Courtney stood quickly, reaching for her unwashed clothes on the floor to pot them back on
“I brought you clades and toiletries. They’re on the sofa, Hayden said in a low voice, still not opening his eyes.

After about half an hour of sitting there, stewing in her frustration, Courtney couldn’t take it anymore. She marched to the bedside, staring down at the peacefully sleeping Hayden
It seemed that he hand taken this place as his own home. Courtney found this terrorist really sharneless.

Her frustration fodled over, and for a fleeting moment, she contemplated grabbing a pillow and smothering him.

Hayden’s physique was impressive. Not an oun still look like he belonged on a runway.

Courtney gave him another push. He was burning up with fever, completely unresponsive. If he didn’t get to a hospital soon, he could very well die.
Courtney’s gaze fell on the new phone lying beside her. After a long moment of silence, she finally dialed the police.
Hat when the call connected and the officer on the other end started asking questions, she found herself unable to say a single word.
In the end, she hung up and resorted to texting the police instead. It didn’t take long for them to arrive.
Both Courtney and Hayden were taken to the station, since the police needed a full account of the situation

Hayden didn’t respond. For once, he seemed eerily calan and cooperative, Courtney started to wonder if he had truly changed.
As soon as they entered the station, a middle–aged man in a military uniforms approached them. Without a word, he slapped Hayden across the face. “What the hell were you thinking, running around instead of staying in the hospital?”
Hayden frowned and mondded under his breath, I have to do this, or I would’ve lost the love of my life”
Courtney looked at the middle–aged man in astonishment. She recognized him–it was Tyson Fraley, the peacekeeper who had led the mission to tracur her team.
“This situation isn’t something I can explain in just a few words, Tyson said. “It’s classified. But what I can tell you is this: Hayden is one of ours. Five years ago, he was assigned to go undercover within Lacass organizations.”

Chapter 10
“Because of his work, we were able to dismantle Lucas’s terrorist network in such a short time,” he explained to Courtney.
Courtney stood frozen in place, struggling to process the revelation. It was too much to accept all at once.
*Uncle Tyson, don’t scare her. She’s timid,” Hayden quipped, raising an eyebrow as he offered a smile.
“Cut the crap! Go back to the hospital, Tyson barked, his frustration clear. After all, Hayden’s actions fell under disobedience to orders.
Hayden didn’t argue. He simply turned to Courtney, his gaze carrying a wounded softness. “Courtney, you’ve abandoned me twice now… I’ll haunt you for the rest of my life. Don’t think you can get rid of me. Wait for me”
Courtney stood rooted to the spot, numb and overwhelmed. Even after Tyson escorted Hayden away, she still couldn’t recover from the shock.
Hayden–a man whose meanness and arrogance had made her believe the worst of him–was actually an undercover agent sent by the peacekeeping forces.
Just like Lucas, Courtney had never suspected that someone as blatantly malicious as Hayden could possibly be working for the law.
His performance had been flawless, his disguise impenetrable.
