a steadying breath, “Sir, since you recognize me, let’s not dwell on pleasantries. If I have unintentionally wronged you, I extend my apologies. However, pressing matters demand my attention elsewhere, and I must take my leave.”
Yet, the man’s grip on my arm tightened, he snorted “In a rush, are we? But you haven’t even heard my name yet. I’m James King. A name worth remembering, wouldn’t you

My eyes darkened, “Mr. King, you’re putting me in a difficult situation”
I had no idea how I had offended the man in front of me, but his intentions were dearly not
good.
“Putting you in a difficult situation? How could you hurt my heart like that? I genuinely want to be friends with you. After finishing these eight drinks, we’ll be sworn siblings! If you don’t drink, you’re rejecting my face!” James said, followed by an almost maniacal laugh.
I responded calmly, “I hold no intention of disrespecting you, Mr. King, But please understand, I really don’t know how to drink.”
