Chapter 19
AUTHOR’S POINT OF VIEW
“You ruined the plan for us, Evelyn. None of that would have happened if you went with what we had in mind. You let your hatred for Isabel show itself without letting everything go as it ought to! Amelia burst out angrily.
“Don’t you dare stand there and act like the master planner? Nope of this would have happened if you did not go behind my back and act like the nice girl that you are not!”
“How did that end?” Evelyn retorted, and both sisters glared daggers at each other. Both of them were driven by a motive, to get the Alpha princes for themselves and rule as the Luna of the park.
“That’s enough! Arguing like this will not help you in any way. After all, Isabel is still in the arms of Alpha. She has them tied around her pinky finger, and here you are, lighting yourselves like lunatics! I did not raise girls who cannot defend themselves!” Their mom scolded, her voice rising with anger. The room was filled with tension.
“Your mother is right. If one of you becomes the Luna, it opens our family to a lot of benefits. We will become wealthy with a snap of our fingers!” Eric, their father added as got up from his armchair.
“Do you have the slightest idea of the amount of wealth that lies within the four walls of this pack? Stop acting like children fighting for their favourite toys and get to work. Form alliances with the elders, and try to be ten steps ahead of Isabel!” he
barked.
“I hate her so much! The fact that she acts so innocent yet manages to win at everything infuriates me. It makes me want to Jose my mind!” Evelyn cried out.
“The mistake we made was picking that orphan from the streets, raising her as our own. The fortune teller assured us that she would bring us wealth. How do you explain her inability to turn into a werewolf?” Eric shouted.
“I don’t understand! What do you mean, Father? You told us she was adopted, but not that your goal was driven by money.” Evelyn inquired, curiously.
“I believe we were tricked. Isabel was never our child. Your mother and I found the baby in the woods one fateful evening. We went for a run, and something about the diamond pendant on her neck attracted us…” he drifted off.
“We sold off the pendant to a man in the streets who identified himself as a fortune teller, their mother explained bitterly.
“He was ready to pay any amount for the pendant. Something about that act made your father and me curious, so we asked him to check her fortune,” she clarified.
“He said she had a good fortune and went ahead to spit some rubbish about wealth, chaos, peace and some other things. He should have told us the child was a walking disaster instead of beating around the bush! Their mother continued, gritting her teeth in anger,
“That Isabel surely knows how to draw attention toward herself, the sly witch, Amelia spat in hatred, as she raised one side of her lips.
“You mentioned something about chaos Evelyn paused with a smirk, an evil spark appearing in her eyes.
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” she asked, her parents watching her with curiosity.
“I will need all your help if this is to become a reality,” she whispered, smiling.
“You are indeed your father’s daughter,” Mr. Eric remarked with an evil laugh.
“That Isabel won’t know what hit her when those Alpha princes dump her after this,” Amelia chuckled wickedly.
Chapter 19
ISABEL’S POINT OF VIEW
“I heard the rumours of what happened last night and couldn’t help but rush over to check up on you. What happened?” Gina questioned, her voice laced with concern.
1 began, “It’s not a rumour. I was such a fool to have trusted Amelia. How is it possible that my whole family bears such resentment toward me?”
“What did I ever do to deserve such hatred from them?” I asked, by voice breaking at the edges. I couldn’t help myself and burst out crying all over again.
“Oh dear,” Gina murmured, rubbing my back in a soothing way.
“They set the party to humiliate me. The entire pack was in attendance. I was so embarrassed, if Hayden and Hector weren’t there to stand up for me, L…I don’t know what they would have done,” I sobbed.
She uttered irritatedly. “Those sisters of yours have rotten hearts. They don’t deserve to be called anyone’s sisters.”
“It’s not your fault that you tried to see any goodness in them. It’s their fault that they sold their consciences,” Gina sneered. as she hugged me tightly.
“I think it’s high time you put up a tougher front and avoid them, okay? she advised, and I nodded as tears rolled down my cheeks.
The door to my room opened, and Lady Lucia stepped in, an unusual calmness in her eyes as she took in every detail before turning her gaze to me.
