Jacob’s expression darkened. He glanced at Nicole with a somber gaze and said, “Nicole, are you not going to show me any forgiveness even though I’ve apologized to you? We were together for three years. Have you forgotten just how much you loved me?”
Daniel’s anger reached a boiling point when he heard Jacob’s words. How on earth did he raise such a useless son? Did he really have no clue about the position he was in right now? How could he act so spoiled when they were attending the banquet that was hosted by the Boyd family?
Not only that, but he was also acting so ridiculously toward Nicole, the daughter the Boyds had spent 23 years searching for before they tracked her down! Daniel looked extremely upset. He had never felt such hopelessness in his life
Meanwhile, Nicole’s face remained passive. Her tone was light as she spoke. “Jacob, if you continue to bother me, I truly wouldn’t mind broadcasting the audio recordings for everyone to hear. You would completely lose your reputation in Silverwood.”
Jacob had pretended to be poor for three years, but no normal person would be able to listen to the recordings of someone who was in the midst of dating without feeling grossed out. It would be Nicole’s final act of mercy toward Jacob by keeping the recordings private. She didn’t think that Jacob would throw her kindness back at her face.
Kenneth had also reached the end of his patience, his eyes buming with anger, “From now on, the Boyd family will halt all partnerships with Escobar Corporation, and we will never work with them ever again!”
Aaron’s tone was icy as he declared, “If there’s a chance for Escobar Corporation to rise from the ashes again, they’ll have to deal with me first.”
The crowd sucked in sharp breaths upon hearing Aaron’s words. Who would dare to go against Silverwood’s Compton family for the sake of Escobar Corporation? They would practically be inviting misfortune upon themselves.
The Escobars were chased out of the banquet as if they were mere rats. Nicole’s gaze only calmed and warmed when the banquet’s proceedings returned to normal. Heidi approached Nicole and took her hand before guiding her up to the stage.
At that moment, not only was everyone’s gaze focused on Nicole, but even the spotlights were aimed on her. Her custom–made dress showed off her great figure. Her delicate features gave off the impression that they had been meticulously painted by an artist’s hand. She was absolutely breathtaking even though she was just standing there.
Heidi was impatient, wanting to introduce Nicole to everyone present.

Nicole was surprised when she felt tears stinging the back of her own eyes. She lifted her hand and wiped at the tears that were beading at the comers of Heidi’s eyes. “It’s supposed to be a happy occasion today, Mom. We shouldn’t cry.”
Heidi nodded. “Nicole, from today onward, you can never be separated from us ever again, do you understand?”
