Chapter 80
James noticed Leon’s surprised expression when he heard his request.
Leon seemed to be appalled that James would even ask him about such stuff.
“Is… is something wrong?” James asked, hesitating.
“Mr. Hact, why would you ask me for gift advice?” Leon replied, a little amuseil
“Well, Professor Butler, you seem more experienced than I am,” James said quickly.
Leon churided, “I actually don’t have any experience giving glits to women.”
Now it was James‘ tum to be surprised.
But after a moment, it clicked. Since Leon was so good–looking, he probably gets gifts from women instead.
James wared his hand quickly. “No problem. Let’s just look around”
His gaze swept over a nearby shop “Girls usually like Jewelry. Let’s check some out.”
The shop was lit warmly, displaying a variety of delicate–looking accessories.
James looked totally lost. “Which one should I pick?”

The seller leaned forward with a helpful smile. “Getting your girlfriend a gift? Bracelets are always a safe bet. They look great on the wrist. Take a look at this one…
Meanwhile, a certain bracelet had caught Leon’s attention. It was a simple gold bracelet with a few chama.
Kelly rarely wore jewelry. At her age, most young ladies loved to dress up, but not her. She didn’t wear earrings, bracelets, or even necklaces. She was always dressed in plain and simple outfits.
He picked up the bracelet and ran his fingers over it. Kelly probably wouldn’t like anything flashy. This simple bracelet felt just right for her.
The shopkeeper noticed Leon holding the bracelet and quickly chimed in, “That’s real gold. The bracelet represents peace, too. If you like it, sir, you should get it for your girlfriend ”
“How much is it?” Leon asked.
“200 dollars.”
James leaned over, curious. “Professor Butler, are you buying a gift for your girlfriend?”
just moments ago, Leon had said he had no experience buying gifts for women. Yet now here he was, picking one out so quickly.
Leon pulled out his phone and replied casually, “It’s not for a girlfriend.”
James wondered if it was for his crush.
But before he could dig deeper, Leon added calmly, “It’s for my wife.”
James” eyes widened. “You’re married, Professor Butler?”
Leon nodded with a soft smile and quickly paid.” “Please wrap it up nicely,” he instructed the shopkeeper.
The shopkeeper, thrilled by such a decisive customer, replied eagerly, “Of course!”
Now that he knew Leon was married, James couldn’t help his curiosity. For someone as remarkableas Leon, his wife must have been someone impressive. “Professor Butler, what is your wife like?”
James wasn’t sure if it was just his imagination, but it seemed like Leon’s eyes softened at the mention of her.
“She seems fragile at first glance, but she’s strong to the core. When life lusacks her down, she bounces back even stronger. She’s incredibly resilient and brave, Leon said, his voice quiet but firm.
James blinked, dazed. That didn’t sound like the usual sweet noting people said about their spouses.
Leon took the neatly wrapped gift bag from the shopkeeper.
The bag swayed in is hand. He could imagine the smile on Kelly’s face once she saw the gift.