“Lady Lucia Gina greeted, bowing in respect
“Good morning, Lady Lucia,” I greeted, but she ignored both of us.
“Excuse us, Gina, she ordered, and Gina’s eyes met mine, waiting for my permission to leave. Somehow, I wanted her to stay with me. I was done letting people walk all over me.
“I said leave us alone, Gina, she repeated, her voice dripping with disgust.
“Gina is my handmaid. She only follows my orders, Lady Lucia, I countered, my voice steady.
Lady Lucia seemed taken aback by my words, her eyes widening with shock, anger, and another emotion I couldn’t quite place. But one thing was certain, she was furious.
“Oh, I see. You’ve read the Royal handbook. How you get to control the pack to some extent. That does not happen until you are mated to the Alpha princes, and trust me, the mating will not happen, she sneered with hatred, making me wonder what I had done to deserve such mistreatment.
“I’ve done nothing wrong. You don’t even know me well enough to hate me this much, Lady Lucia!” I retorted, and Gina stared at me in surprise.
“Oh, trust me. I know the likes of you middle–class people. You’re cursed, abandoned by your family, and you think you have a place in the high place of the Pack?” she mocked coldly.
I am not in competition with anyone. There is no competition in the first place because I am the one who will is cursed. You need me, and it’s high time you start treating me with that respect, I declared, and she looked taken aback by my words.
“You’d better watch your back, Isabel,” she warned, as storming out of the room, slamming the door.
1 felt surprised by my actions, wondering where I got the nerve to stand up to Lady Lucia like that.
“Now, that wasn’t hard, was it?” Gina teased, smiling.

Chapter 19
“If I’m right, those wonh just brought me a bigger enemy. Lady Lucia would only try to ruin me, just like my sisters have been trying to.” I muttered in fear.
She said, “It does not change the fact that whether or not you stood up to her, she would have done the same thing.”
“People like Lucia only want to see themselves in power, they enjoy seeing the less privileged suffer. They love it when they get to walk all over you and you say nothing.
“Tut her in her place whenever she tries to mess with you again, that’s what makes you Luna, Gina advised as she she bowed
“Gina, I trust you, and I want you to know something…. I trailed off, changing the topic instantly. If there’s one person that I could trust or I want to tell my nightmare, it should be Gina.
“There’s something, that had been bothering me for some time now, a reoccurring nightmare.I murmured, and she stared at me, waiting for me to spill it.
“How bad is it?” she asked as I gestured for her to sit on the bed with me.
“Very bad, sometimes I wake up almost breathless, it leaves me weak, scared and troubled,” I revealed and she stared at me curiously.
“That’s not a good one, we must find a solution to that before it gets worse,” she said, as she stood up.
“But how am I supposed to do that? Visit the pack doctor?” I asked and her eyes widened.
No. I believe if we can get our hands on a particular book, I belong we will get what we want,” she uttered, and I stared at her curiously.
“Gina, I don’t understand. What books are you talking about?” I asked impatiently, as I stared at her.
“I’m sure you have heard of the witches and the myth about Celeste’s curse. We don’t know how true it is, but the witches have been extinct since the last ruler. Hayden and Hector’s father.
“They were so good at unfolding mysterious dreams like this, if anything I’m sure, you can get the answers you are looking for in one of their journals if not from Celeste’s herself, Gina revealed, and I was lost in thought
“This is scary, this whole witches and the fight for power stuff it makes me want to hang my head on the wall, Gina,” I voiced out my worries, and she sighed softly.
“You were chosen by the moon goddess herself to be mated to the princes, in a time and season like this. It means there’s more to just being Luna. It’s not about wearing the crown alone she said, and that made a whole lot of sense.
“You are even mated to the Alpha twins brothers, which has never happened in the history of werewolves, don’t you think there are a lot of unanswered questions,” she muttered, and I took a deep breath
“If there’s a place where we can find the journal, it has to be in the ancient library,” I stated.
“The question is how do we get into the library? You told me Lady Lucia and the Alpha princes are the only ones who have access to the library, how are we supposed to get in if we don’t have access?” I asked in confusion.
“Well that’s why you’re mated to the princes,” she said smirking
