Wilhelmina burst into tears, sobbing. “Conrad, I just love you too much. I’m afraid of losing you to another woman. My mother has always loved you the most. She has always stood by your side and supported you. If you treat me like this, it will hurt her won’t it?”
She had to bring up her mother at a critical moment like this to protect herself.
Conrad let out a low growl. If it weren’t for his aunt, he would have kicked Wilhelmina out long ago. “Remember my warning. If you continue to misbehave, don’t blame me for not showing Aunt Sheila any respect.”
He then turned around and went upstairs.
Wilhelmina’s heart was filled with hatred and thoughts of death. Angela, that horrible witch, has to be “sent away” somehow!
Angela took some time off to recover at home in the following days.
Christopher sent her a message on Twitter, inquiring about her condition. After learning that her wound had healed, he booked a table at the top restaurant in Drumston and invited her to dinner to catch up.
“I’m relieved to see that you’re okay.”
He poured a glass of juice for Angela.
Now that Angela realized he was Conrad’s third brother, she felt a bit uneasy. “Chris, I didn’t expect you to be my boss‘ brother.”
Christopher smiled faintly in an intriguing manner. “You and Conrad seem to have a good relationship. When you got hurt, he was the first to rush over.”
Angela quickly waved her hands. This was what she worried about the most. If rumors spread and people thought she had a close relationship with her boss, it would be disastrous.
“Don’t misunderstand. Someone in my position can’t meet him face–to–face even once throughout the entire year. His actions are solely out of care for his employees. After all, he has just taken over not long ago and needs to increase his popularity. You should understand, right?”
“Perhaps, that’s the case.”
Christopher smiled without refuting, but he didn’t think so.
Conrad was a cold–blooded and unfeeling man. Even if someone died in front of him, he would step over their body and leave expressionlessly without a trace of pity.
“A girl like you is hard to resist.”
Angela lowered her gaze, smiling with a touch of melancholy.
Wealthy men from prestigious families had their heads in the clouds. How could they be interested in an ordinary person like her? Chris should be the same. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have cut off contact in the first place.

Christopher gazed deeply into her eyes. “That doesn’t sound like the confident Angela Banner 1 used to
know.”
Angela used to have some confidence. After all, she wasn’t ugly, had a good educational background, and a decent job. But recently, Conrad had continuously attacked her and almost reduced her to nothingnews,
“Well, I was young and naive back then. When I was in school, I didn’t know about society and its dangers. Now that I’ve entered society, it’s inevitable to experience some setbacks”
Christopher slightly raised an eyebrow. “Are you having trouble at work?”
“Not exactly. In life, we always go through some trials and tribulations, don’t we?” Angela made an effort to smile casually. To him, she was just an acquaintance, so she couldn’t appear too emotional,
Christopher shook the red wine glass in his hand. Three years had passed, and the person in front of him had matured a lot; she was no longer the naive and innocent girl from before.
At the entrance of the restaurant, a woman walked in. She glanced around and was about to find a quiet spot when her gaze suddenly fell on Angela.
Oh my god, what’s going on here? She’s actually with Christopher? Did they already know each other?
She quickly took out her phone and secretly took a photo.
Conrad disliked Christopher the most out of his three older brothers. Angela’s gonna be in deep trouble now!
In the CEO’s office, Conrad had just finished a meeting when Wilhelmina rushed in urgently.
“Conrad, I’ve discovered Angela’s big secret. She’s Christopher’s lover.”
Conrad slightly furrowed his brows. “Do you really want to die?”
It had only been a few days, and she couldn’t resist causing trouble again?
Wilhelmina quickly took out her phone and showed him the photo. “I’m telling the truth. Right now, she’s having dinner with Christopher at the Green Garden Restaurant. They’re talking and laughing intimately
She paused and continued, “I strongly suspect that all of this is a conspiracy between Christopher and Angela. They bribed the doctor and created a false accident to make everyone think Angela is pregnant with your child. In reality, she’s already pregnant with Christopher’s child. This way, their illegitimate child will easily become the heir of Heathcliff Corporation.”
