Chapter 56
They were the same guys who had ganged up to make tus of Kelly the last time.
“You guys are having a gathering. Why should I join?” Kelly asked emotionlessly.
“We had dinner together before, right? They asked me to invite you,” said jude.
Kelly looked at him and smirked faintly. “Where’s your girlfriend?”
“I’m gathering with my friends. Why should ask her along?” jade replied.
Kelly couldn’t help but scoff. “There’s even less reason for me to Join you guys, then,”
It didn’t occur to Jude that Kelly would reject him so flatly. He glanced at his friends cearby and whispered to Kelly, “Come on, don’t embarrass me. The guys are watching.”
He thought that Kelly wouldn’t turn him down because she held a torch for him, but she said indifferently, “you deserve it.”
With that said, she turned and left, leaving Jude to stare at her back in shock
When no one was around, Kelly secretly slipped into Leon’s car. After she buckled her seatbelt, she caught Leon staring at her while holding the steering wheel. Out of reflex, she touched her face and asked, “What’s the matter?”
Looking away, Leon answered, “Nothing.”
He started the engine and drove away from the campus slowly.
“Are you hungry?” he casually asked
Kelly wanted to shake her head, but she was worried that her stomach would betray her. Hence, she nodded honestly.
Holding the steering wheel, Leon looked ahead and said, “Many students are just like you, unable to eat meat for a few days. You’ll be fine once you get used to it” Kelly couldn’t help but tum to him “Did it happen to you in the past as well?
Leon chuckled softly. “Of course. I’m not exaggerating, but I was on a vegetarian diet for two weeks and lost a few pounds.
Did he lose weight? Kelly felt the fat around her belly, wondering if she could lose weight.
Leon gave her a glance and read her mind. “Don’t think about it.”
Silently, she kept her hand away.
“I’ll prepare a light meal for you tonight,” Leon said.
“Okay,” Kelly answered obediently.
It was quiet in the car for a while until Leon recalled the scene he had seen from the car earlier and asked in faked nonchalance, “The one who talked to you earlier. Was he your classmate?”
“Huh?” It took Kelly a while to realize that he was spealing about jude. “No, we’re not classmates, even though we’re taking the same major.
“What did he speak about with you?” Leon questioned.
“He asked me out for dinner, Kelly replied.
To Kelly’s surprise, Leon asked, “Does he have a crush on you?”
Startled, kelly waved her hands. “N–No, he doesn’t.”
She was telling the truth, Jude’didn’t have a crush on her, but she used to have a crush on him.
Speaking of which, Kelly was reminded of berfeelings for Leon
Tentatively, she stole a look attain. “What do you think if he really has a crush on me?”
She observed his every expression, but he was unfazed. “I think it’s not bad. It’s common for someone to have a crush on you at this age.”
He didn’t seem to mind one bit at all. She was his wife, and yet, he didn’t feel threatened that someone held a torch for her.
Kelly jerked her head to the side and stared out of the window.
Leon looked at her and found the back of her head facing him.
Dinner was simple–Knowing that Kelly couldn’t stomach neat, Leon prepared egg salad with balsamic dressing, which was appetizing
After Enlaling dinner quietly, Kelly went to the study and barely said anything to him. Then, she had some warm milk at night and went to bed staring at the washed cup on the table, Leon sank into deep thought.
