Chapter 13
ISABELS POV
You made friends with Amelia?” Yuna questioned in shock as she stared at me like I had completely lost my mind. Grandma Shu also raised her eyebrows.
“It’s not like I made friends, she’s my sister. She asked for forgiveness, and I forgave her, I explained in a calm tone.
“I don’t feel too good. This whole Amelia thing feels like a trap to me. That girl has been so mean to you from the onset, and now she shows up out of the blue asking for forgiveness? That’s suspicious if you ask me,” she remarked, frowning
“They are sisters, Yuna. If she feels like something good can come out of this newfound relationship with Amelia, then we shouldn’t give her the benefit of the doubt, Grandma responded and patted Yuna’s hand lightly.
“I hope it ends well. Yuna muttered and made her way towards my room.
“Yuna! Yuna!” I called and sighed softly when I didn’t get the reply I was expecting
“She’s pissed off right now. Give her some time to clear her head. She will come around,” Grandma Shu advised before making her way to the kitchen.
1 bit my lower lip and rubbed my forehead to relieve myself from the stress that ran through my body.
Amelia stood up for me. She’s the only one in my family who thought it was right to reach out to me and apologize for their wrongdoings.
Yuna is only looking out for me. I’m sure she’ll come around soon. Yuna came out of my room clad in a casual outfit, and I raised my eyebrows.
“Where are you going?” I inquired curiously.
“Of to the woods,” she responded, and I felt curious.
“Can I join you?” I asked calmly.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea, Isabel,‘ she replied, her voice laced with concern.
“You think it’s a bad idea that I want to come with you?” I probed and she rubbed her forehead.
“It’s dangerous out there in the woods. I don’t want to risk having you with me. But we can take a stroll in the pack,” she offered, and I agreed with a nod as I got down from the chair and joined her.
We strolled through the pack, and I saw some children playing in the field with pure joy, something I never got to experience because my parents locked me up. I was too weak to be considered their own.
“How do you feel when you change into your wolf form, Yuna?” asked curiously, and she chuckled,
“Is it the cracking of bones or your connection to your wolf? It’s beautiful feeling, Isabel. Something I wish you could feel someday,” she said, and I chuckled softly.
“Thank you. Are you still heading to the woods?” I questioned. I mean, what’s the harm in joining her?
“Yes. I see you’re not going to back out of this, so let’s just go,” she replied, and we walked towards the woods together with a backpack on her shoulder.
We talked about random stuff as we passed the green trees and heard the whispers of birds playing around.

“Wow,” I exclaimed. This fell different, a good kind of different.
“Be careful. Make sure you don’t get hurt, she cautioned and asked me to bend down as we got close to the pack border.
I knew it was the pack border because there was a signpost warning werewolves to the pack
“Yuna, we are at the pack bonder,” I whispered.
“I know,” she answered as she gestured for me to keep quiet.
“You know and…” I began, and she covered my mouth with her hand.

Some soldiers on patrol walked past us. “Wait, I just caught a scent. Werewolf scent,” one of the soldiers remarked, and my eyes widened
Yuna mirrored my expression, and as they made their way toward us, we moved backward a bit, then sprinted into the woods as fast as our legs could carry us.
Yuna held my hand, and my breath came out in gasps. We hid ourselves, and it wasn’t long before we lost the soldiers.
“Are you okay?” she asked curiously as she bent down to check my feet. I was bleeding quite badly from the run, and unlike Yuna, who had the healing ability, I was just like a normal human and would take a long time to heal.
“I’m so sorry. This is why I didn’t want you to come,” she said, with worry written all over her face, and I sighed.
“It’s okay. I’ll be fine,” I replied, and she sighed in relief.
“That’s if you tell me what we’re doing out in the woods because Tm scared right now, I admitted as she applied some herbs to the injury.
“Ouch,” I cried out in the pain
“Are you feeling better?” She asked in care, and I hummed a yes.
“I like to visit the woods once in a while, but a lot of bad things have been happening lately. The Alpha princes have restricted werewolves from leaving the pack borders, especially with the recent killings that have been taking place,” she explained, and my eyes widened.
“We should probably go back to the pack,” I suggested in fear. I knew I had limited time to live, but I had no plans of dying out in the woods where no one could find me.
“I told you not to come, Yuna teased.
“I came because I was curious,” I stated, and she laughed.
“See what your curiosity got you in the end!” she teased, and we both burst out laughing.
We heard an unusual noise in the woods that made us stopped immediately.
“Did you hear that?” Yuna asked before I could say the same.
“Run!” she yelled, and as we turned to head back to the pack, we were surrounded by some hungry lookig men.
“Look what we have here, Scar!” one of the guys said to his friend, and I gasped from the fear that overwhelmed me.
These men are wolves, it was evident. But I needed no one to explain to me that they were rogue wolves. Rogues are wolves who do not belong to any pack. They are astray and love to live without rules. They do whatever they want and wander in the woods since they have nowhere to stay. They walk in groups
Chapter 13
“Please… let us go!” I pleaded from the fear that ran through my veins..
“Well, that’s not possible, beautiful. You and your little friend here have a lot to do for us, one of the guys uttered as he pulled Yuna by the hair and ran his tongue along her neck and creamed.
“Please! Please don’t hurt us!” 1 begged, and somehow, I found myself thinking of Hayden and Hector as I cried.
“Hayden!”
“Hector… Hayden!” my heart cried out in fear.
“Come here, you little worm,” one of the guys growled and hit me across the face. I screamed from the excruciating pain and felt blood run from my nose to my mouth.
“Isabel!” Yuna screamed as she held my hand. The guys laughed a sinister laugh
“Help! Somebody help us!” Yuna cried into the night. It was already getting dark.
“Oh, princesses, it’s getting dark, and you’re out in the woods with us. What do you expect? That some knight in shining armour will show up and rescue you both?” he taunted mockingly
“Don’t touch us, please!” I begged, and one of the guys grabbed me by the butt, making me cry out in panic as they hit Yuna.
HECTOR’S POV
“Hades, something is wrong. I burst into my brother’s room, and he seemed to mirror my expression as he buttoned his
shirt sleeve.
“I can sense it too. I’ve been feeling restless. It feels like someone is calling out to me,” he replied as his eyes met mine.
“Isabel,” we said in unison.
The question is, how does our supposed mate find herself in the woods? It’s beginning to seem like she attracts trouble wherever she goes. Why else would she be in the woods so late at night?
“I’m certain she’s trying to mind–link us, but that’s impossible because she can’t access her wolf fully,” Hayden explained, and that seemed to make sense.
Our wolves were connected to her and picked up the signal of her need for protection. Hayden and I shifted into our wolf forms, forgetting the rift between us, as we ran into the woods, following the lead of her scent.
How the hell did she even get past the soldiers? Have they become so incompetent that they couldn’t even sense her?
“Mate is in trouble,” my wolf growled in my head. My instincts screamed to protect our mate. We needed Isabel to break this curse, and I’m not about to have her ruin that for us because she need to stay alive.
We got there just in time to see her surrounded by a group of rogues.
“Look who we have here, the Alpha princes, one of the guys jeered as he snarled in my direction. Hayden rushed over to them and bit him on his neck, as he fell on the ground dead.
Isabel was bleeding quite badly. We took care of the situation, and her friend cried bitterly, knowing shead risked the life
of our mate.
I’m so sorry, Alpha Hayden, Alpha Hector…” she apologized as her lips quivered in hurt.
“You broke pack rules and will face the consequences,” I snapped angrily as I walked in front. Hayden had our stubborn mate in his arms as we made our way back to the pack.
