The crowd erupted in laughter, Jacob felt like his reputation was in shambles. He was also acutely aware that he couldn’t go up against Aaron. His temper was about to explode, but he had no way to express it.

Nicole, Aaron, and Jacob could hear everything as the crowd debated amongst themselves. Noticing a chance to tum the tide in his favor, Jacob instantly grew elated. He said in a matter–of–fact tone, “That’s right, we were together for three years. She gave me everything that she had in those three years. She couldn’t bear to see me hurt or suffer even a little hardship.”
Nicole’s expression darkened. What was Jacob trying to imply by saying that she gave him “everything“? She did give him her time and money, but she had protected her virtue fiercely

Nicole could feel her heart being tom apart. She couldn’t suppress her frustrations any longer. She strode toward Jacob and aimed a hard slap at his cheek without giving him any time to react.
Jacob had still been talking animatedly, so he nearly wasn’t able to react to the slap that came rushing toward him. He twisted his head to the side to dodge the attack. He was shocked by Nicole’s audacity, but his shock quickly morphed into a boiling rage.
He tumed his head back to stare at Nicole in disbelief. He had tried to be patient with her in the last few days because he had seen firsthand how much she loved Tim back then. He couldn’t believe that Nicole would be able to give up on him so quickly.
However, Jacob had reached the end of his patience. “Nicole Lawrence, do you really think that I’ll let you get away with everything? You’re just a woman at the end of the day, so stop acting like such a bitch!”
Jacob’s fury had overpowered his rationality. He didn’t care where they were or who was watching as he lifted his hand and attempted to strike Nicole.
Meanwhile, a glacial cold fashed across Aaron’s face. The aur around him tumed extremely severe as he stepped forward.
